Agree.
Just take a look at our (annoying) telemarketers (after you apply for their CC).
Generally their quality is very low and keep promoting the same product even you have rejected them countless time.
Once I encountered a rude telemarketer, who straight away cut of my call after I rejected her (nicely).
The best telemarketer I encountered was from Accor (hotel), they are really professional!
Though I still rejected her end of the day smile.gif

For annoying telemarketing calls problem, write an email to the respective banks and ask to be removed from call list.

Don't check the box while applying for new CC.
There is a box allowing third party to call you for the product, as stated in the application form.
When I didn't tick, the CS teased me saying no more job for them.
Just smile back biggrin.gif

Nevertheless, not holding too many cards.
Focus on M2P all the way.
Additional cards mainly for extra PPL access.

Tried Shangri-la Lemon Garden just two weeks ago, yes 50% is still applicable for two diners and I used AmEx Reserve to pay.

I have been enjoying this so called CS "excellent" service for many years with Maybank. It's nothing to be shout off. That's the basic requirements of all CS in the world. You all sounded like just discover oasis after battering through endless desert

Well, you mentioned Maybank, so I'm curious. If it's SG or other bank, I'm not so surprised.

QUOTE(skty @ May 3 2019, 10:28 AM)
This is the minimum requirement of CS regardless of what business they are into.

But too bad lousy CS is all around due to tolerance, culture, policy, politic, etc.
*
I do think Maybank cs is good, at least when we compare to Malaysian standard, if want to compare to other countries like Japan etc, then of course we're still far from perfect. Out of 10 customer service experience from different industry/companies, at least 7-8 are terrible.

Anyway, I encountered once, only once, when I called the cs wished me happy belated birthday, that's at least something from Maybank, or I would say from this staff who took the effort to wish

Their follow up has also been good, ie when they say they check something and will call back, they have never failed to follow up

I just received sms that my card was approved but I don’t think I can spend 80k per year with the credit card.

Would like to check is balance transfer count part or the 80k spending?
If I don’t get 80k, can I use AirMiles point to offset/redeem, what is the point needed? Try to find ? Try to find in Maybank webpage but cannot find ? Thanks

If I’m not mistaken yes balance transfer counts toward the 80k spend.

You’ll need 400,000 treatpoints to offset the annual fee.

Thanks, that’s useful. Every RM1 + 5 TreatsPoints, 400k equivalents to 80k spending too.. same 🤭

Just wondering is worth to pay if don’t achieve and keep the card or cancel before they charge ...

Slightly out of topic. https://www.maybank2u.com.my/maybank2u/mala...mastercard.page?

Apparently Maybank World Mastercard (conventional) annual requirement has just been revised from 120k to 100k, in line with the annual requirement of Maybank Islamic World Mastercard Ikhwan (islamic).

In addition, first year 800 annual fee will also be waived (previously 1k non-waivable on first year), with subsequently year waivable with 80k min spend (previously waivable with 120k min spend).

In terms of Lounge benefit I believe it is same as per Maybank VI/MU VI.

The main difference is this card earns *Evergreen* Treats Airmiles (AM) instead of 3 years validity Treats Point (TP). Whereas Maybank VI gets 2 TP for every RM1 spent, Maybank WMC gets 5 AM for every RM2 spent.

To further illustrate
Maybank VI | free 10000 TP upon first spend | Rm1 for 2 TP | 4500 TP for 1000 EM | TP valid for 3 years | Equivalent to Rm2250 for 1000 EM
Maybank WMC | free 50000 AM upon approval | Rm1 for 2.5 AM | 6000 TP for 1000 EM | AM no expiry | Equivalent to Rm2400 for 1000 EM

Do you all think MBB WMC is a better alternative compared to MBB VI for faster Enrich Miles accumulation, with MBB WMC getting free 50000 AM (8333 EM) to begin with? (Leaving MU VI 5x TP aside as it is non-guaranteed)

>>> MC | free 50000 AM upon approval

Just added a card in One U Credit Card centre, the staff told me this is just for new customer but not for add card... not sure true or not... as last time I add card for Maybank 2cafd premier, I got 10K points for each card... let’s see next week..

Hmm 🤔 please let us know if you do get the 50k miles.
Tempted to apply now if that is the case, since it is free for first year now.

I think it’s not worth to use your treatpoints to offset the annual fee if you can’t hit the spending amount. Can consider cancelling it after 1st year.

Since the key value of this card is its conversion to air miles from treatpoints, wasting your TP for fee offset would defeat the main purpose of this card already

If you do the calculation, you will see that it may be worth to pay the annual fee. The miles you earn can be used for premium class tickets which can easily be worth more than the annual fee. You can search previous discussion on this in this thread.

in absolute term, yes, but the saving is actually very little considering premium ticket should not worth that much (it actually got promo quite frequent). So in short, if one can’t really hit 80k per annum with this card, the benefit it bring is limited

The annual fee is waived automatically if spending reached above 80k. So, if you see an annual fee charged, stop using the card and cancel. Otherwise if you use the card after annual fee is charged you still need to pay if cancel.

Use Big Pay card, topup with M2P card, then withdraw from ATM. Can reach 80k/year.
Do some research, lots of info out there including on Big Pay thread in this forum.
