guys. juz wondering.. is jaring also hving trouble downloading via P2P? r they also throttling user's connection just as tmnet had done?

by the way.. the p2p throttle.. is it gonna be permanent or juz until tmnet fix the bloody cables?
i was thinking of ending my subscription with tmnet and applying for jaring.. but is jaring any better?

Well, consider it more of a permanent fixture. There won't be much difference going anywhere else either.

crap!! how come? is the gov imposing this to all d ISPs? What's d use of hving internet if u can download?

i read somewhere tht 20% of tmnet user r using up 80% of bandwidth. but we paid for d services didn't we. frankly, its tmnet's inability to provide d required bandwith tht should be questioned.

Salamander.. are there any other alternatives besides using proxies? somehow, i couldnt get d proxy settings right rclxub.gif

Well it depends on what type of problem, if those problem such as 'I can't connect to....' or 'I have very low download speed' I will just leave it at Broadband User-2-User as it is part of networking too. Other than that I would move it to their official client thread. Thanks. smile.gif

let LYn member decide
whether to post in software section or Broadband User-2-User
but if it is related specific to bt client better go to the bt client itself in software
rather put everything inside here
the this discussion become rojak

They're blocking eMule now. All UDP ports are closed, so you will always get firewalled.

hello,
boleh land people. are you guys still thinking to BT download FREE ?
no way. TM will throttle it FOREVER. Later, TM will charge by data usage.
you want BT, you need to pay more to TM and "special service" to bypass the throttle.
No more FREE meal liao.

I guess they should promote legal downloads at a low cost. The originals now are quite pricey and not everyone in Malaysia can afford it and that's where it leads to piracy.

ya lah. original DVD price is killing one ( even though already reduce, yet still too pricey). throttle BT will not stop piracy. It will increase piracy because more people will buy from "p" VCD shop.

p/s: maybe I should start open a shop to sale "p" dvd to grab big money nod.gif

I will still support piracy unless they bring down those pricey originals.

I buy originals too, after the price being cut by half.

Well charging this way might be good in some ways but their service has got to improve too if not there is no point in implementing this kind of packages.

since they cant really provide sufficient bandwidth, they can just set a price that make sure nobody can afford it
why improving service when there is no necessary? not like many of us have other choice
easy job for them

For me, any p2p or download accelerator works on me.

I have frequent disconnection problem.
Thus, whenever i start to download at any speed, it will disconnect.

It has nothing to do with my modem, its the line and i knew it.

Should be nothing to do with TMNut.

Corrupt part usually caused by a corrupt source, which probably the remote user's source is already corrupt (mostly caused by defective HD sector) which the user don't know.
This happened to me before. A complete video file setting in my hardisk for weeks. Suddenly found some blocky in the video when playing. Try rehash the file and got different hash value, which means the file is not identical to the original one already. Which also means, if someone download the corrupt part from me, he will get the message you saw. sweat.gif

That happened to me before. I subscribed ever since it was RM 88 for 384 kbps. Ask a technician to come, he can fix it for you. Bear in mind, you might lose your 219.94, 219.95 range and your unthrottled line. Yes, it occured to me, so I know.

easy to use.

Using Bitcomet: 0KB
Using BitSpirit: 20KB max in my own eyes.

i am using a router and i done all the portforwarding. however, no matter i use bitcomet, azureus, utorrent and emule, all download speed is dead(1-10kbps) for me but my upload speed still very fast(around 40kps). before the earthquake my download speed has no problem at all. Beside, my normal http download still remain as usual.

I hard try many ways such as do protocol or disable firewall but nothing is work for me. i really no idea of what had happen. is there any suggestion for me? no p2p download is killin me.

between my router i using is zyxel prestigo 600 series.

uTorrent behaving weird

I'm using utorrent and something weird keeps happening.. in queueing I set 7 maximum active ul/dl and 5 maximum active dl but after every few hours almost all the torrents in queue seem to start downloading, and this makes it hard for the torrents at the top to dl properly as everything slows to a crawl.

