I am slightly interested in the new 30Mbps advance plan... currently using 5Mbps VIP

but i read that some blogs, forums says
- Phone line to fixed TM lines now charges and also charges for dialing mobile number
- asymmetrical speeds... . like Download and Upload
- Any other problems

or VIP5 is better ?

Do 30Mbps really boost my downloads like P2P ? I download an 400+ MB file need about 20 minutes and 1 GB+ around 1 and half hour.

Stats for one computer or overall stats at the router?

If for individual PC then there's plenty of software available. For the Mac, I use iStat Menus but it only keeps track of totals since boot. For PCs, I used to use something called DUMeter which does monthly.



Nowadays I track at the router. It keeps totals since the last reboot. It has SNMP so I can monitor from the Mac. The app I use on the Mac to gather stats is Peakhour. It can do monthly totals though I don't really use that feature. And to be accurate, the PC needs to be running 24/7.

I use NetSpeedMonitor.. U can monitor real-time ISP speed and usage daily or monthly.



- I got free calls to all networks.
- I'm heavy torrent user (roughly 100Gb/day or 2), what I found, my speed is full for download and upload, nothing disturbed or less.
- No problems so far and their tech good enuf. Their hotline available 24/7 so far.

My opinions, if u are heavy downloader or love to streaming from internet, sure u need to upgrade. If u just facebook'ing/foruming/surfing/some youtube, then maybe u could save some $ if stay with 5Mbps coz the plan not exist anymore.. The cheapest u need to pay RM179(promotion) / RM199 NP for 30Mbps. IF they promote u with some plan that cheaper like MAYBE RM179 for 30Mbps + Jumbo Pack, then why not?

the promotional price is RM179 and does that mean i pay that price as long as i use the Unifi 30?

The plan i use is VIP5, and bundled with the RM30 package for the HyppTV a month, so i month is roughly RM180.

I only download animes on weekends and occasional popular movies. And rarely download lots of files/week

mostly facebook and checking lowyat forums. surfings.

From your point, i guess VIP5 seems to be the better one. thanks

Have you checked recently in your OCC Unifi? Most of our bundled free calls have been quietly removed by TM...

Does anybody facing lag on Facebook ?
Lots of photo are blank, took time to load it (happened on both Facebook app on phone and computer), even Facebook video non HD version also lag
But no issue on other website, even tried YouTube 720p no lag at all

yup... same with me and happen not depending on certain time... sometimes on morning, sometimes evening or night...

phone and pc both act same way either slow loading of picture or video cannot play or slow loading...

using phone just change data boom, video load ok, picture load ok...

tm routing... sure got issue...

in the mean times, i think i want to make complaint to skmm about how tm do their businesses where when we upgrade, our contract are renewed where it supposed cannot be tied again or renewed due to upgrade(need to follow old plan where done contract, it is up to us either upgrade and then downgrade and what so ever. even tied the contract, there is no warranty given(where it is not fair to consumer) to the device except modem(lifetime warranty)... need to study consumer act and mcmc related act...

i hope either they give us back the warranty period or no tied to new contract...

yeah use data no issue at all, but is no point stay at home use data

Are you using 50Mbps? How many housrs a day it takes to download 100gb file ?

What is the maximum download speed for Torrent guys?

im using unifi30, mostly my torrent speed around 3MBps - 3.8MBps when i get good seed

Since you are going to complain to SKMM, add one more (since everyone has problem with the stock router, get TM to change to a better router replacing the current problematic router).

I just installed Unifi 30Mbps advance plan yesterday..
1GB torrent file took me around 20 minutes..
Good seed will give me constant 1.5 to 3 Mbps download speed.

btw, does anyone know the nearest tm point in wangsa maju that I can terminate my previous line?

Yesterday just get the bill since upgrade to advance 30 last month,free call is still exist and not problem for that.
But another problem is,now I still need to pay ruby pack during free view!And I not get the discount,it should be get a discount right?

I tried with the cable, also 20Mbps. Called Unifi yesterday, they said that will send a technician to solve.
I upgraded to 50Mbps over the phone, they called saying that my area is now capable of it.
