[B][Budget] 6000+2000 for monitor

[Purpose] heavy gaming

[Hardwares that will be re-use] none

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080 only

[Games & softwares that use frequently] It will be AAA games in this recent years

[Personal preferences] 144hz monitor, won't drop lower than 58 fps on ultra setting, would like to finish my The Witcher 3, Metro series, Assasins Creed series, Rise of Tomb Raider (this game is intense on graphic i know), recent AAA titles

If sifus got free times can help me list both in NVidia and AMD GPU

Couldn't find any speaker in Techview's lelong store, you might have to ask them yourself (if you are getting from them) or buy it somewhere else.

Thanks, looks awesome. Will this be able to handle the games i play smoothly at high or even ultra settings? Will there be much performance diff if i opt for the zotac 1060 amp for the extended warranty?

bro, this spec sure can handle high/ultra setting at 1080p, no worries. There is not much difference in FPS among different brands, it all comes down at the aesthetic and the price when you're going to get a graphic card, just go for zotac, 5 years warranty FTW thumbup.gif

The situation is a bit interesting here as fitting an i3 + a decent low end GPU (like GTX750 2GB) will cost slightly more than the available budget, if we "downgrade" the GPU to something like GT730 to keep within the budget, the iGPU of the i3 is technically faster than the GT730 which makes no sense to do this. So I opted for i5 build instead without any dedicated GPU.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 802
ASRock H110M-HDV - RM 245
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 198
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
CM Elite Power 350W - RM 126
Asus DVD-ROM SATA - RM 69

Total: RM 1730 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Hi terence,

could spec above fit into CM Elite 110 M-ITX?

Hmm is monitor included in your peripherals (hardware to reuse list)?

This build list doesn't include monitor and I assume your case can fit all the components listed below (since the model is not listed by you).

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 862
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 379
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 198
Sapphire RX480 8GB GDDR5 Nitro+ OC - RM 1309
Kingston SSDNow UV400 120GB SSD - RM 190
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Superflower Leadex Silver 550W - RM 339

Total: RM 3492 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

If I add another RM500 to the budget, any FreeSync monitor you would recommend?

Hi i need a help with my colleague build up pc for work

[Budget] company pay for it but i put 6k

[Purpose]  using for construction site for drawing n daily use

[Monitor resolution] bigger the better i think

[Games & softwares that use frequently] autocad, revit ,microsoft project n office

[Personal preferences] Due to construction site i would like the casing for fully dust filter

[Location] shah alam

Thank for recommendation
*
Dust filter of the chassis is never a "full" dust filter as tiny/micro dust can still enter the chassis sweat.gif

The fan metal bracket is not dust filtered too so it is extremely hard to build a rig with everything filtered.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1330
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 438
Zotac GTX1050Ti 4GB GDDR5 Mini - RM 729
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 296
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Superflower Leadex Silver 550W - RM 339
CM Silencio 452 - RM 248
Acer R271 - RM 855

Total: RM 4896 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

I don't max out the 6k budget here but you can do the following if you want to do so:

1. 1440p (or 4K) monitor for more workspace.
2. A better GPU if you need more CUDA core/VRAM for 3D modeling/rendering etc.

and many more.

It is very hard to guarantee > 58 FPS on ultra settings in every PC titles as this is largely depends on the optimization, just take Mafia 3 as example, it is a poorly optimized console-port and you can't get a stable 60 FPS even with GTX1080 (1080p only) bangwall.gif

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1330
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Kingston 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 438
Palit GTX1080 8GB GDDR5X Jetstream - RM 2792
Kingston SSDNow UV400 240GB SSD - RM 296
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Superflower Leadex Gold 550W - RM 409
NZXT S340 - RM 320
Dell S2417DG GSync - RM 1919

Total: RM 8165 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

A Dell 1440p 144Hz monitor is used instead of 1080p because it feels more worth than Acer Predator XB241H (price difference is just few bucks). Not going to an AMD GPU build because none of the AMD GPU is able to compete with GTX1070/GTX1080 yet.

You can do some tweaking to keep the cost below 8k (like removing one of the 8GB RAM).

In general yes but still up to the optimization of the games you play. Performance is about the same with +/- 5 FPS difference at most due to different setup, swapping for Zotac card for extra warranty sounds ok to me.

