QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 1 2016, 05:37 PM) Just tell them don't need that. During my time, they wanted to issue CIMB Reward card too, I told them no and no. Nothing was sent to me except for CIMB CR Plat. QUOTE(kawteem @ Sep 1 2016, 05:46 PM) That's not right. Did you cross your IC copy and stated for xx card application only? That's what I've been doing when applying for new CC. And small initial next to your choice of CC is a good practice too. Just my 2 cents. I tell them I just want to apply CIMB CR, but they say they will still send in 2 card since it is combined credit limit and free annual fee. I think we can request to cancel card before activation, right? |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 7 2016, 08:54 PM) No, I don't think so. It's still at stage two? No date shown in stage 3 onward. I think you will need to call CS to clarify. If based on my understanding, I don't think it's approved yet. Previously the last 2 tick is in grey colorAnd the last one is "approved/cancelled/rejected" Will try to call cs later. Wonder they have IVR for card applications status? |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 8 2016, 10:56 AM) card application is approved, which i tried apply in Mar and May get rejected from CIMB card centre, but success via online application on Aug.Maybe perhaps I accept the agent offer that issue 2 card (CIMB CR + CIMB Tesco). The credit limit is shared and both card is annual fee waive for life. Question is, will this 2 card appear as separate card in CCRIS report which will give impression to other bank that I hold one more extra card? Or CCRIS will show the information based on the credit limit only? |

QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 8 2016, 12:05 PM) Wonder will it same with MBB 2 card, which listed 2 card under 1 credit facility. After checked the CIMB Tesco benefit, useless card. will call to cancel after received <RM3000 for 2% rebate, >RM3000 for 5% but capped at RM50. even spend all in tesco, the max rebate can get is only 2%, will never get 5% since 50 rebate for RM3000 spend = 1.67% rebate only |

QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 8 2016, 12:37 PM) That Tesco card is not a replacement for RHB Tesco card. yes, will cancel it since it doesnt suite me.Nothing is so fancy about it. 2% rebate can be accommodated by CIMB CR MC if you're not a heavy spender in both online and groceries category. btw, here is my understanding on CIMB CR, is that correct? 1. statement date fixed at 28th, cannot be changed 2. cash rebate earn is by calendar month, will posted in next month 28th 3. cash rebate Credit will be included in next month statement balance (to offset) when it generate statement at 28th. QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 8 2016, 12:53 PM) 1. Statement date: 28th do you mean during Oct 28th, we should see the Sep rebate posted at Oct 28-30, which will fall in next statement cycle already?2. Posted in the next statement (new ledger); if you have Clicks access, you can see it gets posted 2 to 3 days later. 3. Some claimed no; better pay outstanding in full so Oct statement mostly will not have Sep rebate being offset in the Oct Statement balance but fall in Nov statement balance instead? so this will feel like the rebate for current month credit in after 2 months. QUOTE(David83 @ Sep 8 2016, 01:07 PM) Statement date: 28th October Bill cycle: 29th September to 28th October Rebate posted: 30th or 31st October As fruitie mentioned, please pay outstanding in full as some forumers were being slapped with financial charges. QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 8 2016, 01:13 PM) read this http://www.cimbbank.com.my/content/dam/cim...t-3July2015.pdf Sep cashback not post at > 28th Oct? the example is in there. your earned Sep cashback will be credited on Sep 29 (usually). Since it's already past your Sep 28 statement, you dont actually get to "enjoy" the cashback. then on Oct 28 statement, you would see Sep's earned cashback with Oct spending. essentially, this month's cashback will reduce next month's bill. After reading the revised mechanism by CIMB, I read it like below example. The quota is not from actual Calendar month?

