yes you can charge all to aeon card but take note of the online transaction cash back card you are using.
if you have pbb vs is around rm833/month and for cimb plat cb is around rm600/month, remember to factor in the 2% amount in there too  nod.gif

Hi, people... need your advice here.

My application for CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card got rejected. I think it's because I have 5 credit cards from 2 banks (2 Maybank cards + 3 UOB cards).

1. If I cancel 1 Maybank card & 2 UOB cards, which means I have 2 cards left, can I apply for a new CIMB card? Will it get approved? If I cancel old cards & the application doesn't get approved, I'll be sad.gif

2. I have a CIMB account but that's not the main account I use. If I deposit more $$ in the account regularly, will the chances of getting a CIMB credit card be increased?

My income is steadily above 5k & I'm a good paymaster with good credit ratings. I have many cards because those banks called & offered me to use them a few years ago. It's just that now I shop online a lot, I need a good credit card for online shopping.

Any advice? Is it easy to get approval?

p.s. Actually when I submitted the application form, the exec also asked me to apply for another CIMB card since I fit all their criteria. (>.<)

Holding few cards from a same bank doesn't affect ur credit rating as ur credit limit is combine for all cards..

However, u should cancel cards which u didn't use, no point keeping useless card

As for cimb, u can try to appeal for the unsuccessful application, else u need to wait at least 6 months only u can reapply.

I think first page should put in information such as whether bill payment at UOB payonline will get the 5% cash back or not.
And also other transaction that will/will not get the 5% cash back, such as pos online.

it's there on the first page under eligible and non-eligible for 5% online cashback

Not really. You can appeal and if your appeal doesn't succeed, then you are encouraged to wait after 6 months for re-application.
Else, if you don't want to appeal, then straight wait till 6 months after that to re-apply again.

I suggest you send them an e-mail as Fruitie mentioned.

Based on my experience, CIMB has a strange automated system, which may result in auto rejection for no "real" reason. My most recent experience with them is as follows:

I hold more than 15 CCs (average 2-3 from each mainstream bank) and have never had a rejection. However, I applied for CIMB CR in March this year, and was sent 2 cards (CIMB CR + CIMB Petronas), with 100k+ credit limit. I did not activate the CIMB Petronas since I never applied for it.

In May, I applied for a CIMB Visa Infinite and received an almost immediate auto rejection (via a call from CS). When I asked CS why, she said the system auto rejected but cannot disclose reasons. She gave me the standard kind of answers when I asked more questions and advised me to write in.

I e-mailed the card centre, and within 2 days CS called me to say that my application had been approved and combined credit limit increased by 50k.

I don't know WHY I was rejected, but after writing in, everything was super quick and easy. In fact, they were very keen to give me the Visa Infinite card.

Anybody ever use your cimb cash rebate credit card to book hotel room through Expedia before? Encounter any problems?

Just sharing my experience. Usually book through agoda (7% off, nvr have problem). But last month, hand itchy decided to try booking through expedia since its giving 10% off.

So after went through all the hotel room booking steps, key in my CC details for the purchase. Once clicked to proceed with the booking, it went back page where I key in my CC details. No notification whether the booking went through or not, nor error message.

I waited for a while to see if expedia sending me any booking confirmation letter, nothing. So i call up their customer service hotline. A lady answered and later she directed me to another line, this time it was an indian guy speaking (seem like expedia's technical support is based in India). What annoyed me was how rude this guy was, asking me in my hotel booking details rudely. I was told their server having problem, thats why my booking failed.. well, at least program yr website to prompt a error message lah.

Lastly, after all the booking details, he asked for my CC details including the 3 security pins for manual booking. I told him hell no.. i not gonna give u that (not when u dont even sound like u r from customer service dept, not "please", "thank you" ect...) He sound unhappy with that and rudely told me I cant proceed if so.. I said no thank and hang off.

After that proceed to book through agoda and regretted why hand itchy go book expedia for 3% extra.

The End

Hi,

Recently just got my cashback platinum mastercard from CIMB. First few online transactions I've received SMS notification. Then I was using it for Uber. No notification, is this normal?

In the last 6 months do you have any cc approved?
Also it will reject if total Credit Limit and Loan is too much.

I have been rejected by CIMB twice during March and May via card centre at KLCC, and I believe should be due to I have 4 card application approved during Jan - May with high CL.

I have reduced the 4 card CL and tried to apply again in Sep for the 3rd time.

My 3rd attempt apply is via online and successful when I accept the offer of dual card (CIMB CR + Tesco).
I wonder they will have higher chance of approval for people who accept dual card

You can call to request them to set SMS Transaction alert threshold to RM1 then you should be receiving SMS for any transaction above RM1

Im using CIMB Cash back platinum mastercard. I just check my statement, and I realize that I was charged slightly higher compare to the amount on my Uber App. As I understand that i was suppose to get cash back, but instead im getting charged more for each transaction.

Example: on uber app shows RM3.51, but statement shows RM3.54

It happens to every single transaction :/

anyone could clarify if uber really can get cash back? if cant im gonna switch back to my maybank cc for uber.

thanks

That's 0.8% border charge and Uber no longer gives cash back.

Guess I need to check for other banks now.

Hi. Try to submit the latest 6 months;
- Payslip
- Bank statements (Preferably the bank which crediting your salary)
- EPF statement

If you are holding any FDs either which bank will be an added advantage.

I was applying CIMB CR Plat 3 months ago by submitting these docs and was approved. smile.gif
