i am using a acer aspire 5563 spec: Core Duo T2400 1.83GHZ 1.5gb Ram 80GB hdd Ati Mobility Radeon X1600
when the cpu is idle the temp is always above 73 celcius and everytime i try to play any games that requires high graphics it goes up to 83+ celcius
could the problem be at the thermal solution or the airflow? is it reccomended to dismantle and reapply the thermal solution? hope someone could help...thx

you can't really do much about it ...
either u run at lower ambient temperature or just forget about gaming on it ..

It's the natural design of the laptop that has restrictive airflow within the case..
if u have dissemble a laptop.. you would know why it's hot ..
there's only small piece of heatpipe and fins to cool off the entire chip which most of time is a extreme heat producer..
the cooler just not effective ..

There's no such thing as recommended temperature loh...
Different cooler, case and other component such as GC affect the overall temperature of the CPU one way or another..
The only question would be to find out average idle and load temperature of others with similar cooling setup ..
mine range from 34c to 44c based on wc cooling ..
it was 36 to 48 before on Artic Cooling Freezer Pro ..
All result based on stock core speed ...

It might do a bit but won't be too much ..
probably about 5 degree lower ... however by doing that would void ur warranty if ur laptops is covered.
it's not second hand right ??

hey everyone.
ok. heres my prob. my computer suddenly wont on. well, it turned on with a fast msg. something like this "...CPU.. heat" or soemthing like dat.
fyi, i just upgraded all.. the mobo, processor, ram, gfx..
i tried applying the thermal compound. no result.
i'm thinking about buying a new casing and maybe eliminate the use of the fan and changing it into some liquid cooling system.
any advice? idea? and price?
thanks in advance.

Could you list out all ur hardwares and probably attach photo to show ur current setup condition.
It has nth to do with going water cooling, don't get into the wrong idea.

yes as doom said. water though good ( if the right components are used) is a waste of money if u dont utilise it.. u cna easily get silent setups with good heatsinks and good fans. post up some pictures.. it wil help us solve ur problem

Use liquid cooling system if ur an extreme overclocker... Even for normal overclockers, good HSFs are good enough...
