Where do you guys place your routers? Is it harmful to place it near you?

As I am using a desktop, my router (RT-N18U) which is quite high powered is quite near me. Furthermore, my room is pretty small.

So I'm wondering whether its harmful to your health long term if such a high powered router is placed near you.

Just complain to then about the wifi issue with ur router. Frequent dc with wifi no connection etc etc. The next day I get dir850l replaced by without checking my router. I think it will be hard for them to check also since the wifi issue wont happen all the time.
I cant guaranty they will give u dir850l.. but no harm tying.

From a radiation emission point of view, a router in close proximity is probably less harmful than that monitor you are sitting in front of, or that smartphone sitting on your desk or in your pocket.

Read something on this years back when I set up the router in my study room. I think the findings were conflicting. Also checked with my ex colleague IT friend, he does not think it is that bad.

My new unifi router will be in the living room (to keep to their 15 m cable limit) and thus further away from us.

Well I am on Advance 30 plan. Usage is much on torrent downloading and only 3-5 ppl are connected to the device daily usage etc iphone,laptop,desktop and ipad.

Seriously looking for a powerfull router with wide range of signal. Is getting  Asus RT-AC88U overkill a bit?

Interesting rumour I heard today during my regular weekend breakfast session with my 'xiong di'.

Apparently, there is an agent (not TM themselves) going around the Bukit Damansara, Seri Hartamas and Mont Kiara areas offering RM30 discounts off the Advance 50 and Advance Pro 100 packages for 3 years, BUT only if they sign up in groups of 3 or more.

Can anyone living in those or similarly affluent areas corroborate this?

Wonder if this is a sign of things to come.

For your case, looks like overkill. However, a better performance router remains a better performing router. Think smartphones, a RM300 android phone can be used to whatsapp, sms, call, browse, etc (basic stuff), same like a RM4000 phone. So it's a matter of available budget and much better performance.

If I were in your shoes, I'd get the RT-AC68U (Adaptive QOS + more RAM, speedier LAN transfers, etc) or at the very least, the RT-AC55UHP.. Nothing lower. Both routers also have the "Download Master" features which can be used for well.... downloads..

Which one is the newer verison between this RT-AC68U and RT-AC55UHP ?

Honestly, at the moment, there have been conflicting stands on this issue. Personally, I'd give some distance though, as a precautionary measure. But yeah, that smartphone in your pocket... Is a higher threat.. 

Actually, they do call and offer you to pay via CC over the phone. You'll also get SMS, emails and automated calls with a reminder message.

I received before because I forgot to pay twice. They will call to chase. These days I pay on time. I never receive bills because mine is online statement, no red bill yet.

Sorry but where you buy the router is up to you. Be informed that Asus only accepts warranty claims on routers from merchants and not an end user.. So...

If you are concern about the radiation, you should live in the jungle like tarzan. The radiation emitted from these router are not enough to do any harm to your body.
