Recent studies have shown that Tier-2 isps such as TM should be making even more money than losing with P2P traffics.
It makes me curious why they are blaming subscribers for hogging their bandwidth when P2P encourages the use of local bandwidth with peers. Take for example torrents. By having local peers, you avoid traffic from going out of the country. That allows the local backbone/national provider to actually make money out of it. Here's the important points of the article: QUOTE A third of BitTorrent traffic stays local: Thirty-two percent of BitTorrent traffic stays in the country of origin and 49 percent of traffic is intra-domain or crosses a single peering or sibling network link. http://gigaom.com/mobile/who-pays-for-your...it-isps-or-you/BitTorrent traffic doesn’t usually hit the big backbone transit providers: That’s partly because it stays local and partly because the largest amount of BitTorrent traffic stays inside a local area network run by a hosting company or enterprise. BitTorrent traffic occurs at the same time as peak web traffic and it’s growing: The old myth that BitTorrent users were up late at night seeding files has evolved and most users are sharing files during the day. Many are doing so during “peak traffic times,” which the researchers don’t disclose unless daytime means peak traffic time. All of these things affect how much it costs ISPs to support BitTorrent traffic, and the study concludes that for Tier 1 providers, it doesn’t affect costs. Tier 2 providers such as major backbone companies or big ISPs actually make money from BitTorrent traffic, while smaller ISPs that buy wholesale access from larger ISPs are paying for rather than profiting from transit charges due to BitTorrent traffic. Corporate or campus networks that see the most traffic also tend to pay for the privilege, and the study finds BitTorrent is “incurring significant transit charges for these networks. The small timers/corporate/campus networks are those such as smaller isps like YES, corporate leased line accounts and university leased lines. In fact, actually P2P traffic helps save international traffic. This is what countries such as Thailand does when overall they have smaller capacity than Malaysia in international bandwidth but still able to offer competitive 20mbps cable broadband. |

I haven't been using Xunlei for quite a while. Is it still free to use or is it payment required now? I also heard the website like GouGou had closed down, so where do you guys search for Xunlei media links?
Looking back, the days of KaZaA were some of the best times in history of Internet. I believe it was the golden era of P2P. I still miss the robustness and sheer unbelievable speed, ease of use and content this software holds. I don't think we'll see one like this anymore. QUOTE(Anime4000 @ Oct 2 2017, 01:29 PM) Set P2P to only accept "Require Encryption" (force), Nope, still got throttled.I can get high download speed over 900KB/s (8mbps streamyx) without VPN I use qBittorrent How TM DPI throttling work: 1) Detect the pattern if user is uploading as well downloading from same peers. 2) If yes, then throttle the peer to 0kb/s unless it is local TM peers. 3) If only downloading without uploading to peers, then don't throttle. As shown in your screenshot, you are not uploading. |

Deselecting those padding file won't corrupt your downloaded video or game.By the way, China just blocked all 'unregistered' UDP connections from its "internet" few days ago.... |