Bug?

because of limited bandwidth? The cause of the limited bandwidth not only caused by p2p, is their fault for oversell their bandwidth without increase the capacity on the gateway. They only think about their income from those big company lah, we normal citizen TMNut just ignore all the way. vmad.gif

This was found on redesignmalaysia.com
I guess Josh got it right from the source rclxms.gif

QUOTE
According to a very reliable source, we got to know the following about the current P2P blocking issue facing Streamyx users:

- TMNet is currently in the process of testing their "Volume-Base system"
- As its still in the development phase, the call center won't be able to tell you much.
- The block is implemented from 6AM - Midnight.
- The P2P block was implemented after the Taiwan earthquake because they noticed that "p2p downloading was adding to performance degradation on their network"
- "Weather permitting", the block will be lifted at the end of January, when the Taiwan circuit is fully restored

Based on the above information, and bandwidth usage starting to show up on bills, we speculate that TMNet will release new packages to cater for heavy broadband users. To be fair, this should result in cheaper packages for light users - and not more expensive packages for heavy broadband users, presumably. As for the throttling, well - let's hope its really lifted when the Taiwan circuit is restored, and maybe too, it'll all get settled in the next two days.

Let's hope we can get a longer period to P2P rather than the now implemented 6 hours. Hurray rclxm9.gif

I'm seeding at some tracker and my UL speed suddenly return to normal(20-30kb/s) since 6pm just now. Wish it'd maintain but since early morning today even my surfing speed been unstable. Things would only be smooth when i use proxy. Please Screamyx, please... cool2.gif

weird problem..whenever my utorrent client is running, i can't browse..it'll just be loading forever. The thing is that the utorrent isn't even downloading anything. Basically my connection is 0kb/s for everything. But once i exit utorrent, then resume normal browsing. how come?
*
hello..anyone know how come like this? Sometimes the utorrent download 2kb/s liek that but internet cannot load.

my guess is certain settings in utorrent are way too high. setting big numbers do not automatically speed things up.

such as 100 connections per torrent. or 1000 global connections.

you also have to watch your up speed. you cannot set up speed equal to your package's max value.

check this out, it'll help you adjust to a more usable situation:
http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=3912

and don't keep changing these values. sometimes you may need to reset your modem.

after observation from 1st Feb until today, i can see the unthrottle time for my account is about 1am to 8am everyday, lets see how long it will last ....

i only seed while being throttled, since unthrottled i won't connect to local peers so i think i won't do any help to local peers, but when throttled and i can only connect to local peers, what i downloaded during unthrottled period will be useful to locals.

Depends on what torrent i'm downloading. Bleach is around 30kbps wven with 1k+ seeds and 1k+ peers. This is not local but international trackers.

bleach, naruto, one piece n D.Gray-Man have no problem to reach 100k... but other can reach 20k-30k is usual already. If the file don't have local seeds n peers, then it will stuck at 10k speed which I think TMNut throttle the international speed to 10k =.=

Glad to see everyone is feeling better about the speed now.

Comes to show that TMNet does not simply throttle without reason and that sometimes the things some of you guys say when something goes wrong is really... well... extreme.

Hope they would come up with a more permanent solution.

Cheers.

I'm in Kota Bharu and I concur with the observation that throttling time is around 1 am to morning around 8 ish. Fine by me since I'm only downloading when I'm in bed and pending job is completed by the time I wake up.

I guess they are having their next move, do you know why?

Because your monthly UL and DL is stacked, they see that you use 100GB for last month (eg.) before throttle but this month after throttle it becomes 30Gb.

So, they want to know your exact amount data of usage, so they unthrottle it. Thus, they can know how much you download per month and set up a plan where charge you accordingly.

Deal?

Yes, even with local seeds/peers. What's odd is corporate wireless can BT at 80 kbps but only download off HTTP (even Jaring's site) at only 10-15 kbps (when not using BT), but wired is almost dead, 1-2 kbps.

It was only for a while. I'm now back to crawling at 6-7kb/sec.

Don't know what happened then. I had 100 half open slot set with the DHT enabled + Forced Protocol Encryption + Allow incoming legacy connection.

That speed lasted from about dinner time last night till late this morning.

Well, think logically.

Around this time is when most businesses are operating, and most regular users are awake, so they throttle p2p at around this time as to not affect the speed of the other users.

