I used to have one FX5950 Ultra card before it blew lol
The fan malfunctioned just after two months the warranty period ends.
Those were the good old days.. now staying with Radeon 9600XT PE lol

i want to add a fan on top of the nb heatsink but i dont think it'll stay there

for now im not gonna change the nb heatsink yet..maybe later when i change my whole system

just get a 6800GS or XT.should be able to handle all the games at that reso.i got mine cheap.new 6800GS at rm360 nia dont need to waste too much money.haha

i think x1650pro, 7600gt/gs will still can be fully utilize its performance on our 478. Have think of get a 6800xt. as i heard that 7 series agp version have issues, just like what happened on Edministrator's 7600gs agp recently.

it can stay i think. haha.......get a 80mm fan and place it between your 6800gs and ultra90, find a way to hang the fan there.

Thanks for the support, i appreciate that. Just went through basic review, seems that the 7600GT still capable performing on the AGP platform without any serious bottlenecking.

What happen to Edministrator's 7600gs agp? Massive artifacts or a bad card?

now i have a 80mm fan on my sidepanel.blowing around the gpu area and some to the mobo (i think) so its not too bad.

at least now with my 6800GS i can play all the games that i want.so no rush to upgrade yet

only thing is that when multitasking or doing heavy stuff its real slow.

7600GT?good card..with your proc at 3Ghz should not bottleneck much.

however,i prefer a 256bit card.better performance.that's the thing i missed out on my 6800GS

7600GT AGP quite rare to get. if can get it then sure rock!

his galaxy 7600gs suddently die. luckily still under warrenty. The weird things is that he didnt clock it and use zalman fatal1ty to cool it. temp is under control. then 1 day suddently cant boot and found out that gc die. Now still RMA.

7 series agp uses an extra chipset to convert from pcie to agp. According to Edministrator, that chip was the hottest on that card. Hmm......i start to think of get 6 series like 6600gt, 6800xt etc. Just think only

not to thatextreme la. Just try to up the speed and check the stability. Now at 3.38GHz. tonight want to loop 3dmark01 till morning.

my mobo a bit weird that when i set over 190fsb, the divider will change down to 5:4 or 3:2. Then i have to set to auto in order to get 1:1. Max speed only at 3.45GHz with 1:1 @ c2.5. its slower than 3.33GHz.

a little bit more to 10k on my little G3 Ti200 @ stock.

Having a 256bit card of older generation doens't mean it is better than the current 128bit generation

The most important 1 is how powerful the GPU architecture is then followup by the memory

Take the FX 59 series 256bits cards against the 6 series for example

hm..ppl wondering on my 7600gs card, here's the issue:

1. When I first bought the card in January, it was ok, until I loaded games utilizing shaders. After running games for 30-60mins, artifacts started showing here and there and will be gone after restarting the game. Games tested: HL2, Riddick, NFSMW. Older games such as C&C: Generals runs fine for hours. Swapped 1:1 card within 3 days.

2. The 2nd card was perfect, but thinking of prolonging the life of the card, I bought better cooler for it, the Zalman FS-V7. Temp dropped from 51/67 to 42/54. Yet, I noticed the hottest part is the PCIE to AGP bridge's heatsink. Anyway, last 2 weeks, it just suddenly died on me. Now in RMA proccess, really very sad. Next time wanna think on how to mod the bridge's heatsink, coz the stock one is not so good.

That's my experience to share with you guys here. But I think a good agp card such as the 6800XT or 7300GT is a worthy buy to give a boost on our S478 system. Advantages are the shader3 support, moderate clock speeds for current games and DVI for future LCD screen if anyone wishes to upgrade from CRT to LCD.

Congrates to kabukiawie on the almost 1Ghz oc...

agreed. different between card generation is more obvious than different in bits. like 6600gt vs 5900, 7600gt vs 6800. Now just dont know hows the performance of 8600gt.

ed, so early already wake up on sunday.

1ghz oc not stable 1 la. this morning wake up see the monitor 3dmark hang.
just downclock to 3.33GHz.

7300GT agp price near to rm400 is a bit out of budget.

can anyone tell me the normal temperature for a p4 2.8A non-HT prescott? the rig seems a little hot at times.

how hot is your cpu?? Did you oc? Is the airflow in your casing not good?

normal temp is around 45idle 55load (estimated realistic temp for prescott) in normal situation with stock cooling and normal casing.

Get a CPU temp detector like MBM5 and monitor your rig

Make sure your rig has sufficient airflow
And recommended to change the stock CPU cooler and HS as well

kabukiawie,see your rig can goes up to 3.33GHz.Very good overclcoking result man. This has boosted a lot of power in your system there.P4P800-X can o/c about 1GHz more that should be very good as the vDimm there max only providing 2.68V.

Kahloon,when are you going to get your 7600GS ?

actually for 533Mhz systems, Vdimm applied is not so necessary because it operates below the default speeds of DDR400. I assume all base on 1:1 ratio

Focus more on the Vcore only
