Apparently effective yesterday. Just receive news from the bank staffs.

And I went in to check Maybank website: http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...al/ACC-Accounts
And it states 3.58% now.
*
website update yesterday the rate on 16/8/2016
but stated "Effective from 16 July 2016 to 15 Aug 2016"???

so, it will reduce our interests from 3.75% to 3.58% for that periods as well?

As some of u may know, I have trouble with my MBB GIA-i interest crediting. They are now manually crediting the "extra" interest to my account without me chasing them every month. That is GOOD !

So for the 4.5% of the 10th month, they have credited the extra interest. This made up to total of 4.5%. Though I received the about 3.8% on 5th Aug. Then now the coming Sept will receive 3.58%. doh.gif But with adjustment hopefully still get back to 6% for last 2 months. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Add: This is the only one I left which is of 12 mth tenure, eff 4.5% interest.

Too many people using eGIA-i liao. Bank losing too much money. Oh well. It was good while it lasted. But still better than any 1 month eFDs.
Later with a cut in OPR some more plus I foresee a further a cut in interest by maybank for eGIA-i (2x cut) I no eye see the interest rate anymore. Enjoy while it last guys.
This is perfect example that I state if banks can affort to give 3.75% but instead choose to give 3.58% shows how much money the bank is sucking from us. Hence go for highest interest to decrease the amount of free money we are giving the bank. tongue.gif

Add: I think u meant if I moved out the eff 4.5% one. No, I moved out only the 4%, 3.75% one. Leaving only the eff 4.5% one.
