I heard the commentators on Astro saying that the Ferrari's front wheels are put much closer to the front compared to others. What do you think about that? Any pics to compare?

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Mar 17 2007, 08:40 PM) End result no offence linkin, your predictions were....wrong McLaren 1-2 (Fernando or Lewis, both seems equally fast), Kimi 3rd (or 2nd, depend on his drive), both BMW Sauber 4th and 5th, and then Fisico I have to say I did not expect Kimi to be that much faster but I did expect him to win this race. and another thing...Coulthard is really ridiculous with his overtaking maneuver. He almost took Wurz's head off!! This post has been edited by young_soul: Mar 18 2007, 01:06 PM |

QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Mar 18 2007, 01:13 PM) nah...I wouldn't put that much expectation for Massa. He can't perform as well as Kimi. Kimi started last a number of times when he was with McLaren...and ended up 2nd mostly. Even won once from the back I think |

QUOTE(edison_84 @ Mar 18 2007, 06:58 PM) ah, he started with medium...then switched to soft during his only stop in the race. That would also explain why he couldn't drive quickly in the race...preserving those soft tyres for 20+ laps is torture. Nice drive from Massa |

QUOTE(Hornet @ Mar 18 2007, 11:28 PM) ^ I notice his hands wasnt on that steering wheel. Good thing, else his fingers could have been crush. Coulthard should remember this incident for the rest of his life. If I'm not mistaken...he did a dangerous manoeuvre on Michael in Spa sometime back. Does anyone know the specifications of that incident?that's one accident he'll never forget |

QUOTE(Hornet @ Mar 19 2007, 12:50 AM) If i'm not mistaken, Michael was about to lap DC when DC lifted his accelerator (not sure which part of the circuit, but i think its a high speed section), it was a wet track, so lifting will cause the car to slow down very fast, Michael crash into DC. I only saw the clip of Michael walking down the pitlane to whack Coulthard on youtube. I think Ross Brawn and a few Ferrari pitcrew tried to hold him back that time Added on March 19, 2007, 2:02 am QUOTE(KimRoss @ Mar 19 2007, 01:13 AM) Should be spa.. Micheal's favourite track, but never got a string of good results there. so if there's any place, should be that,, cos micheal is pretty GOSU in other tracks dun worry, you'll see it end of this year I miss spa, the track was GOOD =3 This post has been edited by young_soul: Mar 19 2007, 02:02 AM |

it will be if Davidson can't race for the rest of the season...
source QUOTE(Sutil shunt proving a pain for Davidson) It is understood that Anthony Davidson, complaining of upper back pain after finishing the Australian Grand Prix, is still at The Alfred hospital in Melbourne following initial precautionary checks. This post has been edited by young_soul: Mar 19 2007, 03:17 AMThe Briton's Super Aguri Honda landed heavily after locking wheels with the Spyker Ferrari of fellow rookie Adrian Sutil early in the 58-lap Australian Grand Prix. "The jolt also winded me a lot making talking on the radio difficult," he said in a post-race statement. It is believed that Davidson had x-rays and could stay in hospital overnight, after he was taken out of the circuit on a stretcher and apparently in considerable pain with back muscle spasms. Davidson ended the opening race of the season in 16th position, some 72 seconds ahead of Sutil. |

QUOTE(Amanda85 @ Mar 19 2007, 12:30 PM) actually if you think about it...there is an advantage of stopping later. The driver can take 1 lap of fuel less than the person who stopped earlier, and his tyres are 'newer' although they're probably not at the optimum temp to perform well. |

This is VERY lame to me...
QUOTE McLaren Mercedes boss Ron Dennis has accused BMW Sauber of 'showboating' in the Australian Grand Prix. Hinwil based BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld had an impressive start to the Melbourne race, leaping ahead of Fernando Alonso, but the German made his first pit stop very early and was among only three competitors to start on the 'soft' tyre. In the official post-race press release, Dennis described BMW's strategy as 'unexpected' and 'very disruptive' to McLaren's plans to win. Later, the British chief told reporters: "Our race was seriously compromised by the Heidfeld strategy, which we just didn't understand. It smacked of showboating in the opening part of the race I watched the repeat of the Australian GP interview today. Did anyone realize Kimi lost his radio communication since the start of the race? Maybe that's why he was able to focus well in his race. And another thing...Alonso's reasoning for coming 2nd was absolute rubbish! Man, he couldn't shut up. Kept talking about why he hasn't performed well in Aust over the years...bla bla bla...Fisi doing better than him in Renault...bla bla bla...new team...bla bla bla |

