Do you think this is real or phishing? If click on the attachment (HTML), it asks you to create secure mail ID to fill up password with retype and choose security question with answer.

Look phishing because the receipant address got multiple names and it is attempt for multiple identity thefts

Check all the addresses as it should not be such way for authenticating documents

I suggest you head to nearest branch during banking hours to sort it out rather to do it via phone as it will be delayed in action

OCBC only does document validation via branches not through online

Scam. Opening html file = you might initiate a drive by download.

It was sent to me, with cc to another OCBC email (probably the manager or another higher officer)

It looks legit as the html linked to voltage-pp-0000.ocbc.com (it is still under OCBC domain) that requires to register a new Secure Mail ID account to read the e-mail (perhaps)

One way is call up their customer service and enquire.

As written in first post, is still awaiting their feedback.

For me personally I won't trust anything which came into my email that is from bank requesting information. If they send the message to your via ban secure inbox, then yeah. No issue. Call me paranoid.

Doesn’t matter as banks shouldn’t ask personal details via email.

They would ask via email and instruct you go to the nearest branch or via snail mail

Also, if customer service can’t answer you it means that this request is scam as OCBC HQ would have documented all the procedures if any customer would have call to ask

Lastly, if there is a such request and they need to contact you immediately a SMS would have sent to you via your account registered phone number

All smells scam even with link or domain that is linked to it 🤦‍♀️

Not paranoid but secured. 1st time as OCBC will always insist you go to the branch to sort this out

Has anyone close an OCBC account in Malaysia before? What's the process like? I can't seem to find any information on this on their website.

With the RM20 minimum balance requirement this account is now useless to me.

Go to branch and slow it.

Only close the account after a year otherwise closing fee

Yes, I didn’t opt for debit card.

The bank called and offered me a titanium CC but ended up it is an supplementary card with combined limit with my matercard365.

I agree with the titanium card as my mastercard 365 will be charged annual fee starting last nov but it got waived coz i think why not just get this titanium and cancel the first card instead.

Now what on earth they send me this second card with a combined limit. Their CS sucks!

Hi sir, usually banks do offer multiple card (different benefit claim by banks) but 1 single limit means combine limit... if you have 2 card with 1 limit, u can always cancel 1 of the 2 card and maintain the credit limit offer...

if you have both conventional and islamic cards from the bank eg Maybank & Maybank islamic than you will have separate credit limit...
