Hello all!

I'm planning for 11 days 10 nights trip! On November
From 7th-17th

There's a few questions wanna ask..

Do I need to carry thick shirts and umbrella? I'm not really sure would it be cold although according to the information I found it's around 15c-23c.
Need some good advice on this.

My flight is departing from KUL - OSAKA

7th-11th staying in OSAKA

Planning to take night bus to Tokyo on the 11th, so I should be arriving in Tokyo in the morning where I actually save cost for 1 night.

12th-14th staying in Tokyo

Leaving on the 14th from Tokyo to Kyoto

14th-17th

on the 17th I'll be going back to Osaka and back to Msia.

Should I get JR pass?

Any recommendation? Besides about my transports and which location is the best and the location I should be staying at.

Thanks!

Hello senpais!

I need help regarding on the JR pass..

I checked quite a few of information online and I am not really clear about it still.

If I get a 7 days JR pass, which means I can take all public transport under JR's company which include of city buses and train right? But is it convenient?

I need some suggestion about my current plan which one would be cheaper?

I will be in Japan for 2 weeks. Planning to travel from Osaka > Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka.
Planning to go to Mount Fuji too.

= PLAN 1 =
Buy a 7 day JR pass travel from Osaka > Tokyo > Kyoto > Osaka. Cost me about RM1,100?

= PLAN 2 =
Buy night buses travel from Osaka > Tokyo about 7hours so I could save up my stay as well. From Tokyo > Kyoto about 6hours?
Total fare about RM500? Somemore I save my stay for 1 night. But I will need to pay more on public transport in the city but I will get a Icoca in Osaka & Kyoto, Suica in Tokyo. Should be cheap right?

If I were to buy my travel tickets online anyone have nice websites to intro where they gives discount.
Tight on budget T_T Malaysia ringgit is weak af..

I am struggling about my journey..

I'm wondering in my trip within 7 days should I split staying in Kyoto for 3 days and 4 days in Osaka or all 7 days in Osaka and then I travel to Kyoto for the 3 days to visit Kyoto? I search the JR travel fees.. For per trip is about 900 yen on Mon-Thursday..
On weekends is 1,500 per trip..

Do they give out discounts on return tickets?

Hi senpais!

For those who ever went to Tokyo before, may I know is it a must to get a Suica card for a more convenience travelling?

and what about these cards?

-Tokyo Free Kippu
-Tokyo Subway Ticket

If I buy these cards I can save more right?

If you dont have a Suica card you need to go to the machine and buy the ticket every time and you also save a few yen as well. If you buy a ticket, it is rounded up. For example a ticket cost 206yen if you use SUiCA but 210 yen if you get from a machine.

All those day pass is worth it if you really plan your trip well and know where you are going. Day pass do not have the flexibility for you to chose which train company. If you buy Metro pass you can only use it for Metro. Example, JR is right in front of you and subway is 10 minutes walk.....since you have the subway pass, you need to walk. There are lots of pass around which I dont really have a clue actually as I have my own printed pasmo.

Thanks alot for your recommendation!

What about for the internet part? Is it cheaper to get a router or a sim card?
I found this on google looks like a great deal! For their sim card..

Thanks to a fellow member whom suggested Pupuru for Wi-Fi rental, and Yokoso SIM for well, SIM. Google and check them out. I used Japan Wireless twice before, and it was bloody expensive, until a member shared about Pupuru. I've registered for it next month. We'll see how it goes...

Sorry I am not the right person to ask as I am living in Tokyo,  I have my own permanent internet plan. Hence never really investigated what are the good plans

Found a perfect price and great package sim card. I think having a sim card is safer and more reliable.

hi guys...

we'll be going on 28/11 to 6/12...6 pax..
pergi tokyo HND...balik from hokkaido CTS

28 - 3 tokyo...
3 - 6 sapporo...

will use vanilla air from tokyo to hokkaido...much cheaper..
hard to understand on passes...so many of them...and expensive...
we'll be staying at BNB tokyo and sapporo...

my wife still working on the itinerary...
we're planning to bring along rice cooker...
do we need transformer for that? 110v to 240v...
where to find arr?

can't wait...hehe

I guess most airbnb do provide rice cooker.. If you actually staying in one.. If you're staying in hotel then oyu gotta bring your own..
But why not buy one in Tokyo..? Everyone keep telling me the Japanese has the best electronics gadgets on earth. Their rice cooker can cook you PERFECT rice, you want it to be hard as rock is possible, and soft as tofu is possible too.

Been there my last trip...if google image is true...Woodbury definitely more western...but shop experience i guess similar?
I tried hakone free pass...2d1n 1...
used it to travel from Shinjuku to Hakone then all the required rides around there...n bus to terminal which can switch to Gotemba...
for me i not going in depth around hakone...so 2d1n is sufficient...and yea convenient for go around...

Cool! So it's worth it to buy the pass..
How's Hakone? Was it wonderful? Cause when I check on people's picture it look boring.. Except the Mt Fuji view. sweat.gif
