There is only 1 weakness for buying the TM-AC1900 version of ASUS RT-AC68U:
The product doesn't come with any warranty

i had successfully configured openvpn in xwrt@WS880, as a vpn server and vpn client.

As a vpn server, let you to connect to your home network remotely, i use this to access my home esxi lab from office. I changed the port to TCP443 to bypass corporate firewall.

As a vpn client, establish vpn from this router to my openvpn server (VPS). It is very nice that the firmware let me to do policy based vpn routing, ie only let specific local machine via vpn while the rest of the machine go direct to internet. In my case, i let my download station to use vpn for torrenting (privacy) while the rest of the devices is going for direct internet (speed).

With the new announcement of UniFi Turbo, just asking if WS880 is capable of getting 800Mbps (or close to 800Mbps)?

I saw the specs, looks OK but would like to hear from you guys. My UniFi is relocated to my sister's house and my sister is quite meticulous with spending, I'm quite sure she won't be willing to spend more just to get 800Mbps when she is very happy now with 100Mbps. laugh.gif

Luckily I only go back once every fortnight, so I won't use it that much else I will rage if I don't see 800Mbps. laugh.gif

Everyone so worried about their router being able to hit 800mbps or not. doh.gif

Ever asked yourself if your devices even support 1gbps over wifi in the first place?

Since I am the only posted here asking and I guess you were referring to my post.
I'm not sure if my devices support but Google says yes. I'm using LG V30+ and Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th generation. smile.gif

I'm generalizing, not you specifically.

It's in about every active thread the whole day, same question.

Hmm. Strangely enough you chose this thread to post this comment and your first post in this thread.
Never mind.

Very true. I think most people won't. Even for myself, I only have 2 laptops which can reach 850Mbps, can't touch 1Gbps on WiFi. Granted that they're 5-year old models but still. Moreover, I was using a cheap RM175 Aztech, maybe that's why.

I can see that some of you are really good in Networking products. With the new TM turbo plan, there will be a great demand(10k-100k??) for cheap but good performance router. May be it is a good time to start an online biz buying cheap routers like ws880, update it and selling to this market.
