) but on googling for the source, can't seem to find any specific reference to the particular chipset make... not even mentioned in the nokia site.  unsure.gif  I must have been wrong....

Thanks for the reply stimix..

Anyway, after testing p535, no way I am buying p800w.. thumbup.gif

Added on July 14, 2007, 11:26 amHi everyone,

My car is tinted with "safe tint" brand..
I have read some /forum article that v-kool tint will bar gps signal.

The salesman at low yat says that as long as my car is not tinted with v-kool, he guarantee there will be no problem...

Will appreciate if anyone can give feedback.. cheers

Refer to previous problem faced by strik3 using the hi-end safetint ..If urs is hi-end i.e paying >RM1.5K..for sure the film is equivalent to Vcool hi-end too...i.e the one blocking the smart-tag reception...If smartag can't work so do satelite signal...& it is adviseable to get an ext antenna...Remember satelite signal is very weak and cannot penetrate thru buildings, concreate, and even below thick vegetation!...So anything that block the signal inc of hi-end tinting...gone liow....

javascript:emoticon('')
smilie

Thank you to everyone in this forum especially to Strik3 in helping me to make the decision...
U guys are great..javascript:emoticon(':flex:')
smilie

Hopefully, I can contribute in the future too.. erkk of course, after toying around first..

@ Strik3 - The P535's GPS works with my tint.. no need extra antenna..

The guy from PDA Expert@ Brilliant LYT was kind enough to test the unit in my car before purchasing it..
Very good service...

Just for information, I am using EcoTint with Ray Barrier TFI 3880A in my front windscreen..

Cheers.

As previously mentioned, we are all here to share and care and I'm sure u'd do the same for a fellow fresh/potential user/buyer.
Its good the GPS could work with your car tint as that means u save some from not needing to buy the antenna rclxms.gif

Now where's tester...? rolleyes.gif
Ini orang mau kena kantoi asking THAT question....chey! bruce.gif bruce.gif happy.gif

@ stimix: Was happy for a second when managed to get a fix within me car! But it was no good bcz it was so weak the moment i move it from the dashboard, the fix was erm...unfixed doh.gif so yeah, confirm hv to get antenna dy...there goes my hope of saving some moneyflies.gif moneyflies.gif

@ stimix: Didn't manage to upgrade ROM. I'll probably wait for the new WM6 rom then only upgrade at one go. Yea I've been procrastinating the antenna purchase as i was still hoping can get a fix, but i decided to give up on that hope since last night.

So far so good overall all apllication runs faster especially the booting & acquiring satelite speed of GPS proxy & Garmin Que..Almost instance after the Garmin Que start...

The only possible bug that I hv detected is upon clicking "Start" & u try to click on the Today, U can't..To enter "Today" u need to goto setting screen first...wondering the old ROM facing simialr problem..Happened on Sunday when I tried to change the wall paer via "Today" Screen from the "Start"

If u read the Asus forum, some of the french & Thai guys that hv installed WM6 facing blank screen /check sum error..probably this stopped Asus from releasing WM6... hmm.gif hmm.gif

well.....actually not a bug.....it has always been that way......the "Today" after you click "start" will bring you to today screen.....

its like the "show desktop" button on the quick launch bar for Win XP.

and on the WM6....better have asus clean up the ROM before releasing half cooked rom to us.