At night when offices are close, they unthrottle p2p allowing us to at least get some downloads done. So in that sense, at least they do have 'some' concern for us p2p users.

Kudos to TMNet for that. Better than 24/7 throttling.

Next step for them is to improve their international bandwidth link! tongue.gif

Yeah, that's the time to download. I realised the time they throttle and unthrottle varies for different people. No idea why.

Logically, that should be the case; however the truth is that some area still got throttled 24/7. There is a huge group of Streamyx subscribers still suffers and those TMNut fellows don't give a Sxit about.

Hmmm... Maybe the throttling/unthrottling has to do with the amount of bandwidth available at the particular area? Like the throttling in the morning before business hours is fixed but unthrottling is dependent on bandwidth availability?

Hmmm... =\...

I've noticed one thing before and after the earthquake, 218.111 IP range used to be one of the best IP range before earthquake, but after the earthquake somehow this IP range became the worst IP range, and turned out 60.5X IP range gave me the best d/l n surfing speed, so strange.

Guys... don't you all know that those tiny winney nuts TM is feeding us broadband just like those cookies commercials - Kejap Ada... Kejap Tak[U] Ada. So stop cracking your brain why your speed went like roller coaster.

I used to go crazy tweaking my p2p client and all the variables hoping to improve speed but now no more. Consider it kerja sia-sia coz those small nuts fellas won't change the way they do things one... Hopeless!!

My bt speed still cannot go more than 50kB/s. Most of the time less 10kB/s. vmad.gif

Need a Nut Cracker to be used to those small ones (TMNuts). tongue.gif

Use a VPN biggrin.gif

You might have some luck with public ones but IMHO, private vpn's are so much more reliable

will local tracker helps to improve the speed???

Since most seeds/peers are local, you will have better speeds compared to international ones.

Yeah I read a lot about VPN, is it really that good? How about HTTP-Tunnel? Have anyone tried that? I'm weighing my option between VPN & HTTP-Tunnel, which one's better?

hmm.gif, lucky for me, both Torrent and Ares works fine, just downloaded a 700MB file, and finished 10 hrs later (30KBps~50KBps), and regarding Ares, from my XP, sometimes you can't connect is because some AV (ZoneAlarm) think one of the Ares's core file is a threat, therefore, quarantined and consequent from that... you can't get online...

I'm having a problem with my BitTorrent service.Every time when I started a torrent download,I get a stable speed of at least 30++kB/s.But this condition doesn't last long.It lasted for a miserable 30 minutes before the download speed dropped to 0 kB/s.Things are fine again for another 30 minutes after I've restarted the modem and BT client. How can I solve this problem? It is very annoying especially when I'm downloading files that are up to gigabytes as I can't spend my sweet time restarting the modem every 30 minutes.Thank you very much for your help!

That's the throttling of TMNet....Once it identifies it as p2p especially BT, the connection speed will drop unless you are connecting to local peers.

There are several way to get around this:

a) Try one of those chinese clients tuotu or xunlei (only works for some ppl)
b) Use a VPN service...which is what I'm doing along with several other providers in the networking garage sales section.

For popular files there are also local torrent sites.

unless you are a new subscriber or you have been in tibet for 2 years, you would have known that tmnut has throttled all p2p traffic including BT. That means they have blocked your torrents from running!

Thank you for your reply.I've tried Xunlei, but the results are rather unsatisfactory.I managed to get 30++kB/s with uTorrent eventhough TMnet throttles it after every 1/2 hour but Xunlei just download with a poor speed of 3kB/s.Is there any specific settings that I have to change in order to make it efficient?

By the way,is it possible to connect to more peers when using uTorrent? The total peers seem to be 200+ but I can only connect to 40 max.I've changed the max peer connection to a higher number but things still don't work out. Thanks!

U can try to reset ur router to gain access into access page.
One thing PF will kill the webpage surfing unless u remove it. Sorry better minimize ur surfing while u dl from torrent.

I have no personal experience with Xunlei but got a bit put off with Tuotu as I can't seem to uninstall it cleanly.

