hmm......if loosen the timing, i think it will get higher.

check this out smile.gif
http://www.planetamd64.com/lofiversion/index.php/t22139.html

the average oc result for Infineon CE-5\6
2.0-3-2-7-1T - 200-220Mhz
2.5-3-2-7-1T - 240-260Mhz
3.0-3-2-7-1T - 260-265Mhz
3.0-3-2-8-1T - 265-300Mhz

seem that loosen the timing may help to boost the speed. icon_rolleyes.gif

if can get 250fsb 1:1 drool.gif
*
is the OC result for AMD system?
i think intel system can't achive that! hmm.gif

did that... the best i can get is from 225FSB, 3 4 4 8 to 225FSB, 2 3 3 5. i can go 225FSB 2 3 2 5 but sometime cant boot and sometime can. not sure why.

though, my mobo is 875P but no match in term of OC if compare to your IC7 Max. sigh. BUT i have 6 ram slots! hehe

about the ram, yes it is a very nice ram especially with its very cheap price.
*
@irangan
the Gigabyte mobo u have there with 6 ram slot is a gimmic by gigabyte.
u won't used up that much of slot either.
but the mobo is really a great one for i875 chipset mobo series! no doubt of it. tongue.gif

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 10 2007, 12:36 AM)
To me the only difference is its BIOS got more things, Vdimm at 3.2V and has OTES and more SATA drives support.

IS7-E the limit is its Vdimm, do a Vmod on it and you can get Vdimm of a IC7. Plus you can enable and disable PAT.

If you can, get the Abit AI7 if you can't get either the IS7-E/IC7-Max 3:) The best i865 chipset mobo from Abit
*
adding to shinjite info,

Vdimm 3.2V in IC7Max3 is useless. got issue- VTT doh.gif
get AI7 if u can. max vdimm also at 3.2V but no issue. drool.gif

if u can get AI7 then just forget about IS7-E whistling.gif

pengster, from your posting..

there is only 2 possible scenarios.

1)i think your old DDR400 is not compatible with your new ram. are you sure that your old DDR400 is Kingston Value RAM? just now during the trading, i gave you my ram box too. you can check the serial num on the box. my ram is 100% Kingston Value RAM.

2)your mobo dual channel have problem.

info: dual channel only works when both of the ram is identical. e.g. KVR and KVR and so on.

edit: Run memtest on my ram, i am sure that your pro is not due to faulty ram. i tested the ram before sold to you just now
*
to run dual channel not necessary KVR with KVR.
i had once try KVR with Corsair, KVR & Apacer also no problem
but just the same value of both ram, which is 512 & 512

just to share my new OC with 2.8E

2.8@3.712@5:4@265.15@212.12
superPi 1M at 38S blush.gif
all this with Clockgen and finished in window.
this OC is fully stable with dual sp2004 no error for 4 hours
and memtest 2 hours no error.

i think my IC7-Max3 still can go higher--->4Ghz barrier! rclxms.gif
i'll do the VTT mod next week.
currently my Vdimm is max out at 2.8V. my Corsair UTT BH5 willing to suck more of it. Running at 5:4 really can show that my 2.8G can fly high.

i'll post the new result as soon as i get the VTT mod done.

i'm gathering all the infomation i got to perform the VTT mod on my IC7 MAX3 in order to run my UTT BH5 at 3.2V.
i'll need fellow forumer here to help me gather as much information as possible as to complete the MOD.

i also found out that a Droop Mod also helps to stablelize Vcore and Vdimm to help OC more success.

you help is most welcome.thanks

E6600 + P5B-E Plus + 8800GTS + 2gig D9GMH ram + SilverStone PSU + Lian Li casing. My current buy listing.. Sry for off topic.

The highest I can go is 3.9Ghz and 5:4. I cant go any higher. I can push it higher if I can pump more than v1.6. :9
*
@Irangan,
which Silverston PSU will be your cup of tea?
is it the Strider series or the Zeus?
or even the extreme OP series??

seriously, i'm going for it also......but dunno which one to choose...................... hmm.gif
i also perfer the Seasonic S12 series and the PCP&C.....
my budget will be at rm600 haha

If want to reach your target, some risk is a must. haha.

This shows that P4 really cant catch up with those lastest GC already. But I still think that if you use your comp for normal usage and casual gaming. P4 is more than enough.

Getting those cheap lian li chasis only. haha.
Hehe.. yes... I getting the Zeus Edition. Strider not good enough IMO.

With your budget, go for Enermax Liberty 620w. Very famous and nice PSU smile.gif

PS: your sig really too big. the rules said only 15 lines allow. change it before mod give a warning. haha

ps.i think ur siggy is abit too high unsure.gif
*
there is been some issue with the modular design for silverstone. so guess not getting the modular type!
as mention by irangan that enermax liberty 620W. do anyone know how much it cost? or the quality compare with the Silverstone Zeus 600W and the Seasonic S12 600W.

nice fan.  thumbup.gif quiet and bling bling. The airflow also not bad. biggrin.gif i would recommand this fan if you aim for silent.  wink.gif

now idle at 38C+-, load prime <55C  @ 3.2GHz brows.gif
Yup, yet the performance is bottleneck by s478 due to cpu, agp, ddr1 etc sweat.gif . Like what irangan use 1950pro on his 3.4C. Not really worth it for the price/performance. Unless you are using s939 then more juice can squeeze. Correct me if i am wrong. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
anyone know which mobo are suitable to play with s939 with agp(amdx2)
i may want to try amd 3800+(X2) which will only cost me rm150 but
i need to find a good mobo with agp(to couple with my 1950pro agp).
i have no ideas on amd mobo with agp slot. some said DFI is the best.
could u guys recomen some for me.

thanks notworthy.gif

maybe i'm wrong about the 3800+ X2. maybe it's a am2 socket. i'm getting it from a frend actually. still waiting for it to reach my hand.
anyway, no hope for me i think. just stick to what i have.....
if it's am2, then i just sell it off.

fylon, make sure u got good PSU also...this will bring stability to ur system... smile.gif
*
fylon, u also need to change yr ram in order to hit high with yr 30capper!
i own 2.8E and 3.2C but with same ram, 2.8E can hit 3.7G whereas, 3.2C only do 3.6+ the most.

and yes, PSU is sure an important when going in OC. look for purepower PSU if u r serious about this smile.gif

thts the Extreme Edition..but then 865 chipset series mobo can support it or not? in my mobo manual, it stated tht it only supports northwood and prescort.tht TS there mention 42-43 C on idle, but then i feel its quite hot also at stock.he's using hyper 47 cooler.shud be below 34C for the type of cooler for normal proc at idle at stock setting.

u try to look again the CPU-Z shot.

with 1.6V for 42-43C was a very good result.

u know how hot with 1.6V for Northwood, aroung 50C (with my 3.2C)

but now i'm selling off my system cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif
