Anyone know where to buy JR Tokyo wide pass outside Japan? My flight will arrive in Haneda at 10.30pm and I read the sale counter open up from 0745 to 1830 only. I am going to shinjuku that night.

shocking.gif ohmy.gif that's quite out of budget... thanks anyway let me try to search for other cheaper alternatives tongue.gif

by the way i gave up Grand Park Otaru and chosen dormy inn instead as it is nearer to the canal plus there were some other feedback about thick smoke smells on their rooms. hope i made a good choice.

Japan rail pass cannot be bought in Japan. It must be either online or certain agents in Msia such as JTB @ Isetan cust service KLCC

Yes u can. The easiest one is from the small counter after Isetan cust service @ KLCC.

The price is based on higher currency & change weekly although the pass price will be the same. Online rate will be cheaper. However I'm abot worry on online courier (loss in transit) & decided to pay jtb- isetan a visit, just 2 wks b4 my journey. Here is JTB msia website. They are huge in Japan too.

http://jtbmalaysia.com/japan-rail-pass/

P/s: pls bring in your passport for verification. Otherwise they might not sell to u as this pass cannot change /correct name upon exchange to the actual pass in Japan later. They hv to ensure everything is correct.

but it got mentioned

Unlike the national Japan Rail Pass, the JR Tokyo Wide Pass is available for sale in Japan and to all foreign passport holders, no matter the duration of their stay. Therefore, even foreigners living in Japan are eligible for this pass.

This pass can be bought in the JR East travel service centers in Narita and Haneda airports, as well as in Tokyo station and in the View Plaza of Shinagawa, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Mito and Yokohama stations.

Thanks. I think there is some misunderstanding here. What I mean is JR Tokyo Wide pass http://www.jreast.co.jp/e/tokyowidepass/#category03.
Since i will be around Tokyo,Hakone,Kawaguchiko and Yokohama so i think this pass is more reasonable for me.
My plan is to use JR Tokyo wide pass-Fuji Hakone pass-JR Tokyo wide pass. Total cost around 10k+5650yen+10k yen for 8days. Seems more reasonable than Jr rail pass 29k yen.

My plan:
*This is where i stay, I'm not yet finalize where i will going. Place of visit is much more dependent on the pass that i take.

Arrive at night before Day 1.
Day1 - Tokyo (Shinjuku)
Day2 - Tokyo (Shinjuku)
Day3 - Tokyo (Shinjuku)
Day4 - Hakone
Day5 - Kawaguchiko
Day6- Yokohama
Day7- Yokohama (Night Flight)

Cost:
Ticket Return: ~Rm1.2k
Accomodation : ~RM1.2k
Pass: ~RM1k
Quite expensive not including meal yet sweat.gif

This is not JR rail pass lor haha. The one I mentioned can only be purchased by Foreigners or Japanese no longer residing in Japan & not available in Japan. U either buy from the appointed agents in oversea or online, and the exchange docket that u buy hv to be exhanged for a reall pass at the norminated stations in Japan.

I'not sure about this jr tokyo wide pass. Probably new promo & only limited to Tokyo only?

Latest update

QUOTE
The Japan Rail Pass can be used only by foreign tourists in Japan. Currently, the pass can be purchased only outside of Japan. However, starting sometime in 2016 on a trial basis, it will also become available for purchase at Narita, Haneda and Kansai Airports. If purchasing the pass outside of Japan or via the internet, you will receive a voucher that has to be exchanged to the actual pass inside Japan and within three months of purchase.

税別 equals exclusive of tax
税込 means inclusive of tax

Iphones not sure ,never buy from there.

Tourist can enjoy VAT exemption, except consumables.
Note: when you buy items, your cosmetics and other items will be sealed. This is to proof that you didnt consume the item before you leave Japan. If you sowhathappen to break the seal, then you will have to pay the tax at the airport. You still can try your luck though since their do random checking.

*Raise hand*

Thanks to you and @RegentCid for the tips provided at the previous thread!
I'll be travelling there on 9th October and will be there for 10 days. From what I seen from your photos, I guess I'll have a great time taking photos there.

Try checking with JTB. There is one branch in KL and another in Shah Alam Aeon Mall.
Most of the time, they are more than happy to help you with your queries. smile.gif

in tokyo where exactly u planned to go?
coz inner tokyo if u ride alot it is recommended to use metro pass wink.gif
or if u travel less... no need to use any pass at all

eg.
Day 1,2,3 -> tokyo metro pass (only inner city, cant use in outer city eg disney, odaiba, nakano, etc)
Day 4,5 -> fuji hakone pass combo with romance car

For the Haruka pass, can we purchase the return ticket where 1 is going to kyoto and the return is from Osaka? Because our plan is KIX -> Kyoto -> Osaka -> KIX.

That price is not inclusive of tax. Since you can get tax exemption you pay that amount when you buy it from Apple store. As far as I know phone is unlock as I see lots of tourist buying it in Ginza Apple Store.

Not sure on different station, but no difference between buying single and return ticket. so you can just buy your single ticket back to KIX once you reach there.

Sorry, I mean the discounted Haruka ticket with ICOCA. The discounted ticket can purchase in Osaka? (Osaka to KIX) And it is not only for new ICOCA card?