I would recommend at least a setup with i5 + GTX1060 for a decent frame rate (60 FPS PCMR standard laugh.gif ) on high/ultra settings, this will cost you nearly 4k with monitor included.

Hello. I would like to ask for some advice with regards to building a new budget rig as I do not have much knowledge about building a rig.

[B][Budget] 4500 (Rig only and if possible lower than this)+1000 for monitor

[Purpose] mainly gaming only and just surfing the internet/watching videos

[Hardwares that will be re-use] none (please exclude peripherals from the budget)

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080 (I plan to buy Dell U2417H but kindly suggest if there are any better option and i plan to have a second monitor in future to do other things like skype while playing games etc)

[Games & softwares that use frequently] Dota 2, CS:GO, FIFA 17, Football Manager 17, GTA V and also like to try other AAA games

[Personal preferences] I would prefer if it's possible to play games in ultra/max settings on 1080p for the monitor mentioned above. I am someone that have the habit to open multiple tabs or programs.

[Location] Kuala Lumpur (Prefer Idealtech as my bro purchased from there previously)

Actually I did do some research and did some combination myself but do have a lot of doubts. Kindly advise if it's compatible. (Based on idealtech list)

CPU: I5 6600 (I dont plan to overclock, will I5 6500 or 6400 more worth it?)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 G1 Gaming (I am struggling whether i should stretch my budget up to GTX 1070)
Mobo: Gigabyte H170M-D3H (Will ATX mobo better than than MATX?)
RAM: Gskill Aegis Series 8GB DDR4 2133 Mhz (thinking if i should get 2x8gb)
Chassis: Xigmatek Octans 236B (ATX better?)
PSU: Superflower Leadex Silver 550W (Is this reliable or if there are any better choices?)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB (I would like to maintain SSD of this size)
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64 bit (I buy it as i prefer them to set up everything for me)

Should I include aftermarket air cooler since I didn't plan to overclock? any significant differences? Should I stretch my budget to ATX mobo and casing? and if the abovementioned build is compatible to each other?

Sorry for having so many questions and thanks for your help! appreciate it.

Well it is stated "ETech price inclusive of GST" but you cut it out in the original quote sweat.gif

Something like Dell U2515H (25" 1440p, around RM 1400), Dell U2715H (27" 1440p, around RM 2150), Dell U2717D (27" 1440p, around RM 2250, new model).

As for GPU, it is up to your workload, if it requires a more powerful GPU (due to heavy modelling/rendering etc) then you can go for GTX1060 6GB.

i5 6500 yields a better price/performance ratio among all Skylake i5 available in the market.

ATX mobo grants you more upgrade room as you aren't going to stuck with limited PCIe slots (and potentially other connectivity ports/slots too), same goes to the chassis.

16GB RAM is recommended if you are a heavy multitasker, 8GB RAM is barely enough if you are lazy to close all the unused programs or tabs in your browser before firing up your games.

GTX1060 is more "budget friendly" (in your case), if you are ok with not-so-high-end 1080p monitor then you can use the extra money saved from U2417H for GTX1070, U2417H is a premium IPS monitor that might be a little bit overpriced in those 144Hz monitor hunters as you can get a 144Hz with the price tag of U2417H.

Aftermarket cooler is optional for your build, it is not necessary to get it initially, if stock cooler (Intel HSF) isn't able to give you a comfortable temperature and cooling then only start thinking to get a decent aftermarket cooler to replace it.

As for PSU, I would suggest a top up of RM 70 for Leadex Gold (tier 1 PSU) thumbup.gif

hello. im thinking to change my display card to 1050 ti.
currently using 7850 2gb. is there huge different in term of performance?

here's the case.
i have issue with my game fps right after i change my monitor to 144hz.
previously when using 60hz monitor, i can get around 200~250fps in CSGO.
after change to 144hz, it stay at 160 ~ 180fps.

so will the upgrade increase the fps?

and yes. those fps matter to me.

Hmm, changing monitor from 60Hz to 144Hz shouldn't affect the performance of the GPU, something weird is going on here, are you sure all the settings are the same?

Back to the question, yes, upgrading to GTX1050Ti from 7850 will provide more performance but you need to find out the root cause of frame rates drop first before going for this upgrade as this is not a feasible solution.
