Hello 9W2WTC I don't think all 9M is doing that but at least there is some that is taking opportunity. Do you have a base station?

Hi Marvin, I'm from Shah Alam .. Section U20 .. but if you wonder where the hell is U20 .. its Sungai Buloh smile.gif Feel free to share/ask/write whatever you like here .. there were quite a number of discussion boards before but not that many hams are active in them and they gone forever .. this thread however has spans to 140 pages now..

hello wiraone! QTH is seksyen 7. sg buloh quite far away from here. been a ham for quite a while now. but inactive currently. my rig is only a 2m handheld with a telescopic. but as we all know. 2m does get boring after all the initial excitement passed. occasionally use Echolink to "scratch the itch".

My advice for fellow new hams deciding on first radio. straight get a HF radio. get an used unit if budget cant stretch. a decent linear power supply can be homebrewed to save cost. use resonant wire dipole hang on trees. If you need 2m later on, plenty of hams have extra gear you can borrow.

From my point of view, whenever some newbies is trying to get some signature (which is pointless), some clubs will put a big piggy bank in front of you.. Some will just pass you their membership form and call you to fill up.. You blur blur fill and then they ask for membership fee already. How to reject in that newbie situation?

actually it's up to you wether u want to join a club or not, when u got 9w licence, its not mandatory to join any club.its up to you really wink.gif

For listening to the amateur band? better and it's cheaper to get a HF transceiver. For general SW listening i think EBay have them. Of coz, made in China.

I've never joined any of the amateur radio clubs. But a good club will welcome you to join their activities regardless whether you are a member or not. Been joining Amateur Radio Club Sarawak activities since i needed my 9M recommendation letter.

Hi LYN forumers. Recently i apply for my class b AA through postage(pos laju). After a few weeks, a staff from MCMC phoned me and tell me to separate the fee because i've sent a cheque worth rm180 ( rm60 for processing fee + 5 years validity (24x5=RM120) ) . So should i post two cheque (1 cheque rm60 for processing fee )/ (1 cheque worth rm120)or wait for the invoice to come?
Thanks in advance.

hi..i just came back from cyberjaya office...my problem similar like ur problem..the diff is...i paid via wang pos & sent by hand to mcmc shah alam office on 9/8/10 and they gave me notification card and i should collect my AA on 18/8/10..so i went there on 18/8/10 and the s.alam office told me they sent my form to cyberjaya....so went to cyber 2-3 times to check my application status....the cyberjaya office said not in their records...wtf... mad.gif

so today went again to cyber office...they told me they have returned my form to my address bcoz of my payment...they told me that i should separate the application fee (RM60) & the annual fee (RM24x5 years) should be made via e-payment in mcmc website.....