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Sep 8 2016, 03:04 PM) should be this... Thanks. Understood.
in short, you will see the cashback 1 statement later. This is similar to Alliance Cashback then。 |

received my CIMB CR together with CIMB Tesco card today.
Immediately call CS to activate CR and cancel Tesco card, it redirect to CIMB Card Centre and they offer me swipe RM200 to get RM30 rebate for the CIMB Tesco card. They will immediately credit RM15 first, then I swipe any purchase for RM200 within 1 month, can get another RM15 in next 3 month (total RM30). So I accepted the offer, will cancel it after the other RM15 received. I cannot check if the RM15 posted in the CIMB Tesco or not because unable to activate CIMB click right now since I have not set my own PIN for the card yet. My History: 29th Aug - submit via cimb "Apply Online Now" 1st Sep - CIMB call for verification + request supporting doc, document sent in same day 5th Sep - approved and card sent out 9th Sep - received card. |

QUOTE(sonotme @ Sep 9 2016, 09:05 PM) hmm.. surely the cashback rebate will only be posted to you on the following statement? then you have to keep swiping to get the rebate? first RM15 will credit in first, remaining RM15 will only credit within 3 months after i swipe rm200so basically I just use the CIMB Tesco card for RM200 anything then throw to drawer and wait for cashback. After received the cashback, i think can ask to transfer the Credit balance to CIMB CR card before I cancel it. If cannot, just pay RM15 any bill to use the rebate before cancel it btw, this CIMB Tesco seems like really not attractive, Aeon & Aeon big card are better than this for co-branded cc This post has been edited by edwardccg: Sep 9 2016, 10:01 PM |

QUOTE(Ralna @ Sep 12 2016, 11:57 PM) Hi, people... need your advice here. In the last 6 months do you have any cc approved? My application for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card got rejected. I think it's because I have 5 credit cards from 2 banks (2 Maybank cards + 3 UOB cards). 1. If I cancel 1 Maybank card & 2 UOB cards, which means I have 2 cards left, can I apply for a new CIMB card? Will it get approved? If I cancel old cards & the application doesn't get approved, I'll be 2. I have a CIMB account but that's not the main account I use. If I deposit more $$ in the account regularly, will the chances of getting a CIMB credit card be increased? My income is steadily above 5k & I'm a good paymaster with good credit ratings. I have many cards because those banks called & offered me to use them a few years ago. It's just that now I shop online a lot, I need a good credit card for online shopping. Any advice? Is it easy to get approval? p.s. Actually when I submitted the application form, the exec also asked me to apply for another CIMB card since I fit all their criteria. (>.<) Also it will reject if total Credit Limit and Loan is too much. I have been rejected by CIMB twice during March and May via card centre at KLCC, and I believe should be due to I have 4 card application approved during Jan - May with high CL. I have reduced the 4 card CL and tried to apply again in Sep for the 3rd time. My 3rd attempt apply is via online and successful when I accept the offer of dual card (CIMB CR + Tesco). I wonder they will have higher chance of approval for people who accept dual card QUOTE(Vigilant @ Sep 13 2016, 07:30 PM) Hi, You can call to request them to set SMS Transaction alert threshold to RM1 then you should be receiving SMS for any transaction above RM1Recently just got my cashback platinum mastercard from CIMB. First few online transactions I've received SMS notification. Then I was using it for Uber. No notification, is this normal? This post has been edited by edwardccg: Sep 13 2016, 08:06 PM |

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 14 2016, 04:24 PM) Btw, not sure if anyone else is doing it, but I applied for CIMB CR and 2 supplementary (just asked my husband and sister to let me apply), but I control all 3 cards and use solely for online transactions to replace Vox. Since limit for online cashback is RM600 per card, 3 cards give RM1800 which makes them good Vox replacement. Forgot about this!!!I have request to decrease 60% or my Credit Limit just after received the card. Should have apply for supplementary card for more cash back. QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 14 2016, 04:29 PM) Just received SMS that my supplementary card is approved. Btw, how to apply supplementary card? Can we apply that online? Or have to apply via card centre like klcc? Wonder it there any 1hour approval and obtain card on the spot for sub card? This post has been edited by edwardccg: Sep 14 2016, 07:39 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 14 2016, 08:29 PM) Fill in form and send via email. so basically just follow the instruction over here?Supplementary cannot have 1 hour approval, not any bank offers this. http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...tary-cards.html my principle card just get approved, wonder will they reject the supplementary application. usually how they evaluate the approval for supplementary card? QUOTE(Ralna @ Sep 14 2016, 10:48 PM) I'll try again next year; now can't cancel UOB cards coz still have some installments to pay for. Thanks for your kind advice. is it the total CL of all your CC?If my CL is around 20k, is that considered high? If so is not consider high. Bank also check CCRIS on loan to evaluate as well |
