I'm currently holding AMEX Ascend from SG.
Everytime I call their hotline, the CS will ask the first question: How was your day, Mr. Wong? When I shared mine, I'll generally return the question. The CS will shared his/hers. From their reply, they are all GENUINE. A TRUST is established from there on. As a customer I feel comfortable and relaxed talking with them. Not some scripted line. You should listen how they ended their call - pleasant goodbye and well wishes

Just take a look at our (annoying) telemarketers (after you apply for their CC).
Generally their quality is very low and keep promoting the same product even you have rejected them countless time.
Once I encountered a rude telemarketer, who straight away cut of my call after I rejected her (nicely).
The best telemarketer I encountered was from Accor (hotel), they are really professional!
Though I still rejected her end of the day