However with utorrent, setting your max peer connection to a higher number will actually reduce your speed. The recommended number for our normal streamyx lines is in between 200-300 global connections and around 80-100 per torrent. BitTorrent automatically decides how many seeds/peers you can connect to and 40 is not a bad number to be honest.

However this is all pointless considering that TM throttles so as many connections as you can get, you won't get decent speeds.

# BitLord - based on old buggy BitComet code.

Don't use it.

T_T

Use utorrent or azureus.

@Reuben

Once again thank you very much for your reply! I've managed to get Xunlei to work by setting my modem to manual connect instead(I'm using ZTE ZXDSL 831).It does download constantly without any throttling, but the problem is it connects to only 25 out of 1225 peers with an average speed of 12kB/s.Anyway,I consider myself lucky enough to make it work, eventhough the speed is .............. smile.gif

Just curious.. does anyone have problems connecting to torrents on inferno.demonoid.com? All i get is connection closed by peer whereas Ive no problems with other trackers. Seems like either tmnet specifically block this address or demonoid is blocking us.

They've been filtering popular trackers by useragent for quite some time now, just change your useragent to something else and you'll be able to connect again

As for demonoid, you could try enabling 'DHT network'. Hope it helps.

our days of torrenting is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

and in the news today, 12,000 TM staff will be getting a 5.5% increment in salary. Suck our money, suck our bandwidth, and feed themselves.

I'm running utorrent right now (beta or not, it is the same), and I found out that my speeds have an average of 20 kilobytes per second.

I am downloading the latest Naruto as my test file, mind you.

Anyone else facing this? Has streamyx increased their throttling measures, or is streamyx just being mad at me (yes, I've downloaded about 20 gigs for the past 10 days through streamyx using bt using a bypass method I don't want to speak of, btw Naruto should be full of local peers, mind you)?

I am using the 512k package.

Http seems to work fine. Anyway, if streamyx failed on me on bt, time to go mIRC and http, sigh.

Guess I also should go VPN huh? I think it is cheaper to get off this country, though.

I think it started 3 days ago. Around noon like that. My upload speed cannot exceed than 10kbps while my download speed cannot exceed 25kbps eventhough i can connect to around 50-60++ seeders. It is getting worse with local peers too. I think stimyx throttled local peers already. sigh~~

not even to say throttle bt local peer
it is worst when it comes to even surfing, u still get request timed out
if streamyx is able to provide good surfing experience, i wont mind if they throttle local peers then.. i drew out for it already =.=
BUT, even they throttle everything, still surfing sucks... In overall, they are just sucks

And see what's the respond of it.

After reading about all the rants on how Tmnet is throttling the p2p speed, someone suggested Peer Guardian 2. I was told that it helps with this whole IP ban and govt issue but I have never tried so I thought of asking the experts in here.

Anyone use Peer Guardian 2 software while torrenting? Whats the effects?

Peer Guardian just blocks certain IP ranges from accessing your PC doesn't do anything to increase your speeds except perhaps block 'fake peers'

I've been getting all of my Peers connection as REMOTE only....only 1 or 2 LOCAL, what's up with that?

I know that is causing my speed to drop. I think my area has been throttled for the past few weeks. been getting crappy speeds.

Today is the only day i get above 20Kbps!

Hey there !
For Demonoid users, Demonoid tracks your IP.. so means when you disconnected and reconnected, you need to go Demonoid site and do some surfing.. let them able to detect your IP address..

And.. Don't user Bit Comet.. Bit Comet can't track trackers well... uTorrent is good enough...

Local mean you are connected to the peer

Remote mean other peer connected to you

so doesn't really matter if you get less local as long the speed is okay.

A problem here. Using Azureus (I like it more then uTorrent) I recently found that my trackers are timing out. For the same tracker one file may update while another file just times out. Is this due to throttling as well? Otherwise is there a fix to my problem?

Meh. It would seem my problem stems from window's tcpip.sys limiting files half open connections to 10. Oh well. WIll update if its not the case.

sometimes the num of seeders is not important, wht is the use of having 30 seeders but everyone cap his upload speed to 1kbps? wht matters actually is the upload speed of the users. smile.gif

I just put a new cert into openvpn config yesterday and noticed that;

1. the icon at the bottom of utorrent is now permanently red, mousing above it shows "Not connectable. A firewall/router is limiting your network traffic. You need to open up a port so others can connect to you."

