About Port 8080, besides changing that in the BT client, do I need to set it in the firewall as well or it's two unrelated things?

Question on Azureus 2.5.0.0 + Paw

Under Tools->Options->Connection-> Proxy Options

[Tracker communications]
Enable proxying of trackers communications = checked
I have a SOCKS proxy = unchecked

Host = localhost
Port = 8888
Username = empty
Password = empty

[Peer communications]
Enable proxying of peer communications = checked
Inform tracker of limitation = checked
SOCKS version = V4 (default)
Use same proxy settings for tracker and peer communications proxy = checked

I get an OK tracker status, but no downloads. Any idea? My feeling is all seeders aren't local seeders (trying to download JAS 10.4.8 Intel AMD Mac OS X).

regards.

That's my exact same settings in Azureus except the username and password is changed to the edited one on "conf/server.xml".

All my torrents are still red.

Testing localhost/8080 proxy using Firefox = OK

Since 8080 is supposed to be my own com I did not do any changes except "unblock" when the Windows XP thing pops up the first time upon clicking "StartServer".

What is wrong? What possible things can I do?

Haven't tried Proxymitron yet, want to see if startServer works or not first.

Help! rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

edit ---> One weird thing, when exiting Azureus when the firefox-localhost-proxy-test browser is open, the browser closes as well. Is this normal?

edit 2 --> Silver, thanks for quick reply, I'm more concerned about the torrents being red after doing startServer. Please help!! cry.gif cry.gif

edit 3 --> I'm using a different port number for Azureus, not 8080, should I change it to 8080? The NAT/Server port for the number I'm using tested 'OK but.. here's the strange thing, the infobar on the lower part of the Azureus GUI says it's firewalled and is red instead of green.

It wasn't red before I used satrtServer or changed Azu to use proxy. What happened?

I edited my post above, the problem still persists, please help.

I switched off startServer, and unticked the proxy options in Azureus, and now the NAT OK is visible, no longer firewalled.

But the situation is back to square one, blocked and 0 B/s.

4) Configure your BT client to use this proxy..
5) Launch Proxomitron log windows and then start your torrent task to see if it works..

Proxomitron was using port 8080 on default so if u're behind a router, forward port 8080..

How do I do 4 and 5 in Azureus? I spent hours last night trying out startServer, failed, trying out proxymitron now.

Now trying to understand step 4 and 5 of Proxymitron.

I tried startServer last nite but failed. Somehow Azureus got firewalled, I did as Silver said, not messing with the BT client's tracker but only adding localhost+8080 to Azureus proxy but the NAT is still red until I removed the proxy.

This is how it looks using the Azu client.

uTorrent behaving weird

I'm using utorrent and something weird keeps happening.. in queueing I set 7 maximum active ul/dl and 5 maximum active dl but after every few hours almost all the torrents in queue seem to start downloading, and this makes it hard for the torrents at the top to dl properly as everything slows to a crawl.

Bug?
