QUOTE(iampokemon @ Jan 28 2012, 12:33 PM) I guess because previously too many top up failure and missing funds that makes them to cancel top up function from other banks. So now have to use solely Rhb account for top up. I experienced that too. But eventually they fixed it I think, after it became mandatory that we transfer $50 or more, I noticed that problem seems to be gone, for me anyway. Now I'm stuck, I can't transfer any funds to my paypal account. No any card, no RHB. |

It's prepaid card for Paypal and can be top up. Not sure how it works but you may try inquire it from 7-11 there? Now I'm stuck, I can't transfer any funds to my paypal account. No any card, no RHB. QUOTE(jsolhac @ Jan 29 2012, 05:08 PM) So far which debit card can be used for PayPal? Tried countless times to link my SC mastercard but keep getting the error. Even the bank can't do anything about this. Grr. I have maybank visa debit card, rhb master debit card, public bank visa electon debit card and a public bank visa classic credit card with all cards were linked to PayPal.You are not necessary to fund your PayPal. For debit card, you just need to bank in money to ATM machine, then you can pay anything via PayPal. Your PayPal will directly allocate your money from your local bank. For credit card this even easier, just pay with PayPal. During payment, choose your credit card as your option. Just come back to bank in the money to ATM machine next time when you have money. Please notice, if you have the age of 18, still a student or unemployed. Why don't you just go for applying a bank account and ask the bank officers to issue a debit card for your account. My recommendation is Maybank. Just go to bank, apply a bank account, if the officer ask you whether to issue atm card, you just tell him/her issue debit card directly. If they no ask you, you just tick the option of debit card at the application form or tell them to issue for you. If you are existing Maybank users, just head to bank directly then press for your ticket. Wait for your turn, then go to the counter there, ask them issue a debit card for your bank account. If you are existing Maybank users with an existing atm card, just do the same thing. Go to the counter, ask the officer help you to upgrade your atm card to debit card. Besides, you have to ask them help you to issue an online banking account if you still don't have Maybank online banking account. Make sure that you are able to login to your Maybank2u online banking account because you need to check your statement (check for your Paypal confirmation code). Otherwise, you have to ask from the bank officer to request a statement. That's why online banking is very important for debit/credit cards owners. We are living in the world of internet, no more bank passbook. Passbook was outdated, we no need to use passbook anymore because everything all about INTERNET!!! Passbook only for your saving account. My saving account is at Hong Leong Bank (formerly EON Bank), all my money was there. However, all my RHB, Maybank, PB account are trading accounts. Usually, I won't put my money into these 3 accounts because their interest rate are low. To make payment, just head to the atm machine. Choose "account deposit", NOT CREDIT CARD PAYMENT UNLESS YOU ARE PUBLIC BANK VISA DEBIT CARD HOLDER. Your bank account was linked with your debit card. So, when you are depositing money, please use your bank account number NOT debit card number (Just write your bank account number at the behind of your debit card, it doesn't matter.). After you deposit your money, you can now go shopping online and pay by using PayPal. Your PayPal will directly transfer the money from your bank account then automatic convert into foreign currency. Then transfer the money to the seller Paypal account automatically. You PayPal credit is US$0.00 just forget about it. The most important is, all your money are transferring from your local bank account. One more thing, the more different bank account you own, the more convenience you have. Before I tell you this, please make sure both of your banks were registered with your mobile phone number into the atm machine. Make sure both of your accounts are TAC verified. Your mobile phone number must be linked with your atm bank account otherwise this will not working. Please refer here how to register your TAC at maybank atm machine Registering TAC Usually, I will not take out cash from ATM machine then go to other bank to deposit my cash into another bank. This is quite wasting of time and your petrol. Just RM1 to save for your time and petrol. For example, if you want to transfer your money from your RHB bank to Maybank acount. Probably, your RHB bank account don't have debit card, so you need to trade with the seller by using your Maybank account. You are not necessary act like a stupid, go to RHB and take out RM2000 cash then drive your car to Maybank then deposit the money with atm machine. This is wasting much of your time! If you want to transfer your money, you just need to head to RHB atm machine, then choose "Other" -> "InterGIRO Bank Transfer" -> "Maybank" then insert the amount you want to transfer. Then insert your maybank account number at RHB atm machine. Then confirm your Maybank holder name (make sure is your name). When the amount was sucessfully transfered, a receipt will print out and your RHB account will deduct RM1.00 service charge. That's easy, just RM1.00 don't care about it please. Just pay RM1.00 charges then your money will update instantly. At the same time, you also can head to Maybank directly then use your RHB atm card to withdraw cash and deposit it to your Maybank account at the atm machine. However, this is not recommended by me, since it is quite wasting time to deposit money. Sometimes the machine has problem of accepting your cash. There have many people ques at the deposit machine then acting like stupid keep waiting and wasting time. Some noob even deposit RM5,000. Come on!!! RM5,000 please go to counter lah!! Don't waste our time lah. These are the my experience regarding how do I bank-in my money, how do I open my bank account with debit card, how do I link my cards to my paypal account. Hope these can help you. My debit and credit cards. This post has been edited by junclj: Feb 1 2012, 04:53 PM |

QUOTE(nizikila @ Feb 3 2012, 10:11 AM) hi The payment will be to your Paypal account. If you make purchases, Paypal will use what money you have in Paypal first before tapping into your card. If you want to transfer the balance in Paypal to your Maybank account, you can but you will be charged (RM20 I think) per transaction that's below a limit (RM200 I think)so now i got it that with debit card, we can straight buy from ebay or etc as long as there is money in our maybank account. but how if i want to sell in ebay? let say the buyer pay via paypal, will the money directly transfer to my maybank account or it will be credit to my paypal account? if paypal, how to transfer it to maybank? hope someone can answer it tq |

IMO both should be the same, except for minor safety and convenience issues.
Topup would be more inconvenient, as you'll have to keep on going to the bank/atm to topup, while if you link your card then as long as your account has cash can d. But, if you topup only, if somehow Paypal has a security breach then only your bank account no will be compromised. If you link your card, then they could possibly use that info to shop online first =/ |
