got the blank print thick PBT from bro quovadis

using it on my First gen Poker with Ghetto MX Greens (MX Blue stems + MX Black springs)

My first set of custom caps... I absolutely love the feel of PBTs but oh god, thick PBTs is something else. No wonder there's love for thick PBTs.

Yeah definitely. And it is addictive, every board you invest in the future will need extra cash to top up for the thick pbt.

What makes a good comparison then? I'm comparing non-mainstream/gaming brands like Leopold and KUL (yeah, we can put Ducky aside from this). For example Leopold, it has that awsomely thick 1.5mm PBT keycaps, removable cable, sound dampening pad (appeal to some at least, not me), some has modded cherry stabs (again, personal preference). Well, at least there's . Don't get me wrong man, I LOVE Filco, in fact I have 2 Filco board. Aside from being a prestige brand, it's just that Filco has to have something right.
Afaik, the only Filco with removable cable is Convertible 2 biggrin.gif
Was so hyped for Ducky back then when they released the Shine 3. But now, it's kinda meh.
And yeah, they've doing constant "promotion" for their board which makes them a bit like a cheapo brand to me.
*
i never knew leopold had modded cherry stabs, and they still have a pretty fucked up spacebar, solid wise.. i'd still pick Filco. sure they offer thick pbt keycaps.. but i'd still change them because they are ugly. (same goes for Filco)

i owned a few leopold, noticeably FC750R.

ducky is that keyboard that we should recommend to people on budget before they go for razer, but maybe build wise, leopold and filco is top.

and that is with Filco, they did everything right.

RGB? gimmicky (even those that has rgb usually has problems after awhile, that requires them to desolder, which would mean trying to go for warranty, and sometimes they would get denied, led fail to work - like CM rapid i)

what else.. removable cable? eh maybe i would go for that one, i would really want my own cable, but filco cable has never failed me.

keycaps? maybe that's the only thing for me that they need to improve. god damn those abs shitty keycaps.

Are you a touch typist? Do you need or prefer keycaps with legend?

I personally like plain blank thick pbt.
Low profile ( referring to user, not keycaps) - dark grey, beige, graphite color kinda cool
More cheerful, fun - bright color or mix color, many photo you can refer by googling.

Going dyesub or stealthy laser etched, is matter of preference and budget. Usually dyesub thick pbt cost about a mkb d

i always try to avoid myself from looking at the kb while typing although there are some times i need to revise back when there are too much typo.

if blank pbt costs half cheaper ill definitely consider getting blank set.

any good thick blank pbt brand out there? enjoy pbt will definitely costs me atleast rm350 with shipping from taobao

If you're not willing to spring the US$70-80 for EnjoyPBT aka Gateron, you don't have many choices left.

This set is roughly ~RM160, it's what comes stock on the Pok3r and it's quite thick but many people seem to dislike it.

Totally agree on those awfully thin ABS which otherwise would make Filco a much more solid option. Maybe a few macros and shortcut keys.

Somehow Filco 's innovation is more of practicality? Convertible 2 has a pretty solid Bluetooth connection (there you go, removable cable) and battery life (months). Filco minila for portability.

Leopold has no modded cherry stabs? I was referring to Ducky and KUL actually for the modded cherry stabs. I was actually planning to get a FC900R and I thought it has the modded cherry stabs. Might have to reconsider again.

Why dislike? I've tried those and it's awesomely thick.

I'm right-handed, just that I have minor carpal tunnel syndrome on my right wrist, so have to switch to left hand + trackball for day to day PC usage.

I'll still occasionally use a mouse for gaming.

Yeah, I dislike pok3r stock cap as well. It feel slightly slippery to me, prefer sandier caps.

That's kinda niche marketing, don't think reseller want that. When I walk around Lowyat plaza, there are still many newbie to mkb got excited by those junky yet pricey shit
