received my CIMB CR together with CIMB Tesco card today.
Immediately call CS to activate CR and cancel Tesco card, it redirect to CIMB Card Centre and they offer me swipe RM200 to get RM30 rebate for the CIMB Tesco card.
They will immediately credit RM15 first, then I swipe any purchase for RM200 within 1 month, can get another RM15 in next 3 month (total RM30).
So I accepted the offer, will cancel it after the other RM15 received.  biggrin.gif

I cannot check if the RM15 posted in the CIMB Tesco or not because unable to activate CIMB click right now since I have not set my own PIN for the card yet.

My History:
29th Aug - submit via cimb "Apply Online Now"
1st Sep - CIMB call for verification + request supporting doc, document sent in same day
5th Sep - approved and card sent out
9th Sep - received card.

hmm.. surely the cashback rebate will only be posted to you on the following statement? then you have to keep swiping to get the rebate? shocking.gif

first RM15 will credit in first, remaining RM15 will only credit within 3 months after i swipe rm200

so basically I just use the CIMB Tesco card for RM200 anything then throw to drawer and wait for cashback.
After received the cashback, i think can ask to transfer the Credit balance to CIMB CR card before I cancel it.
If cannot, just pay RM15 any bill to use the rebate before cancel it

btw, this CIMB Tesco seems like really not attractive, Aeon & Aeon big card are better than this for co-branded cc

see the due date in your statement.
should be 28th + 20 days.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 9 2016, 09:52 AM)
same with other cc: 20 days after statement date.

you can find out from the Statement.

28 Jul statement = 17 Aug due date
28 Aug statement = 17 Sep due date
28 Sep statement = 18 Oct due date
28 Oct statement = 17 Nov due date
28 Nov statement = 18 Dec due date
i generally dont like due date that's crossing month, cuz i cant follow the exact due date. some months 1 day early, some 1 day later biggrin.gif

i prefer statement date early of the month, so that due date (+20 days) will fall within same month, so the date is always "fixed".
QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 9 2016, 09:55 AM)

+20 days.

Last time I go apply 1 hour approval Tesco card, was existing CR holder, they didn't say anything, it is shared credit limit, no need document, it is a very low limit, but I don't swipe much,

Just for fun actually, but they do credit RM50 a month later, I have no complaint*

They didn't promise any RM50, so I was pass by at KLCC card centre, so I asked if can get the Tesco card within an hour, they said yes, so I just take apply it then

Will cancel after 1 year after they reduce the club card points smile.gif

Not purposely want to self advertise but.. (cybpsych pls forgive) if you are using Android phone you can download a credit card app (see my signature) that keep tracks of all these dates automatically. It is free anyway.

Another question does that means everything I pay through posonline to AEON CC give me 5% (after 2 percent deduction from posonline)?
Like unifi, mobile bill, TNB, online shopping and etc....

Also another scenario if I shop at AEON big I earn cashback through the AEON big card and when comes to settle my bill I paid again using CIMB CC again so I earn double cash back,
is this workable? smile.gif

yes you can charge all to aeon card but take note of the online transaction cash back card you are using.
if you have pbb vs is around rm833/month and for cimb plat cb is around rm600/month, remember to factor in the 2% amount in there too nod.gif

I think first page should put in information such as whether bill payment at UOB payonline will get the 5% cash back or not.
And also other transaction that will/will not get the 5% cash back, such as pos online.

Hi, people... need your advice here.

My application for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card got rejected. I think it's because I have 5 credit cards from 2 banks (2 Maybank cards + 3 UOB cards).

1. If I cancel 1 Maybank card & 2 UOB cards, which means I have 2 cards left, can I apply for a new CIMB card? Will it get approved? If I cancel old cards & the application doesn't get approved, I'll be sad.gif

2. I have a CIMB account but that's not the main account I use. If I deposit more $$ in the account regularly, will the chances of getting a CIMB credit card be increased?

My income is steadily above 5k & I'm a good paymaster with good credit ratings. I have many cards because those banks called & offered me to use them a few years ago. It's just that now I shop online a lot, I need a good credit card for online shopping.

Any advice? Is it easy to get approval?

p.s. Actually when I submitted the application form, the exec also asked me to apply for another CIMB card since I fit all their criteria. (>.<)
