Yes, I just went to the counter to place this FD and then got the FD receipt within 10 minutes.

In fact, I do not have a saving account in UOB.

Why need to open a saving account? Unless if the interest needs to credit to the saving account.

Next time happen like this again, you can say you want to talk to the Branch Manager to confirm...

Counter FD - the counter can ensure the money come from other banks, aka fresh fund.

e-FD - existing fund in the same banks, although one may argue the "fresh fund" status can be tracked back, but the online banking system is not coded to track for this purpose.

Mind that, the reason why bank want to do promo FD is to attract more or extra deposit into their bank, aka to increase their deposit base.

Shifting current/saving account to FD through online banking, the banks earn nothing in the process nor meet the intention of having promo FD.

Why don't you opt for auto credit into your ocbc bank account upon maturity of your FD. I had my 15 Months Promo FD auto credit back to my ocbc bank account upon maturity.

Use RENTAS (RM 5++) or Instance Rentas (Fee rm 9++)

Anyone know of the new 5+5 FD promo from Maybank?

Tried searching for it on their website but could not find it. Only got to know about it when I asked at the counter.

Basically they are giving 4% for the first 5 months, then rollover the next with 5 months with a rate of around 4.5% I think.

Just wanted to share something. It maybe known to you guys but new to me. Maybank eGIA , when uplifting before due date(20/4) interest was received for the few days after last rollover. In my case last due date was 20 Mac and it was on auto rollover. I uplifted today(24/3) and was given the few RM(equiv. to 4%pa) for the 2 days. Normally I understand if on counter FD(monthly ) There will be no interest or nominal interest paid.
