QUOTE(stimix @ Feb 5 2007, 10:23 AM) Not sure about other brands, but the 2 Dopod PDA/PDA phones I've bought comes bundled with a car charger. QUOTE(jc144878 @ Feb 26 2007, 02:28 PM) Hi all, How heavy is your usage? Batt died in <1 day? That's bad!I have bought P535 during CNY, to me the design is simple and nice, everything is nice to play with but I do agree that the battery life is vy weak. I don't think it can last for 1 full day on operation(without GSM). But then again, I'm happy wif it. Compared with Dopod 810, I still prefer the "feel" of p535 instead of 810. And may I know how much you got it for? Thanks. |

Seems like battery life is an issue in the otherwise perfect Asus P535.
I almost won a bid for this unit But am now waiting for the ultimate device with built in GPS and also QWERTY keyboard, in the upcoming HTC Kaiser. |

QUOTE(tester1979 @ Apr 26 2007, 12:07 PM) My only complain as with all other P535 owner is its crappy bluetooth headset connection. more often than don't, I feel a lot of noise but still can listen properly. the other person on the phone however is not affected. May I know which BT headset are you pairing with your Asus P535?Thanks. Added on May 11, 2007, 12:15 am QUOTE(tester1979 @ May 9 2007, 12:10 AM) 735 has 3G but no GPS.........so depends on your needs.... So one could actually get the P735 + a BT GPS receiver and enjoy the best of both worlds? so, all the points I listed above for p535 should be the same for p735 apart from the 3G and GPS capabilities...... New user reporting in!
![]() I've read that some of you got the external antenna for GPS. How does it look like and how much would it cost? I got my 6110 Navigator to work in my V-Kool protected car, but somehow couldn't get the P535 to detect any signal. Sigh... Thanks. |

QUOTE(Strik3 @ Jul 12 2007, 10:43 AM) @ tester: Why..must...you...ask...? it brings back bitter heart attack inducing moments...lol. What would you want to know about the 6110 Navigator? anyway, i'm interested to know about the Navi 6110... @ sony: welcome welcome WHITE P535 user, hehe. Are you seriously planning to buy the external antenna and maybe the reradiating unit? OT: Wat chip is the Navi6110 using that's able to work even with Vcool? I bought it for: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Am seriously considering the external antenna. But I saw a smaller antenna than stimix's today. Might opt for that if the price is right. |

QUOTE(Strik3 @ Jul 13 2007, 09:25 AM) @ sony: I think this antenna (Code:GART3X ) found on this link http://www.pc-mobile.net/gpsant.htm is smaller than Stimix's. Anyway, this is the package that I plan to purchase, hehe. 1. I can't find any info on this. There are few Qns about Nav 6110: 1) What GPS chipset it uses? 2) Does it apply malsingmaps or mapking maps just like PDAs? 3) Would owners get access to updated maps from time to time from nokia? 4) Is the user interface more user friendly than mapking's? assuming it doesn't use mapking in the 1st place 2. Malsingmaps, not applicable yet. Mapking, I heard it's in their pipeline, and one may see Mapking for S60 very soon. 3. Depends on Nokia. Nothing has been mentioned about it yet. 4. Not really, I still prefer Mapking. But bear in mind the 6110 Navigator comes pre-installed with Route66, which IMO is a good mapping software except that the map is rather limited to KL only, not even PJ is in their map. QUOTE(tester1979 @ Jul 13 2007, 09:41 AM) @sonyclie77 Bought mine from Digital Gadgets. Been buying stuff from them for a long time now and don't intend to switch unless the deal is too attractive. someone said the RM2099 with 2gb is at lowyat.... did you get yours from Fresh Gear? Added on July 13, 2007, 9:44 am@strik3 still thinking.....because i have no problem using it now with my car tint And I still doubt that the RM 2,099 set is a new set. QUOTE(klmc @ Jul 13 2007, 11:57 AM) 1. SirfStar III chipset , but it's a symbian os phone - so gonna have the same problem as the n95's now ... can't use malsing maps unless u pair with another gps device . The maps nokia provides are very basic (major roads ? only) according to a friend who has it...... Can I have the source which mentions that the 6110 Navigator runs on SiRF III chipset?if want a nokia with GPS better to forget the navigator and get an E65 and a $300+ gps device to pair ... price will work out to somewhat the same... or wait another one / 2 months and get the asus for 2000 Thanks. QUOTE(kenso77 @ Jul 13 2007, 09:04 PM) Asus P535 .... selling for RM1,999! Can you believe it?? I didn`t .... was at PDA Expert just making sure that I got the RM2,099 in LY correct, only this time, I thought of checking their branch in Midvalley. Imagine my surprise when they tell me for a limited time only, the 535 is selling for less than RM2k! Very tempting price. Sigh, I just bought mine at a price much higher than that.Added on July 13, 2007, 10:59 pm QUOTE(stimix @ Jul 13 2007, 10:25 PM) Cool down bro. Added on July 14, 2007, 11:26 amHi everyone, My car is tinted with "safe tint" brand.. I have read some /forum article that v-kool tint will bar gps signal. The salesman at low yat says that as long as my car is not tinted with v-kool, he guarantee there will be no problem... QUOTE(kenso77 @ Jul 21 2007, 12:22 PM) I doubt u`d have found a place selling cheaper than RM2,300 at that time coz apparently, the decision to reduce price was done by Asus recently in an attempt to capture some market share and reducing RM600 from its original introductory price is a very appealing incentive. Besides, if shops like PDA Expert who knows that some customers are looking for 1) cheaper price and 2) installment plans, they are not able (or not willing) to inform those customers of promotions that will fulfill those needs despite it`s just ONE day away, what more if the price reduction is over a week? Everyone still have a sales quota to meet, regardless of the retail price at that time and if any price adjustments imminent. Well that's true. But well, I've already bought it and am enjoying it! So don't want to worry about prices dropping again. |

QUOTE(stimix @ Jul 26 2007, 11:53 PM) That's very expensive...Normal GPS antenna should hv about 26db-28db boost and that's what advertised by Pc-mobile website ..which is also similar to my set-up..dun think any civilian GPS anttenna can boost higher than that... Yeah exactly!I won't be buying one at that price. |

QUOTE(Strik3 @ Aug 1 2007, 12:34 PM) Yo P535 GPS users, Where did you get it mate? Received me GPS antenna and reradiating unit on Monday and got it up and running yesterday. Did a test run and found that the accuracy has improved drastically. Due to it being so very accurate, i must turn before point zero at the junction if not i'll literally go 90 degrees before making the turn into the junction. I hope this is making sense..haha. Just for info, the magnet is really really strong. During the test, the antenna did not budge a lil while driving at 100km/h. Have yet to go higher speeds. Other than that, stimix has assured me that leaving the antenna outside the car will be ok since he's done that for the past 1 year. Cheers mate... Is it the same unit as the one stimix is using? I've seen stimix's setup and I find it not bad. QUOTE(stimix @ Aug 3 2007, 11:52 PM) China's customer service?QUOTE(ya8zoo @ Aug 4 2007, 12:18 AM) I can't get a signal in my V-Kool tinted car, and I've personally tried having a booster and it really helps, in terms of getting a fix in the car.My newly bought Garmin Nuvi 610 has no problems in the same car with V-Kool, guess I'd abandon the idea of getting a booster for the moment, but I still would like to know where Strik3 got his booster from at RM 196. |
