last time i RMAed a processor with overheat as excuse...
btw, i just changed to Freezer 7 Pro on my Pentium D 930, altho not much noise, the temp is around 60 - 66C using speedfan... is this normal? btw, using ciplak thermalpaste

Added on November 30, 2007, 7:30 pmshit... failed everest stress test at 73C

previously i was using scythe ninja on my former rig ... pentiumD 940 3.2 ... no OC or anything ... stress kow kow on everest for as long as u want ... temperature never exceeded 61C .. cpu fan was around 1200rpm or less .. super silent
now using the same cooler on my c2q 6600 ... OC to 3.0 .. max temp was around 68-69 stressing on everest for over 20mins ..

btw ... how did u RMA your processor ??? just take it out and went back to the shop and say overheat ??? they replaced it for u one the spot or what ??? i wrote to intel saying my temp was too high blah blah blah ... they want me to do 101 test using diff mobo laa diff cooler laa etc etc ... damm kow disappointed ...

im using c2d processor e2160 1.8Ghz with DFI infinity p965 dark motherboard.i tried to oc it to 2.79G with FSB of 310.i've done some research on the net before buying this processor and most people can oc it to 3Ghz with stock cooling and default voltage and their load temp with orthos doesnt even exceed 60C or maybe 65C max.but mine only oc'ed to 2.79G but when i run orthos using small FFT's to stress the cpu,my full load temperature are around 55C-58C(using speedfan and smartguardian).its a bit high because im not using stock cooling.im using coolermaster hyper48 which i bought about 2-3 years ago.i touch the heatpipes during full load and its not hot! i assembled my rig outside the casing, lapping the processor, reapply the thermal grease but nothing seems to work.its not the thermal grease because im using arctic silver ceramique.is it possible that my heatpipes are no longer working at its best?

any suggestion u guys?
how long have u had that thermal paste ??
i read somewhere the life span of the thermal paste is about 2 yrs from manufacturing date .. if burn in liauu one i dunno la ... but shelf life is about 2 yrs laa ...
