Hi vapers,
After a few bad purchases, I will draw my conclusion of how to detect fake LG HG2 18650 battery.
Fake
1. Shinny white washer at positive pin. If you want to unwrap, the white washer is glued into the top pin, whereas the original no glue just sit on top.
2. Black bold and clear fonts on the label
3. Very old manufacturing date (>10 months)
https://batterybro.com/pages/18650-date-code-lookup-tool4. Weight less than 44gm (normally 41 -42 gm only)
5. Cannot draw 20A continuous fire. Able to verify with fully charged battery and put into your single mod able to fire above 70w and your coil built must be around 0.2ohm. USE ONLY REGULATED SINGLE BATTERY MOD LIKE EVIC VTC MINI etc
Original
1. Matte white washer at positive pin
2. Light bold and fine fonts on the label
3. Recent manufacturing date (eg. 2-5 months)
https://batterybro.com/pages/18650-date-code-lookup-tool4. Weight more than 44gm (maximum 47gm)
5. Able to draw 20A continuous fire. Verify with fully charged battery and put into your single mod able to fire above 70w and your coil built must be around 0.2ohm. USE ONLY REGULATED SINGLE BATTERY MOD LIKE EVIC VTC MINI etc
Since, authentic LG HG2 is rated 20A continuous, original should able to fire (POINT 5) without any problem.
Most of the sellers are selling fake battery rated around 10A only (reasons for "weak battery" indicator when battery level still have a lot (e.g. 40-60%) with 1500-2000mah capacity. Also, can check mah charged with Xtar VC4 .

The seller probably have no idea that they're selling fake batteries in the first place. Problem is on the supplier side. They mix ori batteries with the fake one and send it all out in boxes. That's why it is hard to detect it, other than properly testing each and single one of the batteries.
Since there are a lot of fakes HG2s on the market, it's best to avoid it for now. You guys should try 30Q, it's better than HG2 by not so much according to Mooch.Get it on FT or GB, can't find any seller selling these batteries here.
