I believe only *.wav file works for sms tone. Anyway, I use Ringo for ring and sms tone...practical and convenient too.

@strike > i tried ringo too ... but seeing as i have photocontacts pro and phone alarm installed as well - i'm getting a lot of double ringtones ... getting a lot of conflicting tones shakehead.gif ... should not have so many i guess, but still looking for the perfect contacts/ tone app.

hmmm.....Ringo eh.....checking it now.....

so this program auto starup I presume.....does it take lots of memory and space in the background? any lagging - some program lags...such as delay of 1 or 2 seconds beofre playing the tune but you can already see people calling/sms on the screen...?

no problem....

this button is quite useful if you have a few programs opened up and you need to see the today screen....

but good for P535 users that we have the task button on bottom left beside the call receive button that can be programmed to be task switcher....pressing it once will bring you directly to today screen.....

@ tester: I'm not sure if one would call it autostartup prog but I shd think that Ringo is like a substitute of the default windows ringtone function. It supercedes the default ringtone as soon as u select another ringtone and sms tone via Ringo. It is a really tiny prog so it takes a small amount of memory and it doesnt show as running progs. My observation is that it rings 0.5 seconds later as soon as the call / sms alert appears on the phone. Absolutely ignorable time difference if u ask me. Accordingly, the prog can also assign designated ringtones for each contact however I do not use that function.

@strik3

thanks for your information....yup...the time delay is insignificant then....will be thinking of installing this soon....

what intrigues me most is that the ability to assign ringtone to groups....

this is much convenient and practical compare to the builtin contacts that only allows ringtone per contact which is really troublesome to change for groups as i need to change each contact.....

Welcome to chrono_breaks...

been bz the last 2 days fiddling with the gps function.. javascript:emoticon(':cool2:')
smilie
Still not very familiar yet but managed to make it to work with the voice prompt.. quite cool...

Wifi, bluetooth, msn, is also good so far..
However, my pda hangs sometimes and have to reset it.. not sure if I have done anything wrong..

Some questions:
I had to reset the pda after inserting my SIM card? Is it normal?
Is it true that if you charge the phone with car charger too often, it can deteriorate the battery?
How can add a shortcut for some programs on the main screen?

Cheers..

From my experience,

1) Everytime you insert/reinsert SIM card, you need to remove battery to do that. Therefore, it is normal to reset the pda either by a) holding the on/off button OR b) poking the Rest button

2) I believe the rate of wear and tear of the battery is the same wherever u charge the pda. The insignificant thing for those who charge via car chargers is that current from the car is not as stable than from house outlet. if you are paranoid about that, charge pda at home. Experience tells me one need not worry about charging in the car.

3) I'm using SPB Pocket Plus and it allows adding shortcuts in Today Screen.

Will try to get either software installed soon.. SPB or claunch..

I think car charger is useful especially on gps mode... will use it when need it..
The reason I am asking is because some pda sales guys told me without me asking about it..
tought it was an issue..

Best advise are from peoples are are actually using it... notworthy.gif

Alamak.. never used pay pal before.. sorry guys..

thanks tester1979 & Strik3.. cheers.

Added on July 14, 2007, 11:26 amHi everyone,

My car is tinted with "safe tint" brand..
I have read some /forum article that v-kool tint will bar gps signal.

The salesman at low yat says that as long as my car is not tinted with v-kool, he guarantee there will be no problem...

Will appreciate if anyone can give feedback.. cheers

That's the cheapest I've seen so far!

Sigh, to think I just got mine at RM 200 extra 2 weeks ago. Just have myself to blame for not shopping around more.

I doubt u`d have found a place selling cheaper than RM2,300 at that time coz apparently, the decision to reduce price was done by Asus recently in an attempt to capture some market share and reducing RM600 from its original introductory price is a very appealing incentive. Besides, if shops like PDA Expert who knows that some customers are looking for 1) cheaper price and 2) installment plans, they are not able (or not willing) to inform those customers of promotions that will fulfill those needs despite it`s just ONE day away, what more if the price reduction is over a week? Everyone still have a sales quota to meet, regardless of the retail price at that time and if any price adjustments imminent.

Well that's true.

But well, I've already bought it and am enjoying it! So don't want to worry about prices dropping again.
