Just learnt something new from BR.

Apparently if your FD is below RM50k, you can withdraw at any BR branch but if higher, you cannot.

yep but interesting to note that the rate is valid till 15 April.

gonna see what's the new rate like.

Received a respond from BR:

1. Fund in FD and CASA CANNOT be combined to meet the 300K requirement. In fact, the account itself must meet the requirement. This implies that the tracking is on the account number and not the holder name.

2. There is no registration needed for Rakyat Xclusive membership because the membership is automatically offered once the customer meet the minimum requirements.

I asked further on item (1) whether a holder whose fund meets the amount by combining multiple joint accounts are eligible but the next email asked me to call the contact center

If really cannot, then can say bye bye dy as I have 4 separate joint accounts, and each wont meet the 300k req.

OK, so cannot combine FD and CASA for 300k requirement.

I have a feeling that joint acct is counted. They may be tracking by name, thus in joint acct, your names and amt may add up to the >300k requirement. But I may be wrong. I do have joint acct in BR and they told me they track the TOTAL of an individual for giving out the hampers few years ago. Thats why I asked for 2 hampers at that time (for 2 years). But to be sure, better call the branch that u are using.

Yup, awaiting further reply from them. Hamper should be according to holder name as you said as I did receive them too last time for multiple FD account numbers. Hope they are following the same.

For me, being able to withdraw FD from other branches is not a useful feature. But for some, it may be.

Oh, I don't think u mentioned about the gift u got from BR ?

One of the Penang forummer mentioned he got 2 big bags of gift with towels and 4 Parker pens. How about u ?

White Parker pen & umbrella but this is not the branch where i am registered as Xclusive member. I am going back to check my home branch.

The information that I received from Xclusive call center is different. Once I meet the FD amount req, I have to call them up and they will then courier the membership card and any gift-of-the-month to my address. this month happens to be a mug. in other words, not dealing with the branch at all.

And yes, can combine joint accounts as long as your name is there.

The Cross pen which is better quality seems to be limited. Anyway Parker pen also not bad.

Last time they just send the Xclusive card by post and no gift. Yes, so long as you are in the joint acct, they just add up and if >300k, you are Xclusive member !

Sorry for not making myself clear. I should have said that in each bag there was ONE towel and ONE Parker pen (total of TWO each - not four Parker pens). In one of the two bags was an extra gift - an Xclusive thermal mug (only ONE). Anyway, without me asking, the ABM promised to send me other gifts when they arrive, including Hi-tea vouchers. etc. But, NO mention of gold coins.

OK, getting 2 Parker pens in one visit is still not bad. BR's trick by giving one big bag with the towel which take up a big space. I got 2 of the towels which are still in the packaging.

Was informed the "gold coins" coming in. But did not ask specifically "gold plated" or not. I would not set my expectation too high. I believe it is similar to one of their last year campaign where a gold plated coin was given out for FD depositors with certain deposit level (forgot the amt). Going to collect in next few days.
