Lacus I just started hiding both of my SSID
Devices are still connected & the router is still running. How long did it take for the router to hang / die?

Less than 2 minutes  It's not exactly "die", just that i cannot access the gui anymore..

It's more than 5 minutes now, there router is still running fine & I still can access the GUI
Also tried logging into the GUI from multiple wireless devices, everything is still accessible

PS: I have 4 devices connected through ethernet cable & 8 devices connected through Wi-Fi (all using 5.0GHz)

I believe your issue is an isolated incident

Just curious, how do you connect router if you are using streamyx ? You are using a modem and not 2 in 1 modem router for your streamyx connection. OR you are using Huawei as a switch or AP

Indeed it is, same firmware that I install for my friend but it's working fine. Only mine
Modem router set to bridge mode, connected to WS880 as wireless router.

Are you using stock firmware or 3rd party firmware ?

Ah forgot to mention, Xwrt-Vortex, the latest version available.. Sadly it's kinda weird for me. It only works properly if i have my another wireless router turn on .. if not after a while it just become unaccessable

The easiest way to get into the emergency upgrade page is to set static IP in your computer before you connect the router to your computer

IP Address: 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

I've flashed 4 units of WS880 this way without a hickup

After uploading the modified WS880_Trans.Bin file, let the router reboot itself, do not do anything until you see a different page displayed on your internet browser

Once you are on the CFE miniWeb Server page, upload the firmware of your choice. In this instance, the first few uploads may fail. Just retry uploading using several browser until you arrive at a different page saying the upload succeeeded

While doing all this, DO NOT turn off your router at all

The ASUS Router Android app recognizes the Huawei WS880 (flashed with Xwrt-Vortex firmware) as an ASUS RT-AC68U.

This is really great! We are buying a nearly RM1K router for only RM199! 

For the router app, did you have to rename the router wifi or something?
I tried using that app, but it doesn't detect the router like yours did
