hi guys, TM has identified my cat5 telephone line got problem.. request me to change if wanted to install Unifi successfully..

Called a contractor, he offer to charge me RM180-200 from my house to telephone riser room. I did not go above ceiling, just plainly stick at corner of wall. Est. length is around 20-23 meters.

Is this the standard market price?

Cat 5 telephone line? Did you type it wrongly?

Cat 5 is LAN cable (RJ45), used for internet only.
Telephone Line is RJ11, used for internet and telephone.

It is an Android box and you are free to download apps into it. I have free IPTV apps, iFlix, Astro OTG and YouTube app installed, keep me occupied. The only thing lacking is time to watch all. laugh.gif biggrin.gif

I am not sure.. It has a adapter in my house, that used to connect the modem.
I asked the TM contractor what its called.. He said is telephone line or CAT 5.
This cable goes to Telephone Room (Riser). It was connected to MDF Room

Just let TM do it. Never trust those outside installer. I used to let them do that and then until one day TM tells me that the port is unusable for internet. And I was like WTF, I already paid the installer money and I need to pay TM again because it is not usable?

Yes, my house is like that. Both me and housemate are using differently. smile.gif
So long, it still has port for you, then you can have it.

If it is an APK format, then you can install yourself into this box.
My IPTV apps used to have Astro channels too until some of them being blocked recently but I have no fuss about it as I have Astro OTG installed. Plus I still can watch overseas channels. Not an issue at all.