2. And some torrents that are showing lots of UL/DL in the online tracker sites are displaying 0 seeds/0 peers in utorrent. This specific torrent's tracker status is showing Proxy Error: Connection Refused

I didn't change anything in firewall or utorrent aside from putting a new cert in openvpn.. what could be causing this?

Why can't I can't any songs from Ares or Lime Wire Pro? I need to click like 50 files before a download actually starts.

Need help.

LY gang here, could you plz recommend me where to get a good socks proxy (4 or 5)?

I'm behind an office LAN and I don't think any other services (openVPN etc) would work.

Really appreciate this! Thank you folks!

Hi guys,

I was with Azureus --> BitComet --> uTorrent (now). I am quite new with uTorrent and I dont quite remember my previous setting with BitComet. Anyone can give me some advice on the configurations of uTorrent for optimal performance?

I am using Streamyx Basic 1.0M - download and 384k upload. Will you share with me the values you have set for the configurations below?

BitTorrent:
Global maximum number of connections:
Maximum number of connected peers per torrent:
Number of upload slots per torrent:

Queueing:
Maximum number of active torrents (upload or download):
Maximum number of active downloads:

I appreciate your input. Thank you.

Thanks for the speedy reply. How much download speed can you get? Nice? Or bad?

How come your Global maximum number of connections: 250 is same with Maximum number of connected peers per torrent: 250? Thought this value should differ?

I found something wrong with my BitComet 0.91 n Ares.

Whenever i run this 2 programme in the background i cant browse the internet. I tried 2 open firefox, IE, opera but it all shows unable to connect. I believe that this 2 program suck all the bandwidth, so i tried to limit the bandwidth. But even when my dl speed set to 10kbs i still cant browse the internet.

Even weirder is when im downloading stuff using Flashget at around 100kbs i can still browse the internet although its abit slow.

I never had this problem b4 in the past. But after i reformat my pc and install a fresh copy. This problem happens. Anyone knows why?

Works for some, not for others. I tried it, and it worked for the 1st torrent, then the rest get stuck at 0. Glad it works for you. Other people with good results like sinoffire, please give us tips.

Entire world? Are you high. IF you want the fastest and free it will still be Bittorent. IF that is if you find a good private sites/tacker to join. Search for it and search hard cause it will be worth it. Trust me it will.

And no Demanoid is not a good private sites.

The VPN you are using is running thru a server which has blocked thepiratebay and some other infamous trackers.

If you have a Mac, use it while you still can.

So far, throttling is STILL client-specific (at base rate, not mentioning TCP overload dropping yet).
Macs are the minority, and the torrent apps used run really good on my connection, considering it's ALL international connections. It's faster than anything on Windows.

How you guys get speed like 160kb/s using TM 1m package?
As i know 1mbits/s = 125kb/s
When the data go through all the attenuation you wont even get 125kb/s
How can people get pass the max speed? o.O
*
i heard if ur area upgraded to fibre optics u get free upgrade

and last time there was a promotion and my 1m line became 1.5m line
dl things also go fast fast... but now no more, back to 1.0

why my ares cannot connect? usong maxis bb btw.. =.=

maxis is actually blocked the p2p well the reason is to speed up internet connection (which I think is not as fast as it is)...btw...if you want to use ares or other p2p program...use it at night between 12am till 6am.......

your torrenting is choking your connection. Happens to cheap routers.

Using aztech?

Try reduce maximum connection per torrent in your torrent client

My flux is using a new datacentre in europe connecting to thepiratebay.org should be no problem :-) . Many copyright infringement if using TPB that's why most provider getting block accessing thepiratebay.org

As addon 1:1 seeding is introduce to all package with no extra fees hope everyone can use private tracker :-)

I'm currently using Prolink H9200 and did suffer a major download speed for BT using Bitcomet.