QUOTE(verx @ Mar 19 2007, 08:58 PM) Stop taking things out of context. The way the interviews work; they are after all just answering the questions put to them. Besides i don't remember him reasoning anything about finishing 2nd but that's just maybe me. well, if you really want to be specific...the guy asked about his younger teammate. Alonso answered up to Fisichella in Renault last year...1) Fisi is older 2) talking about last year? These two, I believe are out of context. Dunno lah...it just seems like nonsense to me. Just like last year when he blamed his pit-crew...not for the wheel-nut mistake, but blame them for not wanting the #1 car to be moved to McLaren. But u wanna know one thing that baffles me...Kimi claimed he lost radio communication for the race...yet after he crossed the finish line....tada..we hear Mr Todt and his race engineer: Congratz Kimi...great job...bla bla Odd don't u think About the radio...did Kimi reply the radio message? Ya know...it could be that the station only picked up the message to Kimi but Kimi still couldn't hear the message? Maybe not radio problem...could be just the headphones |

I just found out something too...you guys saw that phone conversation just before the trophy presentation? Kimi say...'maybe' its Michael
QUOTE (Tobias Holtkamp - Bild) Kimi, who was on the phone that Jean Todt gave you? KR: I think it was Michael, but the line was pretty bad so I couldn't hear him. More on Michael (Georg Nolte - Bild) Kimi, how did you and Michael work together in the last month? KR: I have seen him twice -- when they launched the car and I think at one test. He came, but I left at the same time almost. So, we haven't really been spending time More on Kimi's radio prob (Paolo Ianieri - La Gazzetta dello Sport) Kimi did you see the accident involving Wurz and Coulthard on the big screen? KR: No. I saw just a little picture of it. I didn't have time to look too much. But luckily enough, with the problem with the radio that we had, if the safety car had come out... so, it was good that it didn't. |

QUOTE(verx @ Mar 20 2007, 12:19 AM) Actually the reporter asked whether this was the 1st time he was pushed hard by a teammate. Alonso replied that Fisichella and Trulli had pushed him hard before mentioning Fisi's win in Aussie...To me it just sounds like he's trying to be politically correct and not offend any of his previous teammates. Maybe u misintepreted what he was trying to say.. sourceAnd u might be right...Kimi probably couldn't pick up the broadcast nope, reporter did not mention anything like that. He said "And a lot of speed from your younger teammate. He overtook you at the start of the race and you spent much of the race following him." And then Alonso answered...but he didn't mention anything on Truli. Where did you get that from Anyway I dun think the reporter meant any offence in his question. |

car's aerodynamics and all affect the performance leh....just look at Flabio...he even said shifting to Bridgestone affected Renault's performance. Still not sure how true that is though

a driver doesn't need to have detailed information during a race. It will disrupt his focus in the race. That's why the pitboard only give so little info. Any other information can be managed by his team. That's what the team is there for
QUOTE(verx @ Mar 20 2007, 10:17 AM) Ah i thought u meant another question...I was referring to the question asked by Livio Oricchio from O Estado de Sao Paulo...It's in the link u gave...seems like u didn't really read everything did u.. nah...I couldn't listen to another one of Alonso's rumbling nonsense...turned off the TV after he mentioned Fisi and went to bed Besides even for that question u were referring to i didn't see anything wrong with what he answered... anyway...here we go again - QUOTE A new row about the legality of formula one cars could be about to break out in the pit lane of 2007. The website of American broadcaster Speed TV reports that the under-body of Ferrari's dominant F2007 machine came under quiet scrutiny by rivals and the FIA in Australia. It is suggested that the car's floor might have been designed to give a performance advantage by moving, which - as in the 'flexing wings' sagas of last year - is illegal. Predictably, the leading antagonist of the new saga appears to be McLaren, who reportedly suspect that Ferrari's floor lowers at speed to give Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa an unfair speed boost in a straight line. "We will see how things are in two or three races," McLaren Team Principal Ron Dennis said, explaining that rival teams often seek clarification about rule interpretations early in the season. He added: "So it takes a race or two to know what is or isn't permitted." A Ferrari spokesman commented: "It's part of the game any time Ferrari is quickest. It's not the first time that there have been questions about legality. "If someone has a complaint, there is always the FIA." |

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Mar 20 2007, 06:43 PM) Nonsense. Schumacher likes to know what's happening all around him all the time. How many times does he ends up being WC? You're telling me that he's so specific about the details even during race time? And I do mean really specific details. As in on which precise lap his closest competitor last pitted, compared to his...or exactly how many seconds the fuel filler was attached to his opponent's car, type of tyres that went on the car...or even each sector time comparison between his and the opponent? And on the Ferrari car issue, teams have legit reason to complain can complain. Liek when Ferrari complained of McLaren's brake cooler in 98' or McLaren's 3rd braking system also in teh same year. Both are legal and yet was banned... interesting isn't it? if you say that he does take in those info...then fine, I'm wrong. This post has been edited by young_soul: Mar 21 2007, 02:45 AM |
