Hmm..solved my problem already. Indeed WinXP SP1 is the main culprit. It's not compatible with the Conexnant HD audio driver. Resolved after installing Win XP SP2.

All in all, this laptop is great!

wooooo i cant boot my laptop just now.after almost like 2 hours then it manage to boot. i've been experiencing this prob since a couple of months ago.very hard to boot and restart r now.often it stuck at the bios loading screen(d one with the Compaq logo) n sumtimes it stuck and load something2 nvidia boot adapter? ..i thought my v3133 will never boot up again just now.haiya.always need to hold the power button for 5 secs and repeat it several times just to boot.sumtimes just switch off the ac power.any solutions guys?

ever tried to boot from CD rom with OS dics? not to ask you to reformat, just want to check if its ok if boot from CD ROM, if so, might be your OS in HDD got problem.

my brother interested in getting the v3415au but since it freedos so have to install os for it right. my question is installing os for laptop is same like desktop because i never done it before. one more thing should i install xp or vista?

wah, this laptop, if u step in my college, just any random class, you will see everyone is using the same damn model.....

anyway, about the administrator account for XP in this HP V3000 AMD, why i try to log on to admin and it says restricted? but in safe mode it allows me to log in without password...

I just bought a compaq presario v3417 and i can't find the driver for windows xp in hp website(there is but a few only,doesn't have sound,graphic etc. for xp,only for vista)...anyone help please?

hrm.i read a previous posts saying dat mayb it's becaused of the amd driver processor i updated.i rolled back to the older version now.i dont know whether this solves my prob or not cos i didnt try to shut down my laptop yet(too scared meh).but the previous amd driverr is soooo bs.temp is like 80+++ all the time.dammit.want to update back but after update need to restart.then hang again.haih

i have one problem here. i cant install the network driver for my V3521TU. when i try to install it say "There is no information for your driver". Somebody pls help. Its urgent.

oh ya my v3203au always meet a minor problem:

when i am active my bluetooth my wmp will stop playing song....

once again.. asking this lousy question.. any V3415AU on Win XP Pro use facing any problem with wireless network? which driver did u guys use for the wireless?

im just chatting with customer support and she's suspecting harware problem.. so im asking for alternative solution since the customer serv a bit far and for sure ive to wait for long time..

i had almost the same problem as yours..and i suspect your motherboard have a problem..the first time happen i went to the service center and they change my motherboard..and a few days ago the same thing happen and once again i sent it for repair..they change my motherboard for the second time and plus my hard disk..but now i'm having problem with my audio..no sound came out even after i have install the UAA and the audio driver..anyone knows what i might miss?i suspect they didnt fix the audio connection properly..

make sure u got all the notebook drivers... main page has some simple steps that previous users has done n documented... hopefully it is helpful
