9L/100km is not very normal, either your leg too heavy or the traffic condition that causes you to burn more fuel (e.g. traffic jam)

mine is average at 8.2L currently

if i'm not mistaken, m3 60-80km/h that time still in 4th gear or 5th gear, after 100 only it will shift to 6th gear, and it like to drop gear when you just press slightly harder on accelerator
*
Reset and try to keep at 2,000rpm. Now my average becomes 6.1L/100km (70% highway, 30% city).
Happy with the current FC. thumbup.gif

Hey guys, are there welcoming lights on the HS version?
I can't seem to find the function...so I'm assuming there's none ?

the engine is high compression direct injection. will there be carbon valve build up? is recommended to use ron97?

Why not? There's quite a few members using that fuel.

Carbon depends on luck. Not all direct injection engine kena.

All engines will kena, just how bad/how fast. Can ask those outside workshops after a year or 2 for their experience in opening up the engine. But using good fuel and engine oil will help reduce the deposits formation. Once in a while pump in Shell V Power Racing can be a good start rclxms.gif

After warranty over, find a better engine oil to use.

does skyactiv encounter pinging or knocking at high revs when using ron95? is the ignition timing retarded?
*
Pinging and knocking is a bit like a lottery jackpot, even though the science of it is well understood, experienced engine tuners will know the fact that sometimes even out of nowhere with low engine load, knocking/pinging can occur. Modern engines (and also the skyactiv engines) have ECU that monitors engine knocking/pinging. It will advance/retard accordingly to prevent damage. Skyactivs in US can run on equivalent RON90, so RON95 will absolutely have no problem. thumbup.gif

I don't care whether it's 95 or 97 as long can pakai. Even Blaze 100 also can pump brows.gif

no such thing as luck when it comes to valve  carbon build up. Either all skyactiv engines kena, or all not kena.

Since mazda 3 was just launched last year, i may have better luck directing this question to cx5 or mazda 6 owners.
*
Driving style matters as well. If you're always on short drives where the engine doesn't get hot enough, you're more likely to get deposits. This article discusses it
http://www.motoiq.com/MagazineArticles/id/...technology.aspx

I remember seeing in another forum that there are some carbon buildup in fairly new engines but not enough to cause harm yet. In those cases, they talk about installing an oil catch can to avoid engine oil vapour circulating from the positive crankcase valve from getting into the intake manifold.

Yeah the engine has knock sensors and automatically retards timing. That said, once the care ages, you'd probably hear some knocking now and then. My old City idsi was ok all the while and then earlier this year, on a really hot day I heard knocking. And knocking doesn't really depend on revs but more on engine load.

US Octane ratings are different from ours. Number is lower than ours.

I understand that, RON90 is about equivalent to 87 Octane rating.

Can't compare because the engine may be tuned differently for different regions. But using RON95 here has absolutely no problem.

Yeah missed the "equivalent" in your earlier post. That said, their's are rated 155hp@6k rpm with 13:1 compression ratio whilst ours is 162hp@ 6k rpm with 14:1 compression ratio. Looks like they backed it off to cater for Regular fuel in the US.

Not only the tuning, hardware also got some difference, the piston is different design from the higher compression version.

Yes the higher compression is from the piston. Tuning isn't limited to electronics.

I don't see the point where the pedal lock will reduce the legroom. The lock is placed at the middle and only your right leg will move.

Looks good. Any impact to steering tilt & telescopic adjustment?

How much is it with installation?

Yes. Is your car with or without nav? It's a risky tweak though; if you're iffy about warranty better avoid tweaking your mazda connect.

Hello guys. Recently im facing with this istop problem.

Fuel economy monitor shows that my aircond and engine is already on ready mode for istop. but battery is still un-ready.

Asked some forum-ers. they told me to put on seat belt. i always put on but the problem still doesnt solve.
