I have a relative of mine who bought a socket 775 dual core system few months ago.. last week she ask for my help regarding her pc temperature.

I check the bios monitoring status the processor itself is at around 90C+(aircon) which I think its very high yawn.gif

I juz bought a new cpu fan and thermal paste to replace the intel stock heatsink.. the reading now is at 88C... temperature went down abit lower but still not safe... Fan speed detected at 2300..

is that becoz of the cooling fan or the heatsink problem?

any one can give suggestion to help me please...

Do you OC the proc?... If got OC must change cooler.... If not then maybe u didnt install the cooler properly... If u did install the cooler properly... Probably the sensor is faulty...

Not doing any OC.. juz a normal setup.

using Alpine 7 + RM8 CPU thermal paste...

the heatsink is attached very tight to the cpu d...

is there any screenshot or instruction for me to refer to on how to apply the thermal paste?

For a non-OC computer... And heatsink also installed properly... I think the problem shud be the sensor... Is the proc lagging or sluggish?... If the proc overheat will make it lag and sluggish...

I tried with open WMP playing song with full windows visualization + open bout 8 internet browsers browsing around.. it doesnt show much lag.

might be due to the sensor as per your suggestion?

Is there anyway to fix the sensor if it is the real culprit?
