guys, im now in California and just browse through and get to know Iphone's price (8G model) has drop to USD399!!!! Approximately RM1400 (taking 3.5 as conversion rate). I'm goin to get one for myself later today but im afraid the version is 1.1.1 and according to this website http://iphone.unlock.no/ you canot use ur iphone as a phone even u downgrade ur version to 1.0.2. Has anyone with version 1.1.1 already downgrade to version 1.0.2 and iphone can work as a phone using maxis?

sory bro, downgrade fr 1.1.1 to 1.02 will make the iphone to one expensive ipod touch
but dev team working on it..hopefully we might see another unlock method release.

for digi u must activate edge for ur sim card. i do it on digi webpage




after they confirm that ur edge is activated :
on the iPhone go to setting>general>network>edge


then fill in the APN : diginet


there is no username and password. ur digi edge/gprs should be working

I have just talk to Apple's people and they told me that the phone is totaly unuseable (not even the mp3 function can be use) if I did not activate it using AT&T sim card. I guess they are bluffing me but just to be sure, is that true? If it is true, do you guys activate it using AT&T sim card first then only unlock the phone to use for other sim card?

For the 1.0.2 firmware version, it doesn't matter, you can unlock whether or not you activate with AT&T. However for the newer firmware you're stuck for now. Wait some time (weeks? months?) for the new unlock from the dev team.

1) register gprs/edge
2) just need to choose : SETTING.....CARRIER.......DIGI(dont choose automatic).

updates for Maxis
The last call summary:
- Maxis spoken to Apple Malaysia asked for iPhone test unit(s). Apple Malaysia refuse to help. Their reason is it's not launch here.
- Maxis have no choice but to get ppl bring in hacked iPhones.
- Their iPhones are yet to arrive. (supposed to be these 2 days).
- They aware the problem.
- They received many complains.
- The technical department are waiting for the iPhone now.
- Also inform them on the issue happened in Kuwait, emailed the details to them.
- Most part of KL are using Siemen/Nokia hardware, but certain part of Subang Jaya are using Ericsson.
- The theory now is, if it is Siemen/Nokia hardware issue, then it might work with the Ericsson towers in Subang Jaya. Maybe someone can try around in Subang Jaya? If it is not working still. Then the problem might not be the Siemen/Nokia hardware.

if i got wifi and edge, what will connect the iphone first? can we set which for data? i prefer using WIFI ... any ideas guys? i know latest firmware got the option to choose from ....
