Malaysia reiterates night-racing pledge
QUOTE Malaysia's Sepang circuit chief on Tuesday reiterated he was ready to host Formula One night races from next year as the shake-up of Asian Grand Prix gathers pace. Mokhzani Mahathir told AFP he had no problems with a night-racing clause in a new contract signed last month. Under the contract, Malaysia will continue to host races until 2015. It held its first Grand Prix in 1999 and its current agreement expires in 2010. "We just got the contract, we're going through the process of getting the 't's crossed and the 'i's dotted," said the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) chairman. "In terms of the new contract, it does say we must be prepared to do night racing... I have never had a problem with it," he said. Bernie Ecclestone has launched a push for night-racing in Asia, calling for the new Singapore Grand Prix to be held under lights. He has also warned the Australian Grand Prix will be moved abroad unless it is converted to a night event. But Mokhzani said there had long been plans for night racing in Malaysia. "We have been doing talking about doing night racing and doing it way before Bernie started talking about it," Mokhazani said. "But we put the proviso we must get FIA approval for the lights," he said, adding Sepang would talk to Ecclestone's own lighting experts. Mokhzani also said the SIC would consult with Malaysia's civil aviation department over the lighting, given Sepang's location near Kuala Lumpur International Airport. "Once we know what kind of lighting system we are going to put, we are also going to consult them. The light from the track may or may not be an issue for pilots," he said. Mokhzani earlier this month said the contract with the new clause would be signed this month and that Malaysia may host night races as early as next year. Source Whats with Bernie and night races? Now even Malaysia wanna host a night race. Is darkness the latest trend atm? |

that old bernie can watch a night race?
example: later his eye will play a fool on him, when a ferrari car cross the finish line to take the win, he taught a spyker might have just won a race |

The purpose of having races at night in Asia is to get more viewers in Europe and America because a night race in Asia means viewers in the two continents would get to view the race in daytime. More viewers means more coverage and more money goes to Bernie.

No 'Paris' GP this weekend Paris Hilton calls it off... QUOTE American socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton has called off her scheduled visit to the Monaco Grand Prix. we wont have paris hilton but will have malboro sign set up all over the placeShe was set to visit the glamorous Monte Carlo event as a guest of the Spyker team, to promote the fizzy alcoholic drink Rich Prosecco. But shortly after 26-year-old Hilton was booked for her Monaco appearance, she was handed a looming prison term for violating the terms of probation for a drink-driving charge. She will start the 23-day jail term on June 5. Meanwhile, it has emerged that cigarette logos will be displayed at the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend, despite widespread tobacco advertising bans.