Previous I had been using Prolink 9000P Hurricane and the speed is reasonably high after I enable the IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol). But after switch to this one due to faulty for the previous model, I can only reached around 1-5kbps TOPS for each task with 600% health status@@

Deluge is the BEST ever!! windows or linux platform, deluge is the tool for torrent BUT you got to know how to set up port right, otherwise full throttle won't be engaged cool2.gif
a lot of people dun know about DELUGE and they kept bragging about other pathetic clients namely AZUREUS, UTORRENT.. just to name a few.. nothing comes close to DELUGE, period!
i've been using deluge for a year plus now and always at constant rate of 150++kbyte for 1mb line.. my best speed was 190kbyte.. try dat on other clients if u can..

donno where to post this question.. maybe here is ok biggrin.gif

here's the prob.. there are 4 pc, connected to a router-modem, using streamyx 1mb. my pc, the one which configured the DLink router, can connect to Ares and download without any prob. but the other pcs, all just formated, can't seem to connect to Ares. other p2p, like torrent, limewire, can connect as usual.

the os and ares used are the same version on each pc. you guys know how to fix this problem? does this have anything to do with the main pc configuring the Dlink router(username, pass)?
btw, the other pc have already tried using older/latest version of ares, still the same..

I wanted to block P2P activity in my office. My office's network consists of 3 PCs connected through router -> modem -> internet. Router is Linksys WRT54G on Tomato firmware. Ares and BitComet really get me headache whenever I want to do my work. I tried to talk with them, but no prevail. So by blocking is the only way to go. Kindly help.

I'm in Subang Jaya with a 512kb line. My Ares downloads move at 20-30kb only but when I download using FTP my Ares speed still 20-30kb but my FTP download speed also 20-30 kb. It seems that when I am downloading one file at a time the speed only reaches 20-30 kb but when downloading two files both speed of download same. Anyone know the problem why my download speed when doing one file so slow but when two files both also same speed?

i have a question. can someone explain what's throttling? also, the limit for p2p by streamux is a recently implemented thingy or was it like this all the while?

about 1 week ago, my download with bitcomet was touching max above 100kb/s...now it cannot go above 50kb/s. however, no problems with megaupload or other file sharing services. Can anyone explain?

Thanks

Did anyone experince the same slow down as mine? How to overcome it? Does subscribing to higher package can get higher speed? Any solution? notworthy.gif icon_question.gif

Anyone got anything to share on the network pattern they used to slow it down? Port? constant binary? traffic performance patterns etc? I just want to know anything I can do to speed it up... 20kB is really fxxking slow... doh.gif

YES YES shocking.gif , that is exactly why i came here. to see whether anyone else havin this problem.
i previously dload 90+kb/s and using 1mb as well.
it was the last 2-3 weeks tht it has slowed down to a crawl, about 20kb max oso...
however oni bitcomet is slow. when i launch the Speedometer the results i get shows 100kb/s

so its either this is an isolated incident, or we're looking at serious bandwidth throttling here... vmad.gif
Anyone else havin this problem?
i cant live without da tv shows and movies!

Just a slight joke i want to share, i remember my friends ( guild/clan mates ) from overseas who have 50-100mbs lines. They need cap their torrent download speed to 1mb/torrent because if they dont each of their torrent goes to 2mb/s. Imagine if you downloading 10 torrents per time. Your hard disk ( if old ones ) might be able to write at only 4mb/s. biggrin.gif
Wonder when will be the day in malaysia we need to cap our download speed ourself ( not by TMNut )

mind to ask about xunlei. anyone know how to count the experience points for levelling in member level beside that 70 points formula per day? (1 downloaded file = 5points, max points = 50 = 10 downloaded files + 20 points for 20 consequent hours for logged in the xunlei account)

Ur only choice , in order to get max speed on your streamyx is to use a vpn connection. Alot of providers for it.

surely u will be able to get your max speed no matter you're on a 1 / 2 /4 mbps package..

I hosted a torrent which has almost all the music files for an international O2Jam private server in Indonesia(admin is a Filipino). Those are not illegal material of any sort, JUST FILE SHARING. And yet, after 2 weeks of being a 24/7 seed, not a single peer even reached 20%(first peer used my torrent just a day after I posted the torrent and never stopped the download). The files are about 4 Gigs large and most of them are official musics. I abandoned the torrent because of the b****y internet and let another guy host it but till now, nobody wanted to.

