The dumbshit ISP should have done the pay per GB thing right from the start.

Instead, they think its their god-given right to impose terms as they like, and change it randomly to suit their purposes. And that we shouldn't whine when they give us the shaft. Those retards can't even bill us correctly for what is essentially a monopolistic service.

I think its a good idea to pay-per-use. On one hand, we DL people pay more, but on the other, we pay nothing when there are Earthquakes, Floods (forgive me, my friends in affected areas) and Incompetence. From our ISP lah. Dun believe all their crap about blaming God. God is probably gonna punish their candy-asses for all that corruption and blame they heap upon HIM.

Ah, back to topic. Sorry ah!

However, pay-per-use also means that I want super-fast speeds. Something like 10-f***ing-mbps or more. If I am going to be paying, I don't want to be waiting around for the files to DL. Call it arrogance, whatever. I want my goddamn files to be on my PC, chop-chop and I dont have time to piss around waiting for them to DL.

I also think that we should start DL user groups. If I am paying through my ass for the latest CSI season from US, then I would be very interested in splitting the bill with other people who want that too. Why enrich your ISP?

The alternative is for us to band together and get our own pipe. I would be interested in sharing costs if it were possible to set up a proxy. (PM if you have a good alternative with a fair price.)

The way this is going, in the end, we might as well just buy DVDs, Rip+Burn and then take file-sharing back to the days before broadband = Manual Labour lah!

So much for our f***ing Super Corridor thing. We didn't

a) build any good infrastructure
b) develop any serious world-beating technology
c) develop much useful content

(sorry about the profanity, but it seems to be the best way to enunciate one's feelings.)

Silverhawk, you mentioned something about activating the StartServer and then leaving the window open. My window goes away by itself and my speeds are pathetic. Am I doing something wrong?

(I have javaw.exe running in the background and PAW says that my server is running fine.) However, my utorrents have mostly gone Blue colour icons since using your method. Is it just my torrents?

Hmm the window should be there, but yes, the speed will still be crap, though you can finally connect to trackers.

Waiting for someone who can make the proxy server turn into a https, socks4, socks5 compatible server hehehe(and this might fix the problem).

You said the server is running fine is it? Maybe it is all right for the window to go away then tongue.gif .

Thanks, but my speeds are at 5kB whereas others claim 30kB so I was wondering if I did something wrong. If it means anything, sometimes connections to the US and elsewhere work at low speeds of below 5kB.

I didn't think that TM would turn a blind eye to this for very long. Now its just a matter of waiting for the next development to beat whatever restrictions they have imposed. rclxm9.gif

I keep getting 'Proxy connect error: offline (timed out)' in the tracker status field of utorrent 1.6. Anybody can guide on what is the likely problem?

Proxomitron will do the job as well.. smile.gif
U can see from the log here(attached image)..

Proxomitron filter "disable"
"++Get 10+++"
user agent was utorrent/1600 and i get disconnect from tracker..

after that i enable Proxomitron filter and updating the tracker in utorrent..
"++Get 11++".. user agent changed and utorrent get a response from tracker..
*
Could you please help a bit with the Proxomitron settings that need to be tweaked to get that effect? Step-by-step please, if possible.

Thanks

Affects browsing too. BTW, I noticed this for a couple of weeks at least already. The net goes boom just after midnight. It used to be for a while but times vary until it comes back up, usually around 2am.

Wonder what the ISP is doing (or not doing).

Jeez.

Wonder what's up. The speed seems to be going at full-tilt boogie although some are still connected but not moving.

Also, there appears 2b some problem with private tracker sites. Think it has something to do with the proxy setting. Private sites can't see me no more.

Difficult, or impossible?
*
Difficult. I have some links running to US and Europe with reasonable speeds of 4-8 kB. However, I also have 402 errors with other torrents, and 402 means bad gateways.

I guess they just pulled the cable up from the sea to fix it together. rclxms.gif Or our ISP just effed-up our own gateways. You pays your money and takes your pick, eh?

I'm using Azureus.
Now trying to understand step 4 and 5 of Proxymitron.
I tried startServer last nite but failed. Somehow Azureus got firewalled, I did as Silver said, not messing with the BT client's tracker but only adding localhost+8080 to Azureus proxy but the NAT is still red until I removed the proxy.

This is how it looks using the Azu client.
*
OK. First of all, it doesn't happen right away IMHO. You would have to fresh reboot after configuring the Proxomitron (PM). You Azureus looks OK, but I'm no expert on that client.

Anyway, lets talk about PM config first.

1. When you start PM, the important thing is to make sure that 'Outgoing Header Filters' is checked on the Active Filters list.

2. Click on 'Headers' under the Edit Filters list on the right. It pops up a larger window with a whole list of items and check boxes. First of all make sure you know which checkboxes are for In and which are for Out.

3. Then scroll down until you find the 6 items with User-agent near the bottom of the list. Pick one, it doesn't matter. I'm using the Opera one. Remember, the Out check box, not the In one. Then Click OK at the bottom to get back to the main PM window.

4. If the green diskette icon is lighted up at the top, save your settings so that you don't have to do it again.

Now this is the part I'm guessing. The first time I hit the Log Window it didn't show me much. However, after rebooting Windows, (I think the reboot slows down a bit. Please tell me if it happens 2u2.) the torrents start to pick up, but still very slowly

The sequence now appears 2b important.
Reboot, then connect to the Internet first. Start PM program and your browser if you are connected to any private trackers and login. Open the PM Log Window and finally start your BT client after everything is already running. It did not work quite right 4me when the BT client starts b4 the PM program.

It takes a while and then you should see lots of gibberish in the PM Log Window. After half an hour or so, you should get a little bit of speed on your BT. Then again, it is subject to where your peers are.

Our ISP has a different definition of Internet, and imagines that Internet means no need to connect to other countries. Must be some new goddamn Kamus.

I agree. That's why I stop posting already. Even the help with the Proxomitron also, no reply as to whether is works or not. Very annoying habit of Malaysian users.

Also, some questions can be better answered by doing some Google research instead of asking other users to do the work. Don't be effing lazy-lah!

Not only that, the press releases announcing the delays to 23rd and then to 29th are gone! Are they pretending that nothing has happened? Anybody want to bet that it will take a few thousand fire pigs to come and chase those a$$holes to do their work and finish it by Chap Goh Mei?

Oink!

Can someone confirm whether trackers are unblocked now? Mine's still blocked btw.
*
Nearly all my private trackers are dead. They were running for a couple of days last week though. However, some error messages lead me to believe that it is more the unconnected undersea cables than TM's competence at blocking torrents. Hope this situation improves once the cables are replaced.

(Still no announcement. They must be trying to find the effing cable on the ocean floor) shakehead.gif shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

if you read the title of columns as the "screws" you can see that:
1. jaring users get two screws (col 1 & 5)
2. tmnut users get one screw but should be 2 (col 1 AND 5, needs update!)

and there are a lot of more screws in their arsenal... sweat.gif
*
Your point being that either way we get screwed left, right and sideways? doh.gif
