QUOTE(cmah89 @ Oct 31 2016, 07:14 AM) Just a silly question, those item which sealed in a bag can hand carry into plane and bring back to malaysia? Maybe perfume which exceed 100ml? By right you are not suppose to open it. As far as I know, they seldom check your bags in the airport. None of my friend so far face this problem. In fact they dont even check the receipt staple to your passport. Sometimes I also "tumpang" my friend tax free and buy thing as well, since I am not eligible. |

Going on March for 9 day 8 nights jalan2/shopping, assuming gonna purchase a lot of stuff there. |

QUOTE(cmah89 @ Oct 31 2016, 09:30 AM) Cool, Just wondering since our airport always 'rampas' liquid stuff. I thought the airport rules are the same throughout the whole world. You can only bring less than 100ml liquid inside your bag, more than that then sorry you have to dispose it, or put it back into your luggage if you have the luxury of time and if they allow you to do so.Not sure if they will check in Japan airport or not. Going on March for 9 day 8 nights jalan2/shopping, assuming gonna purchase a lot of stuff there. They will rarely check your receipt and your bag. I think it might be the respect of privacy unless your bag contains maybe some drugs or guns. Tax-free is claimed on the spot at the shop there. When you buy your items, you show your passport and you are paying for the price before tax. There is a reason why they put before tax and after tax price there. This is the thing I like about Japan, hassle free when checking into the airport, no need go to tax claim counter to do those procedures that take hours. Oh ya, when you are passing through customs, there is a counter for you to put all the tax free receipt, then you are good to go. I am quite curious why they need to collect all the tax free receipt though. According to my sister, its to help tallying the tax free accounts with the shop itself. So tax evasion cases can be minimized. |

I have bought lots of liquids stuff from different countries (not necessary alcohol) and have no issue at all.Wondering if arrived in KLIA, need go through kastam scanner before exit and they ask for receipt how a?(Provided you hand it over to counter in Japan oledi?) What is staple on your passport is the tax free receipt. Besides that you will also be given another receipt in the shop. Most of my friend told me they just ignore the box in Japan and bring the receipt back home. |

Thats why I brought along an extra suitcase just to carry back my 'loots' because I know it's very hard to pack when it's sealed in a bag. Also, you can hand carry onboard the plane. Yo guys. I will be travelling to Osaka/Hokkaido from 6th Dec to 16th Dec this year (Tickets bought - ANA). The following is my planned itinerary, would love to get some input from fellow experts here.
6th to 7th - Osaka (Mainly city, USJ) 8th to 10th - Arrival at New Chitose, depart for Niseko. Beginner 1st timer ski class at Hirafu. Accomodation at Hirafu. 10th to 12th - Hakodate 12th to 13th - Noboribetsu Onsen Hotel 13th to 16th - Mainly Sapporo, Otaru on 14th. Accomodation at Sapporo. Theres a few things i would like fellow sifus opinion. 1. Any cost effective ways to travel from Niseko-Hakodate and Hakodate-Noboribetsu? As one way JR would cost approx 7000JPY. I was told thats the best way to travel as there will be no coach buses during winter for those routes? I have looked out at chuo bus website but so far no such route yet. Will driving be an option in winter? Eg. Rent a car from Niseko, drive down to Hakodate and return at Hakodate? 2. If at all we were to plan for a visit to a zoo with penguin parade, will Maruyama zoo be better? Or more worth it to travel to Arashiyama zoo? 3. Any suggestions for cost effective travel/transportation passes to recommend in the areas i am travelling to? 4. I know this is a very noob question but can we wear sportshoes in winter? Or must it be a boot? Thanks and regards! This post has been edited by csrulez: Oct 31 2016, 02:28 PM |

for my trip in June, after visiting Lake Mashu area, I am torn between going towards Lake Akan or Kushiro. anyone can advise me which one better to go?
Lake Akan Onsen resort, Ainu Souvenir Street and Museum and Fire Festival performance at night. But I feel a bit too touristy. Kushiro Visit Kushiro Wetlands on the way, have Robatayaki at night. next morning visit Washo market for Katte Don. Accommodation are cheaper than Lake Akan onsen resort. any idea? QUOTE(Cloud2322 @ Oct 30 2016, 09:55 PM) Cool! So it's worth it to buy the pass.. depends what u look for, to me its my first japan trip...everything is new to me...How's Hakone? Was it wonderful? Cause when I check on people's picture it look boring.. Except the Mt Fuji view. i m ok with everything coming... it has its own attractions which u can find out about online...so if u off interest about them...then u can choose to skip... view definitely nicer from kawaguchiko to fuji...than from hakone... i think... i chosen it as i don plan to fit it beyond 2d1n...and i wan go stop gotemba....lol |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ Oct 31 2016, 01:57 PM) Actually, if you buy at airport for liquor, then they will seal it and you can bring into the plane. For duty free stuff that you buy, you can actually unwrap and put inside your luggage..As long as you dont consume them, which they dont really check. Unless you're really unlucky hehe. Your receipt will be stapled onto the passport. Even i think, in the event they do check, as long as you didnt consume it, it should be fine. Meaning all your tax free items can be in a separate bag. Whatever you check in and bring back is up to you, just that if you play it cool and walk through KLIA without getting scanned then no issue lah Also, to maximize your loots, fly ANA coz they allow 2 bags of 20kg each! Totally worth it, good service, good food as well. Airfare was about 1.3k return but that's right after peak period which is mid of May. For those who are looking for pocket wifi, try Ninja Wifi, they have some promotions once in a while and it's pretty decent. 2 of us shared the pocket device and it could last a whole day, we didnt stream movies, just use it for surfing and google maps. I paid RM264 for 10 days, because they had a promo code if you fly ANA back then. |
