No really, I've heard about this take off angle on HF antenna design, but I don't really know that it also affecting the vertical VHF mobile antenna too. I'm probably technical when it goes about computer but not about radio transmission smile.gif

One thing though, this is from my previous experience in convoy somewhere at PLUS highway near Tanjung Malim, I was using SG7500 and another friend using SG7900 and the third car was using MR77 on top of his roof. We had a conversation with another ham from Sg Besar (from his home, guess on vertical too) .. at one time, we, the one with 5/8s couldn't hear anything .. but the guy with the MR77 just happily continue his conversation.. I guess positioning the antenna at the centre of the roof really help I guess.. as said, my knowledge in antenna is almost nil! smile.gif

antenna positioned at the top/center of the roof will perform greatly bcoz the roof will act as ground plane for the antena... this i learn from experiance...

actually i dont understand lah my friend. I dont have problem to input freq tx and rx. My problem is to input minus (-) for RPT SHIFT like in yaesu. You circle at "alias".

Actually i understand in "alias" if we want name it like we type "Perlis Local". So my proble how if we want to set for example
Repeter: 9M4RGH
Frekuensi tx: 145.6750 MHz
Frekuensi rx : 145.0750 MHz
Offset: -0.600
Tone: 103.5

so if i want to setting 9m4rgh.
In 'rx' colum i type frequency MHz = 145.6750 and squelch type 'CSQ'

In 'tx' colum i type frequency MHz = 145.0750 and squelch type 'TPL'. TPL Freq = 103.5

Is it automatic setting for offset if we complete type rx and tx?

so how i want input offset:-0.600

Please help me...

You dont need to put in the - or + offset.

Your setting is correct for TX and RX for your moto. What problem are you encountering?

RX 145.6750 - 0.600 (offset) = TX 145.0750

Moto direct Freq input is more accurate than the amateur rig using VFO as tuner.

Reason I circled the "alias" was to tell you this menu to add.

If they really pass the exam then I think they will get their 9M in time to sign yours.. They are nice people unlike some otai that think they are so great with their 9M. Some even take chance to collect funds..

wa, interesting .. Are there such 9Ms that solicit fund to sign your form? Is that for personal fund or for club funds? Right time for mcmc to forgo the signing if that really the case.

From my point of view, whenever some newbies is trying to get some signature (which is pointless), some clubs will put a big piggy bank in front of you.. Some will just pass you their membership form and call you to fill up.. You blur blur fill and then they ask for membership fee already. How to reject in that newbie situation?

Hi Cibby,

I am newbie for Ham Radio, in my experience, I don't think so 9M collect fund for signing off your forms. We need two 9M for recommendation of your CallSign only and RM5 for Commissioner of Oath. You have the right to choose any Radio Amateur Club.
