QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 3 2016, 01:45 PM) Very much agreed on the first point. Makes for a very agonising experience when testing out local juices. Can't help u much with juice suggestions...been DIYing for quite some time and i'm outta touch with what's commercially available. However if u r in SS15, try popping into CloudGear vape studio. They've got a fairly wide range of local juice sample bottles. What I like about that shop is I feel comfy there, and they are most helpful. The mixes my local guy does are okay as far as sweetness goes (for me anyway), and I've only gone through two ADV flavour changes with his juices so far (yeah, I'm pretty boring as far as ADVs go). That said, I do have days when I wanna go out and try something new. So far I've only found a handful of local juices I like enough to buy... which is sad considering our market is supposedly "2nd in the world". That said, maybe I'm just not searching hard enough lol. Now that I have a half decent dripping setup maybe I should go out there and try more stuff. On another note, anybody know where I can get SS430 from locally? Not that 316 TC isn't already working decently for me, but the supposed superior TC accuracy of 430 (and 410) has got my curiosity peaked. Maybe u can also ask for SS430 @ that shop. For some reason or other, I find that my ADV (3 fruit flavors) still taste better on nichrome than on SS316l. I'm not saying they taste bad on SS....but there's simply too much emphasis on the topnotes to the point where it gets too "sharp" and a tad discomforting. I'm prolly more boring than u, and have reverted to good old Ni80, which is all we had to use back in the dark ages of regular resistance vaping |

QUOTE(markypcs @ Jun 3 2016, 01:42 PM) Have a link to the Xtar VC4 you bought? I bought from here. What about Nitecore i4/d4? It's almost half the price of the Xtar VC4 http://www.lelong.com.my/catalog/all/list?...eyword=XTAR+VC4 Pick which is cheaper, so far there is no clone for VC4. Nitecore i4 = without LCD screen Nitecore D4 = XTAR VC4 (VC4 is better, but depends on you) If you want to get Niteocre D4, searh in lelong or shopee. XTAR is cheaper in lelong. "variable" in 316/317 form (hence the search for 430). Not that it's not serviceable though, we're running "adjustable" mods after all. Really, back when I first tried out rebuilding (Smok RDA wooo) they were already using kanthal... with silica wicks though. Coiling was a horrible affair, so it wasn't long before I went back to consumable atties. It took the Taifun (and cotton) to bring me back lol... I never did go into the original Genny mesh craze either. But yeah, silica wicks... *shudder* This post has been edited by Eiraku: Jun 3 2016, 04:57 PM |

QUOTE(markypcs @ Jun 3 2016, 05:36 PM) Found this dude selling Xtar on LYN Plug it into a decent 2.1A capable wall charger. I doubt laptop USB can provide the needed amps to charge 18650s at any reasonable amount of time. IINM, a normal 1A wall charger should work too.https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2970982&hl= I see the Xtar VC4 or MC2 doesn't come with a wall adapter. Do you plug yours into your laptop USB? That said, I thought the VC4 comes with a wall plug? I know the MC1/2 doesn't (a have a lot of those), and I plug those into my Anker/Orico multiport chargers no problem. This post has been edited by Eiraku: Jun 3 2016, 05:45 PM |

Do you plug yours into your laptop USB? 5V 2.1Amps Plug for VC4 or VC2 Plus Master. Lelong1 Lelong2 or I guess any other compatible plug for that matter, should work no problem. QUOTE(markypcs @ Jun 3 2016, 05:36 PM) Found this dude selling Xtar on LYN U need a 2A 5V charger in order to get 1A charging current for 2pcs 18650 battery. Btw......any 1A charger will work but it will charge at 0.5A for 2pcs 18650 battery.https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2970982&hl= I see the Xtar VC4 or MC2 doesn't come with a wall adapter. Do you plug yours into your laptop USB? I use my Samsung charger. Dont use laptop to charger.....cause laptop or PC USB output is 0.5A only.....unless u charger 1pc battery, if 2pcs battery sure cannot....not enough current. |

QUOTE(Hamsom @ Jun 4 2016, 11:07 AM) And nearly foolproof, to almost Taifun GT levels.Where I twiddled endlessly to make the GobMini work AND not leak or give me Lucifer's pubes; it was like sumbat coils, sumbat cotton, sumbat juice, wait to fully wick and enjoy oni for the 'Cado. Plus on the fly coil/cotton adjustments and impromptu degunking/cleaning (jolok2 gunk on coil with needle, wipe with tissue = good for another day or so). Buuuuut, as per all Genny-likes, tip it over (without overcottoning the holes) = leak liao lor lol. Also the need for a needlepoint bottle for refilling. That said, somebody combined mesh AND cotton on their 'Cado and managed to get an awesome no leak setup. It was like rolled mesh into the tank up to the holes, and short tailed cotton barely into the tip of the mesh. Might try it later, but usually I malas lol. QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jun 4 2016, 02:28 PM) And nearly foolproof, to almost Taifun GT levels. Re: gob mini v2. Serious leaking like half a tank pours out when u do a top fill? Or a few drops ooze down and out after putting the topcap back on?Where I twiddled endlessly to make the GobMini work AND not leak or give me Lucifer's pubes; it was like sumbat coils, sumbat cotton, sumbat juice, wait to fully wick and enjoy oni for the 'Cado. You may wanna try a bit more cotton and a high/max VG juice. The thicker viscosity may help stem the flow till you've had time enough to take a few primer puffs. But if you're tired of that atty and spiders are eyeing it as a good nesting place, I may be feeling masochistic enough to take on it's trials and tribulations if all is in order (no cross threading, everything fits) at a cheep lowball poorfag buyer's price At times I do feel the need for a restricted airflow/MTL-ish toke (hence my affection for the Melo 3 mini)...but today I OD'd on flavor again with 4 claptons and 2 nichrome coils on the tornado...I surrender...it's way way too much! |
