I'm not complaining about LMS specifically, they shouldn't be launching SSMs anyway, should be focusing on their utility jobs - MCM, hydrographic survey, patrol, HADR, etc. are all important tasks as well

Now we are getting LMS to take over patrol jobs, but SSM-armed ships have reduced in number. Hence why I said, should Kedah finally be armed?

Yeah, I heard "fit to mission", I also heard "fitted for but not with" I am interested to know how TLDM intends to employ these containerised systems. I'm guessing that if the LMS get sent on patrol sorties then they can leave the MCM etc gear behind.

if needed they can be armed to specific type of weapon with just a visit to the dock
no need extensive downtime as all are plug and play

I'm not going to go all victim-blaming, but why go sailing there in the first place? The area is so dangerous people living there are put under curfew by the authorities.

am not complaining, I think 15 to 5 and LMS are some of the best ideas we ever came up with. Just want to know about the practicalities of this 'modular system'.

Royal Navy's 6 Type 45s for example, share 4 sets of Harpoon SSMs, whichever 4 ships are deploying gets them while the 2 sitting in dock don't. I can imagine us doing something similar if we actually do buy the gear. but did we ever buy the missiles for Kedah class? I don't think so... likewise for LMS will we actually buy the missiles? or FFBNW-but-actually-didn't-buy again?

1 more thing. typically MCM ships are built with plastic hulls. LMS-MCM won't be...?

I don't think we have enough military/political power to do that.
