Muammar Askali alias Abu Ramie, a self-proclaimed spokesperson of the Abu Sayyaf, said the group was able to snatch two German tourists in Tawi-tawi, the country’s southernmost province.

“Unfortunately, the other one died. She tried to shoot us, so we shot her. She died,” Askali said in a brief phone conversation on Sunday morning.

4 instead of 6 for first batch
I still remember the original deal is 2+4 and the whole ship going to be 18 with all are ships have fit to mission
setting. So maybe the weapon setting will be vary by batch by default

I meant we are now losing FAC(M) and replacing with non-missile armed LMS
Laksamana missiles also long decom already
No. of platforms capable of firing SSMs semakin berkurang

Should we finally get round to arming Kedah?

CNN Reporters Trapped For 28 Hours During Running Gun Battle

Two CNN Reporters are trapped with Iraqi Special Forces during a 28-hour-long running gun battle with Daesh Forces in Mosul Iraq. This is their story.

QUOTE
It’s not often that we get to see the work of true main stream war reporters anymore. For the most part, it seems as if the people have lost their taste for it. In response to this, main stream media has once again set their targets on menial things like Kim Kardashian, and Beyonce.

In some cases however, they do still catch some gems and put them out there for the world to see. The following footage was recorded by CNN’s Arwa Damon and photojournalist Brice Laine during an embed with Iraqi Forces. They were trapped for close to 28 hours in a running gun battle with ISIS fighters inside of Mosul.

Live firing video of the Indonesian Army new Leopard 2RI MBTs, Astros II MLRSs and Caesar 155mm SPHs in Natuna. We can see the Leopard 2RI MBTs manuevering in thick mud of the Indonesian soil without any issues.

I'm not complaining about LMS specifically, they shouldn't be launching SSMs anyway, should be focusing on their utility jobs - MCM, hydrographic survey, patrol, HADR, etc. are all important tasks as well

Now we are getting LMS to take over patrol jobs, but SSM-armed ships have reduced in number. Hence why I said, should Kedah finally be armed?

Yeah, I heard "fit to mission", I also heard "fitted for but not with" rolleyes.gif brows.gif I am interested to know how TLDM intends to employ these containerised systems. I'm guessing that if the LMS get sent on patrol sorties then they can leave the MCM etc gear behind.

if needed they can be armed to specific type of weapon with just a visit to the dock
no need extensive downtime as all are plug and play

am not complaining, I think 15 to 5 and LMS are some of the best ideas we ever came up with. Just want to know about the practicalities of this 'modular system'.

Royal Navy's 6 Type 45s for example, share 4 sets of Harpoon SSMs, whichever 4 ships are deploying gets them while the 2 sitting in dock don't. I can imagine us doing something similar if we actually do buy the gear. but did we ever buy the missiles for Kedah class? I don't think so... likewise for LMS will we actually buy the missiles? or FFBNW-but-actually-didn't-buy again? rolleyes.gif

1 more thing. typically MCM ships are built with plastic hulls. LMS-MCM won't be...?
