Question on Azureus 2.5.0.0 + Paw

Under Tools->Options->Connection-> Proxy Options

[Tracker communications]
Enable proxying of trackers communications = checked
I have a SOCKS proxy = unchecked

Host = localhost
Port = 8888
Username = empty
Password = empty

[Peer communications]
Enable proxying of peer communications = checked
Inform tracker of limitation = checked
SOCKS version = V4 (default)
Use same proxy settings for tracker and peer communications proxy = checked

I get an OK tracker status, but no downloads. Any idea? My feeling is all seeders aren't local seeders (trying to download JAS 10.4.8 Intel AMD Mac OS X).

regards.

That's my exact same settings in Azureus except the username and password is changed to the edited one on "conf/server.xml".

All my torrents are still red.

Testing localhost/8080 proxy using Firefox = OK

Since 8080 is supposed to be my own com I did not do any changes except "unblock" when the Windows XP thing pops up the first time upon clicking "StartServer".

What is wrong? What possible things can I do?

Haven't tried Proxymitron yet, want to see if startServer works or not first.

Help! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

edit ---> One weird thing, when exiting Azureus when the firefox-localhost-proxy-test browser is open, the browser closes as well. Is this normal?

edit 2 --> Silver, thanks for quick reply, I'm more concerned about the torrents being red after doing startServer. Please help!! cry.gif cry.gif

edit 3 --> I'm using a different port number for Azureus, not 8080, should I change it to 8080? The NAT/Server port for the number I'm using tested 'OK but.. here's the strange thing, the infobar on the lower part of the Azureus GUI says it's firewalled and is red instead of green.

It wasn't red before I used satrtServer or changed Azu to use proxy. What happened?

I'm having the same problem too. It will connect to local peers in the list, but not to international peers. Still havent figured out a way to solve this problem.

No, that's not normal.

Currently my uTorrent is on a different port (20000) and it is opened in NAT and Firewall settings on my router page.

It seems your bittorrent can't even connect to port 20000. Try disabling UPnP and do your port forwarding manually.

the user agents string, which one should i copy into?
example: IE 3.01
3.01 on Windows 98 - Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.01; Windows 98)
so should i just copy Mozilla/2.0 (compatible; MSIE 3.01; Windows 98)?

Tried most of the solution posted here.

The one that works best for me is using BitSpirit v2.0
Set user agent to "none" and select "enable HTTP Extension for hand shake of BT protocol" and my download now runs ok.
The problem is the Seed and Peer detected is much less then other BT client.

I edited my post above, the problem still persists, please help.

I switched off startServer, and unticked the proxy options in Azureus, and now the NAT OK is visible, no longer firewalled.

But the situation is back to square one, blocked and 0 B/s.

Could be a few reasons, the peer you connected to might have disconnected you. Though it is more likely you got throttled, but if you can download means this solution has worked for you.

This solution doesn't improve your download speeds.

The proxy port and your bittorrent port are different. You only need to set the proxy port, leave your bittorrent port alone. If your proxy server is running on port 8080, then set the proxy port to 8080. Using any other port number wouldn't work.

considering that amount... just be patient. In that list there should be some malaysian seeds/peers. So if you wait you would eventually connect to them. That's been my experience anyway.

Looks like throttling kicked in again, this time all local peers are being either jammed or throttled altogether. See pix... hmm.gif

Affects browsing too. BTW, I noticed this for a couple of weeks at least already. The net goes boom just after midnight. It used to be for a while but times vary until it comes back up, usually around 2am.

Wonder what the ISP is doing (or not doing).

Jeez.

Wonder what's up. The speed seems to be going at full-tilt boogie although some are still connected but not moving.

Also, there appears 2b some problem with private tracker sites. Think it has something to do with the proxy setting. Private sites can't see me no more.
