From what i read and gather, look like 3.95% and 4.05% per year are the most attractive FD interest rate ..... so the winners go to
HL Bank and Affin Bank...... any objections......

question should we banks that has very less branches or no PIDM .....

PIDM is just for mental comfort only whereas logistics (i.e. less branches) is 1 of d factor to consider

U have shortlisted which fund?
*
I got roughly around 30k to play with after it matures. I'm going to keep 10k as an emergency fund in a savings in case my dad gets sick. And 20k to be invested every month in

Manulife india.
RHB Asian income fund
Rhb total return fund (small percentage as it's a fix income)
Malaysian small cap.

Will wait it out if I can take up TA US.

It beats FD rate anyway

Yeap exactly. I parked around 4k in there so it's already way too much for my comfort zone. I'll try to talk to any of the girls in maybank and ocbc if they can offer me a rate I'm comfortable with.

CIMB Conventional : (depending on amount and branch, ask staff to request)
==================================================

1 month - 3.65%
3 month - 4.05%
6 month - 4%
12 month - 3.95%

CIMB Islamic FD
============
1 month - 3.7%
3 month - 4.1%
6 month - 4%
12 month - 3.95%

but I opted for Affin Bank Package 2 to be entitled to 4.15% (15months), just open an SA and apply debit card (free for 1st year). Hopefully I made the right decision tongue.gif

Thanks !

Not bad eFD rate. I tried and found only 15 banks listed. Some like CB not in there. So need to have fund in those banks linked to the FPX.
