Hang on, let me check if I also have that issue by hiding both my 2.4GHz & 5.0GHz SSID
Will get back to you

Addendum: How long did it take for the router to hang / die?
*
Less than 2 minutes sweat.gif It's not exactly "die", just that i cannot access the gui anymore.. Current workaround is to turn on the original small router laugh.gif Oh, btw using Streamyx tongue.gif

Lacus I just started hiding both of my SSID
Devices are still connected & the router is still running. How long did it take for the router to hang / die?

It's more than 5 minutes now, there router is still running fine & I still can access the GUI
Also tried logging into the GUI from multiple wireless devices, everything is still accessible

PS: I have 4 devices connected through ethernet cable & 8 devices connected through Wi-Fi (all using 5.0GHz)

I believe your issue is an isolated incident

Just curious, how do you connect router if you are using streamyx ? You are using a modem and not 2 in 1 modem router for your streamyx connection. OR you are using Huawei as a switch or AP

Modem router set to bridge mode, connected to WS880 as wireless router.

Bro, tried it via WiFi yet?
Just tested through WiFi
Indeed, it's stuck at the Complete screen when doing it through WiFi, had to press F5 in order to refresh the screen

Ah forgot to mention, Xwrt-Vortex, the latest version available.. Sadly it's kinda weird for me. It only works properly if i have my another wireless router turn on doh.gif.. if not after a while it just become unaccessable doh.gif

If got demand at such price, they wouldn't sell it at 199. Even at 299, I wouldn't recommend it to beginners. 1y warranty product that lack English documentation and support. Not to mention you will void the warranty the moment you flash the third-party firmware as there is no easy way to flash back the stock firmware.

Then that's an annoying bug. I just can't figure/understand why it behaves like that on WiFi as technically it's the same thing, the configuration web page should not be treating wired and wireless differently. hmm.gif

Guys, so I'm trying to unlock the bootloader here
Just need some confirmation for the ip address for CFE
Should it be 192.168.3.1 or 192.168.1.1?

Read my previous post:

The easiest way to get into the emergency upgrade page is to set static IP in your computer before you connect the router to your computer

IP Address: 192.168.1.4
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1

I've flashed 4 units of WS880 this way without a hickup

After uploading the modified WS880_Trans.Bin file, let the router reboot itself, do not do anything until you see a different page displayed on your internet browser

Once you are on the CFE miniWeb Server page, upload the firmware of your choice. In this instance, the first few uploads may fail. Just retry uploading using several browser until you arrive at a different page saying the upload succeeeded

While doing all this, DO NOT turn off your router at all

Ok, thanks
Since unlock bootloader voids the warranty
Could I just flash back to hk firmware/does it relock the bootloader?

The ASUS Router Android app recognizes the Huawei WS880 (flashed with Xwrt-Vortex firmware) as an ASUS RT-AC68U.

This is really great! We are buying a nearly RM1K router for only RM199!  rclxms.gif

For the router app, did you have to rename the router wifi or something?
I tried using that app, but it doesn't detect the router like yours did

The app will only work once you're using AsusWRT firmware
The app won't work with stock firmware
