QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 4 2007, 09:18 PM) if your volts are flunctuating, its better to raise it a bit in the BIOS yeah my volts are fluctuating like mad You can calculate ler by seeing how low it will flunctuate on load from idle Then u set it in BIOS erm btw is it normal for the mhz to fluctuate also?cuz i've set my fsb to 150 which should be 2700mhz but when i open cpuz its like sometimes 2760mhz sometimes 2700mhz |

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 5 2007, 08:02 PM) i will inform my friend about this... RM150 is cheap yeah i actually already have a enermax fma purepower psu..just that it's in the process of RMA now your vcore flatuate is due to your PSU. get a better one la. Acbel is cheap and nice yes, cpu speed do flatuate but not so serious like yours. your mhz faltuate that much is directly due to your PSU and that is not good for your comp so in short if the volts or cpu speed fluctuates too much it'll damage the proc/mobo? |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 5 2007, 11:06 PM) ASUS board tend to overvolt a bit during idle. Its normal throughtout my experience. However for my Abit board, terbalik, voltage goes down like hell >.>" oh okay..yeah i remembered last time i disabled my spread spectrum on my msi board..forgotten what it does edi As for your Mhz a bit higher than expected, it is due to the spread spectrum. Normally it is recommended to disable it if OC but if its stable then let it be. 2 factors causes flunctuations, PSU itself and the motherboard. As for my case, its the mobo, if I get even a 500W also the same thing unless I do a droop mode which I dunno how to do >.>" You won't know unless you try Even some TCCD got 300Mhz FSB 1:1 on Intel systems but sadly its quite picky But mostly all rams works well with AMD, I dunno why |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 6 2007, 12:15 AM) QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Jan 6 2007, 09:53 AM) like what you said, asus mobo really overvolt when idle. when load, it drop back. hmm...... okay later i'll disable it enable and disable spread spectrum not much different to me. i disabled it already. even though the result is for amd, i think the outcome is almost the same. loosen the timing seems help to push higher, maybe irangan's ce-5 can go 250 at c2.5. now have good ram in hand, it better that find the max fsb 1st instead of tighten the timing. after reach there, tighten the timing to squeeze more. just my 2 cents. |

the main reason im not pushing my proc higher cuz now im using a capalang psu
and also cuz one of my ram's is old school DDR266 paired with a newer DDR400 wait till my good psu comes back and i get my ultra90 and a DDR400 ram and i'll try to go past 3ghz |

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Jan 8 2007, 10:37 PM) are you using 2.4b northwood?? as i know that 2.4b is not as good oc as 2.4c. Well, wait your ultra90 and ram come and pump your speed. yeap northwood..im not really that worried about my hsf..mainly my psu @irangan those are really nice temps for an overclocked p4 |

QUOTE(irangan @ Jan 9 2007, 11:16 PM) i am using 3.82ghz, 1:1, 2 3 2 5 now because at 3.9ghz i need to use 5:4 and 3 4 4 8. yeah 2.7ghz is just slight oc..since im on a capalang psu and all that i only tested superpi on 3.9ghz. http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...dpost&p=9839173 If your processor is northwood, you can go much much higher than your 2.7Ghz. If your casing can fit, should get the Ultra 120. can perform much better dun think my casing can fit,cuz im using some cheap mid tower casing QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Jan 10 2007, 10:41 AM) last time i saw from air cooling thread that 1 of the forumer manage to fit 120mm fan in his ultra90. its actually rm130 only leh...but sadly im not on LG775 yet so no choice but to get the bracket rm180.....over budget for me... |

QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Jan 10 2007, 08:15 PM) Yaya, unsuitable RAM timing will causing your pc to freeze.Especially those tight timing like 2-x-x-x . If want to use those tight timing, need very good and high performance RAM.I see irangan's RAM also can run at tight timing nicely.I guess his value RAM is the best in terms of performance and value in tight timing setting. QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 10 2007, 08:37 PM) play around, if too tight it will either give you a long beep or it won't boot at all oh okay...my timings too tight edi If it can boot, another symptom is that your comp will freeze then restart XD oh yeah guyz i just got my DDR400 ram from irangan [nice guy |

=.= i managed to boot up at 1.5gb of ram...used the 1st 2nd and 4th slot.when i tried the new ram only 1 piece[512mb] came out the bsod
edit : now can run 2 pc DDR400 but in slot 1 and 2 , not dual channel btw my speeds now is DDR375 on divider 4:5 and superPI is 59s [1s slower then my old dual channel rams] This post has been edited by pengster: Jan 10 2007, 11:01 PM |

okay now im running at dual channel with 1 of my old DDR266 and irangan's DDR400 and no problems..just that when i boot it says overclocking failed and i have to set back to my stock speeds (2.4ghz)
btw my other ram is confirmed a KVR,i bought it and it cam with the same box plus a blue cardboard box edit : when i tried booting up with both my DDR400 it says NTLDR is missing , press ctrl alt del to restart OMFG i totally cant boot up my pc anymore edit again : now can boot up again with both DDR400 in slot 1 and 2 after i disabled spread spectrum and changed my boot up harddisk priority edit yet again : now i've succesfully managed to run dual channel with both the DDR400 KVR's This post has been edited by pengster: Jan 11 2007, 09:30 PM |