The private server is primarily know in South East Asia because the official O2Jam(now closed except O2PH, O2KR, and some China private servers) was only franchised in Asia. Although it WAS International, not many Western people knew it because of Guitar Hero and O2Jam's bad graphics.

I can understand your frustration, sorry to hear about that. It's so disappointing that even when you do something legit it doesn't turn out due to isp restrictions. It's odd however since I've never been throttled on the uploading part, always just on the download side. I know it's probably of no use for me saying this but is any other method viable for you to try, perhaps setting up as an ftp host? I understand torrenting it would be the best option, but maybe try something else until someone has a new obfuscation method to bypass [besides the utp thing in utorrent, which perhaps you could try as well].

TMNUT can block port ? You should do port forwarding yourself thru ur modem settings i suppose doh.gif that port wont auto go green all the time.

Port and IP same meaning ? IP = Internet protocol. I dont think they're the same.

We cannot unthrottle it but we can choose alternative method which is find those bittorent software which tmnut not yet successfully throttle it. good luck

Do some research in torrenting / ways to tweak your settings before you whine about tmnut. They gives slow net speed perhaps but im sure there're ways to counter it. See if you want to make effort to do or not. 2mb package i suppose it should go beyond 80kb/s ish for downloads. 1mb package able to go up till max 85kb/s. as for 512 package max will be 59kb/s. This is according to what i know.

I know it might sound stupid sorry but what is NAT port mapping, UPNP device, TCP and UDP ? And also which range of listen port is the best for bitcomet? Before that, my download still ok around 30kb but now only around 2 to 7kb. I was wondering why. If tracker connection error, it is my connection? Is it my connection fault if NAT port mapping: Failed [UPNP device not found!]?

Can someone confirm this, is Streamyx blocking access to bit torrent trackers recently ( 1 months ago after the recent cable cut ) ??

Some of the major ones have been blocked but those tracker hosting open source like linux was not blocked..

This is in violation of the term of access...

Anyone else experience this ??

there's no answer for your question..
but in my experience, use any port with 5 digit...
but remember to forward port for your ip..
better set static ip in your computer for easier configuration...

In a nutshell (oh, spare me the nutpicking!):
NAT - If you're behind a router, it helps passes data back and forth. Without it, data coming your way would end up slamming into the router. Dead.
UPnP - Magic. Automatically configures forwarding of ports (only if your software supports it).
TCP & UDP - Two different methods of sending data around. You should check which your program uses, and if adding the forwarding manually, make sure you know which (or just add both on the same port for good measure).

As for the tracker problems, you shouldn't be getting any issues with it if you can browse websites - the BT tracker protocol runs on HTTP, for the most part. And since those trackers usually maintain good uptimes, you know whose fault it is.. whistling.gif

I have like 600 seeds and the leech is only around 50-70 and most of the time i get around 80-100kbs using 1mbStreamyx,and now i am getting like 10-15kbs?

Did Streamyx start some ninja throttle on our P2P slowly?

using BIZ5 Unifi package..

was downloading using xunlei just now, speed was around 500~600kbps..
well that is really fast for me already. but after 5 minutes it dropped tremendously till 1~5kbps. WHYYYYY?? sad.gif

my guess is that it is being throttled.. so whats the workaround for this issue? VPN?

TM is throttling those who download loads of bandwidth more strictly.
I've been there done that. But it mostly affects p2p. Other than that, still fine.

Have a Question to ask.
I'm using uTorrent.
I want to ask how to allow your bitTorrent client to connect to all available seeds? Because mostly the torrents i download, the seeds connected are far less than the available seeds, for example, 56(340).
And when the seeds are <than certain numbers i cant even connect to the seeds. For e.g one of my download is 0(29) where there are 29 available seeds but i connected to none... the torrent just stopped.... Any help?

Guys,
recently I install Ares 2.1.7.3041
but, after a while I realized that my Ares is not connecting.
Is there any recommendation on how to fix this?
btw, I'm using broadband.
and my broadband doesn't block any sites as TM does.

Thanks.
