My Denon x4300h - exhibit lip sync issue for both Media player and Astro.

Both Media input lip sync setting has been set off or zero. This is definitely due to the Amp. While I can set the amp to auto lip sync, which still failed to sort the problem out, is there anything I need to look at from the Amp or this is a common issue for Denon?

Any feedback from the anyone will be greatly appreciated.

Local playback - minor lag noticed.
Astro ultrabox HDMI connection: lagged.
Media box: Youtube, Kodi, etc, lagged as well.

Does it lag when you turn off the denon and let pass-thru to your TV? Obviously sound would now be produced at your TV since its pass-thru.

Additionally you could also test your cable using denon player. Check at youtube on the instruction for your model. Diff models has its own set of testing.

I test both media player and astro ultrabox using old amp, connect only by Optical cable for audio, but direct Video connection from source to TV instead (my old amp has no HDMI in/out), there is no lag.

So the issue must have been from the Amp or HDMI cable. Recently I upgraded HDMI cable betw Media box and Denon using high speed rated one. So cable maybe unlikely.

I didn't know Denon player can test cable. How to do that ? Or maybe later I google and see.

Edit: Found the shortcut for HDMI test from youtube, will try that tonight and see if that helps. Thanks for the heads up.

lag in local playback with box may be due to bad files or outdated codecs - this happens in cheap boxes.

youtube lag with box is unusual, i have not seen before.

astro ultrabox lag - this likely confirm some cable or connection not in order.

in my years of all this, no such lags with denon or onkyo.

u will have to isolate one by one to see where the problem(s) is coming from.

Hi Guys, i recently upgraded from X1600H to Yamaha Aventage A4A.

Just want to share some findings here on what I noticed:-

1. Denon interface is simpler and easier to understand. Even setting up of YPAO RSC. I need to google up the mic location placement that not being shown by the GUI.

2. Finally, i understand why ppl say Yamaha Build Quality is better. When u have the receiver, u will understand. Denon = Honda, Yamaha = Lexus.

3. Sound clarity from Yamaha A4A is at another level. Playing 1080 or 4k downloaded content can expose the poor sound quality (especially those webrip content, bluRay rip content is ok). I didn't hear any "problem" with the sound when playing with X1600H denon.

4. More punchy sound from Yamaha as compare to Denon. Maybe is the power output (110w vs 80w).

5. Anyway, still waiting for the 4k 120 and 8k update by Yamaha.

So far no complaint, hope the Amplifier last. Hope can help any 1 that wants to buy Aventage but no info can be found anywhere online or on youtube.

*LCR speakers - Elac Debut 2.0 series.

1. The mic placement for YPAO is in the manual.

2. You're comparing x1600H to an A4A. That's an unfair comparison and it's no wonder why you have the misconception of Denon = Honda, Yamaha = Lexus.

3. That's because the standard "Flat" PEQ artificially brightens the sound for no good reason what so ever.

4. Punchy where? Bass? 110w and 80w isn't even a 1db difference btw, also Yamahas always limit their receivers down to under 35w if you connect more than 5 channels.

5. The 4k120 firmware is already out, it is version 1.65. Still no VRR, QMS, ALLM and QFT support yet (which they advertise they do).

Hi guys, thinking of upgrading my current Denon 1610 AVR to one with HDMI 2.1 with eARC to work with LG OLED C1 but retaining my existing 5.1 speakers and subwoofer.

Any entry level HDMI 2.1 with eARC AVRs to recommend?

MultEQ-X is not bad, IMO as good as ARC Genesis but not as easy to use.
