QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ May 4 2026, 03:02 PM) The selling price is almost similar dynamic/ prime and premium variants for both makes so when you ask which is financially better you asking cost of ownership? Will let EV aficionados answer this.. Meanwhile, what made you decide on 100-120K EV models, what is your current car and daily transport needs 🤔 because of budi95 reduced to 200 litre and I am frequent traveller. I just think only had 1 ICE which is ativa is ok enough not two which we think a good idea

Need suggestion for a new car. Currently driving a 2019 HRV and looking for an upgrade.
1. Brand : Any 2. Budget : ~150k 3. New/Used/Unreg : New 4. Specs : HEV/PHEV 5. Transmission : Auto 6. NA or FI : FI 7. Type : SUV 8. Remarks : Mostly city drive during traffic jams, so prefer a car with good ADAS. Living in condo, so not considering pure EV.

For me it's the charging convenience cos I travel frequently too. If you have mapped this out for your regular or daily travel needs then should be fine. Those newer batteries on higher voltage car architectures are launching on higher end models in China hence should filter down in a few years to give us 5-10min 80% charge soon. One other reason I'm carefully watching our subsidised Ron95 pricing - any indication it heads north of 2.50 am going to switch one car to EV for fun.

Me try list down ALL new SUV HEV/PHEV < 300K for other members reading too. List price before discounts/ promotions | Brand | Model | $K Range | Type | | Chery | Tiggo Cross | 100 | HEV | | Toyota | Yaris Cross | 110? | HEV | | Proton | Emas7 | 110-130 | PHEV | | Nissan | Kicks | 114-122 | EREV | | Chery | Tiggo7 | 130 | PHEV | | GM | H6 | 140 | HEV | | Toyota | Corolla Cross | 141-149 | HEV | | Honda | HR-V | 144 | HEV | | Suzuki | Fronx | 148 | HEV | | Jaecoo | J7 | 159 | PHEV | | Chery | Tiggo8 | 160 | PHEV | | Honda | CR-V | 178-196 | HEV | | Hyundai | Tuscon | 198 | HEV | | Omoda | C9 | 209 | PHEV | | Hyundai | SantaFe | 225-245 | HEV | | Lexus | LBX | 239-269 | HEV | | Volvo | XC40 | 269 | HEV | | Toyota | Harrier | 289 | HEV | | Mazda | CX-80 | 297 | PHEV |
Can see most Japanese models remain HEV while a lot Chinese ones gone PHEV. If you wanna go Plugin within your 150K budget, the Emas7 is a pretty safe choice. Else Honda Toyota offers well proven Hybrid models. This post has been edited by dogbert_chew: May 6 2026, 08:18 PM

I just miss out on 2025 BYD seal 6 which has 8k rebate and seller push for 2026 model which has no rebate. should I pay 5k for new model?
