Hello guys, I'm thinking about upgrading to vip30, currently on vip5, is the upgrade worth it? Cuz my vip5 can get extremely slow sometimes and I worry that upgrading to vip30 won't fix the issue.

Using TM stock router. Wireless connection most of the time (laptop & phone).

Please advise. Thank you 😀

OK.  Maybe I go for the 50mbps.  Also.  I realise the new package the phone call is no more free
*
Yes, you'll be satisfied. Torrent speed always stable, last nite I got 5909 kb/s actual speed.

Somewhere in April - June TM will introduce unifi Pro, 100Mbps, but I think for me 50Mbps is more than enough..well we'll see the price first brows.gif

I think Hypptv is compulsory for a year. The price for 50Mbps start at RM229 (RM242 with gst)

If you terminate prematurely, you'll need to pay the remaining months as penalty.
*
Actually HyppTV must also stick to two years. I asked TM before if I can cancel after a year, they said cannot else my package will be terminated too.

if ur internet slow ,speed less than 80% than 5mbps, need to file complaint to them.
if u upgrade, u need to ask urself do u need faster internet and more money to pay for it? each people hv diff usage.

for phone dns, no need root. but u need to change from DHCP to static IP, then put the DNS IP.
for iphone, i notice u can set DHCP but put DNS IP manually.

Assign a DNS manually on your router settings
https://chanmingman.wordpress.com/2015/07/2...ter-rg4332-dns/
DNS assigned by TM is horrible I would say tongue.gif

Any cheap AP or repeater to recommend?

My poor Smart tv and ps4 can't seems to get full speed from the current distance.
*
I'm using DLink DAP-1665 as a wired AP. It's dual band but I only use it for the 5GHz since my existing router is OK for 2.4GHz throughout the whole house.

I'm having some issues with my Unifi 30MB package's upload speed.

It's still at 5MB upload speed when tested using Speedtest.net, although there were posts that the upload speed has been upgraded to 10MB.

Any comments whether the 30MB Unifi package upload speeds are still being upgraded in batches, or it has been completed and all 30MB Unifi package subscribers are now enjoying 10MB upload speeds? Thanks.

anyway to get the unifi people to give me all free modem, stb and btu rather than reuse my old one if i decide to get the 30 mbps?
*
Upgrade first then you have 1 year to slowly sabotage your router and stb. BTU no need to change. Old & new BTU same specs. Some even say the old one better quality.

I got my STB changed a week after my upgrade.

It is supposedly done by batches and I was surprised too when they announced on their website.
Anyway, it has been taken down two days ago so that indirectly tells you it is not completed yet. smile.gif

DAP-1665 is 250-270 but I got mine for 195 after 30% disc from gemfive. Xiaomi Mini is around 100-150 very cheap dual band. If you only need 2.4Ghz then got many cheaper options below 100 or use an old wifi router as an ap.

Wired Ap is always the best. Or use Homeplug if no cable. Like someone a few posts earlier, I also prefer to avoid repeaters.

Some of my posts when shopping around for an AP.
