QUOTE(romanicci @ Nov 20 2017, 09:40 AM) Yeah man! Was so excited this morning for the "first run"... thought my muscles will still have the memory of running a few years back, so did a quick run after some simple stretching session...bottom of my foot started to ache around 1.5km into the run, perhaps a little too intense for my feet after a long break, or could be the shoes Guess my engine need to start a bit slowly after the super loooong years of break |

Is there any recommendation for running shoes within RM200 nowadays? Seems like can't find any.
How about RM250 which I think is the best I can go for? Any recommendation across that price range? |

QUOTE(Devil4life @ Nov 20 2017, 06:12 PM) Is there any recommendation for running shoes within RM200 nowadays? Seems like can't find any. I've got friends running with Kalenji shoes that you can buy from Decathlon at affordable price. You can also try looking out for good value shoes in Sports Direct (older stocks, value price). I personally find affordable Skechers shoes (Big Skechers fan here!) at their Mitsui outlet - their GORun models are good and discounted. Anyway, price should not be the benchmark for your performance. How about RM250 which I think is the best I can go for? Any recommendation across that price range? How much gain achieved when running in those RM300++ shoes (above mentioned) compared to those ~RM60?

Be real careful & enjoy your run. |

The 60 shoes will give you a lot of trouble later on.You want to focus enjoying your run not trouble yourself with footwear. For recreational run, its fine |

QUOTE(lightworks @ Nov 20 2017, 09:35 PM) hmm.. average running ~21km per week, trouble mentioned here is referring to injuries related to leg? Mainly injuries. But there is other thing that will bother you like the shoe get hot (not enough ventilation), blister, not enough grip in several surface (low quality outsole), not enough cushions etc etc. Like i said it keep bothering you. Soon you will be thinking to get a better one. It's already a waste of money. All this will lead to injuries if you run a lot or run hard actually. I take it as consistent 21km every week. You better invest in properly designed shoes for running. 21km/week is enough to get you injuries unless you are experienced runner which mean you already have an efficient stride. |

Earlier this year I got a Brooks Launch 2 for RM120. Yes it is a 2-year old model. Launch 4 is the latest model. But it doesn’t matter. This is a good pair of running shoe. Launch 4 was selling at RM 230/250 then |

There is a lot of sales now as mentioned here. You can get a good running shoes with the price slightly over RM200 or even less. Take note to this, are you overpronator, neutral, or underpronator? Do you have wide or narrow toe? What is your bmi? Have you experienced any injuries from running before? A proper running shoes will last very long, unlike those RM60 shoes. |
