WTA: Now that PC not able to detect my REDMI NOTE 3, kindly advice if there is any solution?

You are in which ROM? USB debugging enabled?

Previously after install 7.3.5 already had this issue. Now updated to 7.3.6 also the same.

USB debugging enabled

Try disabled USB debugging and open My Computer see whether there is Redmi Note 3 or not..

My experience after flashing 2 device :
- Common error : Not enough storage space to complete this operation
- Refresh MiFlash and retry then will hit error something like : catastrophic failure (0x8000ffff) receiving hello packet
- After restart PC also might hit same error
- fastboot edl is a very usefull tools
- Successfully flash both device via fastboot mode, then use fastboot edl tools to enter EDL mode
- Till now still not sure what is the problem that cause the few times fail and what is the solution, try a few times then it succeeded

What is the best way to flash Redmi Note 3? Can give us the steps?
I know the other website have it.

Maybe you can give summary or important steps.

actually i also dont know what i had done to success
i just keep on re-try, keep change to fastboot mode and use fastboot edl tools ....

and the phone cant use finger print to unlock after re-start

Nope, still waiting for Global Developer ROM. Probably August or September if Xiaomi sticks to normal procedures.

Hi all! I am thinking to get a Redmi Note 3 for my grandpa.
Preferable a 16GB, Snapdragon model and Gold colour will be better.

So far i've found a best deal from Gemfive, price at RM 574.20 after applied 'duitraya20' code (original price at RM709). Sold by ITRONICMOBILE. here

I wonder any other website that able to get even affordable and better pricing than gemfive?

I thought after restart, if got lock SIM memang kena unlock SIM first then only can use finger print to login to your homescreen?

if unlocked..flash via miui eu.

so far battery usage is quite good on my end

Loving the iphone-like button(shortcut menu) which minimize the use of power button.
Unlock use fingerprint, lock use shortcut menu. Very good and easy

seems they added some vanilla looks as well in miui 8

The redmi 3 models first 2 on the left i think are mediatek models then 3rd and 4th are snapdragon models. 32gb mediatek and 16gb snapdragon same price perhaps.

your set was unlocked at first or you flash even though locked?

somehow my phone detected as marshall bootloader instead of qualcomm even i have the drivers ready.

I think there are steps in previous thread. Need to wait till they move these useful information first. While you are waiting, maybe can try uncle Google instead.

for the marshall bootloader, i think i get into this situation too
my suggestion is, just put your phone to fastboot mode and flash it.
Step as per my experience :
1. long press on volumn down (-) + power button till a rabbit come out on the screen (rabbit come out then u are in fastboot mode)
2. then use the fastboot_edl tools (http://en.miui.com/thread-290959-1-1.html) , follow the instruction to use.
3. after rabbit disappear, u are in EDL mode. (your phone notification light will have red light flashing)
4. run MiFlash, u should able to see COM3 ( or any other COM ) after press the refresh button
5. browse your MIUI folder path, and click flash ( remember to choose "flash all" )

Locked means bootlader locked. When i run miflash , somehow my device serial number shows instead of COM (recognizable coz i flash samsung phones)

Also, flash all means it also clears the sd card or just it's internal storage?

I just got my set yesterday from last weekend purchase thru Gemfive with discount.

Immediately I install Global ROM with guide by Muz_paray @ en.miui forum.
After 1.5 hours, I am on Global ROM 7.3.6.

It's up & running this morning after transfer all data to this new phone.
Really sturdy performance & really like the fingerprint. But I miss Knock to Wake feature as like my Oneplus One. But it's ok for now. Nothing I can ask for more for the price I paid for.

I get ads randomly too when using phone before flashing to global rom.

Flashed to 7.3.6 yesterday but the battery life not as good as 7.3.2 not even 7.1.8. So far battery life on 7.1.8 was the best for my RN3

Nothing to do with firmware. You install more stuff and setting is different too

maybe, but i just updated from 7.3.2 to 7.3.6 yesterday and can feel the different d. monitor few more charge

7.3.6. Working fine on my device. Yesterday sot 9 hours with 24 hours battery ... LOL..

That is your feeling only because you always think new firmware got battery drain.

7.3.6 is pretty stable besides good battery life.

From the looks of things RN3 users will be getting Marshmallow official rom next year...

I beg to differ. Next year should get either Android N or O already.
Marshmallow is already outdated next year.

If like this , I faster go sell my RN3 and get p9 lite.. Hahaha.

my battery left 80% with SOT 30min, cell standby 16 hours since yesterday is that normal for RN3? previous 7.3.2 can have SOT 50min with the same condition. Anyway, need few more charge to monitor

Don't put so high hope on RN3 soon will replace with RN4, my MiPad still stuck with KitKat

How you make sure everything same? Is your telco transmit at the same energy all the time? Are you using the same way? Is all your app load to memory the same way? LoL ... You are just being paranoid

Mipad not selling worldwide. But RN3 is world best seller. Kekeke..

Btw, my best SOT since i got the phone was around 7 hours, no idea why some of the RN3 can hit more than 12 hours
